We are able to get an equally comfortable mattress set AND THE SOFA for about the same money. So excited!

Decorator Lori Waters is truly wonderful, a talented blend of good taste coupled with the experienced pragmatism to make your design dreams come true. Over about ten years in several phases, we have completely made over the place upstairs and down, inside and out. Stayed within the budget, gently nudged us into trying new ideas when we were stuck firmly in the mud of 1985, and just generally gave us a new way of using the spaces that perfectly suited our wallet, our taste, and our lifestyle. Could NOT be more proud of the finished product, although as Lori reminds me, "We still need to address that old yellow bathroom..." We will, Lori, as we start the next phase of this immensely gratifying partnership! Surroundings is the place to go when you decide you're ready to turn your house into the delightful home you've always wanted.

I was visiting friends in the Quad Cities and had the pleasure of stopping in to check this place…read moreout - what a find!! This place is awesome! I'm not an antique store type of person. I'm not a big fan of shopping really but I do like checking out furniture and unusual items. I could spend hours here and the best part is that everything is displayed so nicely, no digging through mysterious piles to locate something worthwhile. You actually feel as though you can see everything and think about how you might like to use it in your own space. The amount of art and re-purposed items is amazing. And I've never seen so many cool vintage items (the kind of treasures that your friends tell you about after they've spent hours combing through the back of some dusty old thrift store that you would not even walk by, let alone enter). This place is a treasure itself - a refurbished funeral home with just the right amount of abstract art and unique pieces that peak your curiosity and make you want to return to see if that vanity you had your eye on last time you were in sold...or find an unusual gift for that cousin that likes odd designed, yet functional kitchen items. Quad City residents...stop by once and you'll be hooked. If you're from the surrounding area (or nearby states)...make a monthly pilgrimage to see what's new...well worth the trip! I only wish I lived closer.
