I visited here several times over the years. My favorite brunch dish is the Lobster Cake Eggs Benedict. I usually add a side of applewood bacon. I didn't return it but the poached eggs were overcooked, almost hard boiled. The bacon was very over cooked. Service was great. I'm not upset but disappointed. We went here for brunch while staying in Cape Coral on vacation. I had the lobster eggs benny, which was fantastic. The lobster cakes were seasoned great, poached eggs cooked perfectly and the little potatoes on the side were a great compliment to the meal. My husband had the huevos rancheros, which were pretty bland. I don't recommend those. We definitely thought my breakfast was better. Our 2nd time here. First time was for dinner, had octopus and pork cheeks, unbelievably wonderful and service (Katie) was awesome!! Came back today for brunch. Had lobster benedict, very yummy, with crispy potatoes. Service was very slow, (didn't get Katie, even though she came out to talk to us!) Bloody Mary was just tomato juice and vodka....they could take lessons from their sister restaurant, Fathoms. We went here to celebrate birthdays. The views are amazing. Plenty of seating to sit and sip one of their extraordinary cocktails either inside or outside enjoying that view. We were able to grab a table outside. I do think they need to have someone either at or near the door to assist patrons. We had to locate someone to ask about seating. However, once that was done people were tripping over themselves to assist us. Our waiter was excellent. Brought water without us having to ask. Drinks arrived promptly. Answered all questions. The sun came up outside hitting directly upon our table and a friend wanted to relocate inside. Three employees jumped to assist and we were quickly inside away from the sun. This had happened just as our food was brought to table. We ordered, if I can recall, spicy chorizo and cilantro shrimp. Chicken and waffles. A gather house salad and ok, I forgot.... The shrimp was spicy in the flavor category but not In the heat index. It WAS delicious! The next dish up ... while the waffles were crisp outside and tender inside the chicken was over cooked to the point of almost needing a saw to cut (thus the four stars) we all agreed upon that issue. I was disappointed. The salad was great and full of those greens. Creme Brûlée and a chocolate mousse for desert. We split these amongst us. The Creme Brûlée was one of the best I've ever had rich, creamy decadent and a hint of vanilla. No over eggy flavor ... The chocolate mousse rolled on your tongue and then that Gran Marnier (did I mention that part) Just comes up and the orange flavor so welcome mingling with the chocolate. These two were great finishes to our lunch. Parking is a challenge so do so in the garage and follow the signs or head towards the water. Tried Gather for the first time today which is located in tarpon point marina. Parking was easy and a nice short stroll along the marina led us the the restaurant which has both indoor and outdoor seating. We walked in and were told by the bartender to sit anywhere. We chose a spot in the window overlooking marina. The place had only a few people as it was 2pm by the time we arrived. Unfortunately it toOk 10 minutes for anyone to come over and ask us for a drink order. I can never understand when a restaurant is dead how it can take so long to be greeted. We ordered drinks and waited...and waited. I saw our server then asking another to get our drinks from the bar and she would ring them in the computer, so obviously she had forgotten. The other server then took over and everything went much more smoothly. Since we arrived at 2 they had happy hour going on which has some great deals. $5 house wines and some food specials. We tried a few of the apps and the Charcuterie board. Food was very slow to come out, especially considering charcuterie doesn't need any cook time, but everything was delicious. Overall we enjoyed our experience and would definitely be back, but felt very let down by the service provided. read more

Set an awesome setting on the marina beautiful boats and little shops all around and coffee shops and it looks really pretty. Nice location and staff. The limited food offerings we had time to partake were a mixed bag. Korean BBQ wings were great. The cheese fries were underwhelming with about 4 bacon bits and pretty much a truck stop presentation. The biggest disappointment was the chicken sandwich. Completely inedible. We were there right after they opened so the chicken patty was either frozen and cooked too fast, or was left in oven way too long. What a wonderful new asset to have in Cape Coral. I generally rate restaurants on 5 factors: food, service, atmosphere, price or value, and cleanliness. "Gather" rates 10 on all five factors. The atmosphere is especially nice, with a very comfortable feeling, although it does get a little noisy when it's very crowded. I understand that the management is working on sound dampening. For quiet and a romantic setting, just sit outside. Everything on the menu is very unique. The house salad alone is something to die for. The cocktail menu is just incredible. This place brings a lot of class to Cape Coral, without being "stuffy." And it has a beautiful setting. I have already been there five times, including two times for coffee in the morning. It is a bit off the beaten path, but that just adds to its charm. It is well worth the trip down Pelican Boulevard. A great place to "gather." read more

I asked my server if the section labeled "gather plates" was enough for a meal as I'd never been there before. He said they were hefty appetizers for two and a full meal for one, so I ordered the scallops. They were neither a hefty appetizer for two nor a meal for one. I received 3 medium scallops on a smear of their "butternut squash purée" which was barely an appetizer for one for $20. Even worse, they were mediocre. Others at the table ordered a sandwich , which was essentially a piece of bread with some cheese, lox, and arugula, and a pasta dish which looked like it was meant for a toddler. The meal sizes weren't enough to keep a runway model fed and were ridiculously overpriced for the quality. I would not recommend this place. Had they accurately described the size or quality of their dishes, we would have never sat down, especially with the prices quoted. A view of the bay does not make up for a one star dining experience. read more

Worst experience ever with management. Came here for brunch with 4people - three tables sat. We waiting a long time for everything/ water/ drinks/food. We actually had to go to the bar to ask for our drinks - it was taking over 20 minutes from the time we ordered. My plate did not come out until 10-15 minutes after everyone else's - my eggs were cold . Asked to speak to manager - no one came. I complained on their Facebook. The manager replied that it was "taken care of".When I questioned it - since no one came to speak to us- I was told that the person I spoke to was the manager. I guess asking to speak to the manager was how they thought they"took care" of it. Horrible service by management. We went to dinner Sunday night at 6pm had a reservation. We were promptly seated. Restaurant was only about 50% full. Great location at Tarpon Point. We started our night out with a Martini being spilt on one of us. We ordered 3 appetizers (we were a group of 4). The appetizers were served and as the server walked away another was literally right behind him to place our main courses. We had not eaten one bite of the appetizers, zero room to place the main courses, which forced us to hold appetizer plates in our hands in an attempt to eat them. Waitress never came over to address this or even ask how the food was. The staff was very young and obviously not trained in serving - at all! I don't expect to order a $72 steak and have it placed on the table with all the appetizers at the same time. Pasta came out ice cold, but our server never came back to inquire how the food was. When she did and we said everything came out at once the response was I told them to do it separately and walked away. No drink napkins, which had our glasses sticking to the table and condensation building up. We let the waitress know we would be two checks when we sat down. Checks came back a mess. Took a long time to correct, was never correct, but at that point we just wanted out of the circus - she then ran the wrong card for each bill and they were $100 difference in amounts. Food was good! If they don't want to loose business, they need to improve on their staff and how they handle their customers. Restaurant was only 50 percent capacity and when you have patrons holding their plates in an attempt to eat at an over crowded table because all food was placed at the same time, it's a problem. Then to have no one clear the plates, when they are empty, just added yo it! Very disappointing after making the drive and looking forward to a nice dinner on the water. Having a crying baby behind us added to the frustration. The Restaurant can't control parents who don't have the decency to walk a baby outside when this happens. Your on the water and have the ability to walk outside instead of ruining a whole restaurants meals. I'll never understand this. As a parent, once of us always walked them outside when this happened! read more
