Jody was great at Urgent Care. Kind, personable & knowledgeable. I didn't even have to wait very long! I'd come back.

Terrible staff, very rude, and disrespectful. They don't listen to what their patients have to say or care about them at all.

I came to this facility for an injury. When I entered, there were 2 people in the waiting room with…read morefrequent, wet coughs and blowing their noses. I asked the receptionist if I could have a mask and her response was that she wasn't allowed to give me one until I was called back to the care area. I thought that was a weird rule. She wasn't exactly pleasant about it either. I had close to an hour's wait, which was fine. It had to be better than waiting in the ER. From there, I was greeted by a very nice and friendly tech named Heather. She took my vital signs and a bit of a history and then took me to an exam room. She told me there were 4 people ahead of me, which I appreciated being informed of that. She was very kind. Then a nurse named Brenda came in and collected my history. She was also nice and informative. Megan, the NP, then saw me. She was also nice, calm, and helpful. One thing that they could do to speed things up is carry tablets or laptops. They used paper and pens to write everything down and then would have to transfer all of that to their EMR system. I'm sure this would help cut down on patient wait time.

This facility bills as if it is an emergency room visit and not an urgent care visit. Bill was…read more$900+ whereas a similar visit to a different urgent care the bill was only about $200. They blame it on insurance even though it's their fault and refuse to correct it. Do not go here, find another nearby urgent care in surrounding towns.

My husband had what we thought was a spider bite on his back that was just getting worse and worse…read more We decided it was time to go to the doctor, but being a Saturday that wasn't an option for us. We didn't feel that the issue was ER necessary but being new to our area we had no idea where to go for urgent care. We asked at our local Walgreens and they directed us to a sister store in Alton that had a "take care clinic" which we visited. We found that the wait was going to be nearly 2 hours and decided to try the local hospital ER afterall. When we arrived they were packed so we asked if they knew of a local urgent care instead. The receptionist directed us to the only other urgent care besides the take care clinic we had already visited. The Anderson Express Care in Bethalto. When we arrived there were about 6 vehicles in the parking lot. When we walked in the waiting room was totally empty. Within 10 minutes we were through the intake process and in a room, vitals taken and waiting for the doctor. Within the next 5 minutes we had been seen by the doctor and told that the issue was a cyst and a procedure would need to happen. The doctor was pleasant as were all the nurses. Everyone laughing and putting me and my husband totally at ease. The procedure was done and we were back out the door within the hour. Never have I visited an urgent care that was so friendly and efficient. I would recommend this clinic to anyone who asked.

My husband just went and got no care. He took off work and was told he has a virus and was given…read moreno prescriptions to help him. He can hardly swallow his throat is so raw. He was told to take a lozenge. You never see a Doctor here just nurse practitioners. My husband is almost 60 years old so of course he already tried lozenges and over the counter medicines. Avoid this place!!! Expensive and no help!!!!!

This is the "take care clinic" closest to E'ville residents. I arrived about 8:45 am on Saturday,…read morewith one father-son combo in front of me. Two touch-screen check-in stations booted up around 9:00 a.m. I was invited into one of two exam rooms for registration by an assistant, who took my vitals, and copies of my personal ID and insurance card. Then I was excused for about ten minutes before being invited into another room for my REAL exam. Quick check by nurse practitioner, antibiotic prescribed, payment processed. It's a little different to do the "paperwork" in the exam room, but there's no time spent at a receptionist station before or after. Prescription was sent to the pharmacy ten-feet away (my choice), and I was in and out with antibiotic in about one hour. This was actually my third "take care" visit - the first two years ago, and the second for a flu shot last month. If you have a minor ailment or injury when your regular doctor's office is closed, or just want a quick-stop flu shot, "take care" is a great alternative.

Did you know that in between every appointment, they need to take a 15 minute break? Me either,…read moreexcept that I've been sitting here for an hour with only 1 person and a vaccination ahead of me. I later found out the NP was training a student, so some forgiveness required. Overall, the NP was VERY thorough, almost to a fault, but it was appreciated. Diagnosis seems accurate and they had the 6 prescriptions filled in a matter of a few minutes, super quick for this Walgreen's pharmacy. I would recommend the Take Care Clinic to a friend who, like me, was unable to get in to see their PCP and wanted to be able to get back to work rather than waiting an extra day or two.

I had a great experience. The nurse who took my blood pressure and the healthcare provider who…read moretreated me were very friendly, polite, and patient. They took the time to answer all of my questions and made me feel comfortable. Everything went very well, and I'm very satisfied with the care I received.

This urgent care is woefully understaffed. There was only one person working the entire time I was…read morethere. She tried mightily to handle customer service, testing, sanitation, coordination with off-site staff, and more--and I do commend her for her efforts. But this is no way to run a health clinic. I was really taken aback by the fact that, once I accepted a telehealth appointment with a nurse practitioner, I was expected to discuss all of my symptoms and treatment options using the receptionist's phone--in full earshot of everyone in the waiting room (though there were only a couple people; one was a minor). I question the legality of practicing medicine in this manner, ie, who is supervising the clinic if no doctors are on site? Are nurse practitioners in Illinois licensed to provide care and prescribe without direct supervision? Furthermore, while the nurse practitioner I spoke with was as kind as can be, their medical advice wasn't helpful. For an unknown respiratory issue I described, they prescribed over-the-counter meds including a sleep aid (although they knew I already had an Rx sleep aid from my own doctor), and a common motion sickness remedy (although they knew I already had an Rx anti-nausea med from my own doctor). They also prescribed a cough suppressant that was just plain ineffective. I don't doubt their intentions, but when I was able to see my own doctor days later, he was frustrated that they didn't prescribe any antibiotics (not knowing whether my infection was viral or bacterial), and at the OTC choices I was given. Moreover, he immediately ordered a chest x-ray, which found that I had already progressed to acute pneumonia. I would return to this urgent care only if--like the day I went there--I had no other choice. And that would be silly, considering there's a reputable hospital right across the street.
