I really wanted to like this place -- the owners seem genuinely kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, my experience with the manager on duty was disappointing. They came across as dismissive and rude, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. The store has a solid selection overall, but they're often out of recent Magic: The Gathering sets, which can be frustrating for regular players. While some of the patrons are friendly, there are a few individuals who create a hostile and uncomfortable environment toward certain customers, and management does nothing to address it. It's disheartening to see that kind of behavior tolerated. This could be one of the best game stores in the area if management took professionalism and inclusivity seriously -- but until that happens, I can't recommend it. read more

A bit prices over market value . Did get one good deal. Owner was nice and polite. Will be returning . We came in on a cruise ship n visited his store . Very clean ; well supplied . We are PokiDino on instagram n youtube. We travel across the World buying cards. . Ty for the cards. read more

As a fellow gaming enthusiast, I was super excited to see a gaming store so close to where my cruise ship docked! And the moment I went inside I fell in love! They have everything: wide array of different gaming genres, super friendly staff welcoming you, and fellow gamers playing in the store. I wish I wasn't passing through so I could go back again and again! They had a wide array of different games. From what I remember they have TCGs, board games, d&d, warhammer, and many others I didn't see/forget. I got myself a couple sets of dice and a glass healing potion (full of dice, probably not recommended for actual drinking). The lady working there was super friendly and personable. She said the store just moved from a different location but has been in business for 20 years! Gaming stores can be rough to keep open so it's really a testament to how great this shop really is. I loved my brief stop at Gateway Games. Such a chill atmosphere and great place to be! read more

Visited Ketchikan while cruising Alaska. It's now located right across from the port. Had a lovely chat with the lady working there. Purchased a good travel size game, Mint Cooperative, that I haven't seen at my local FLGS. read more

Wanted to find a FLGS on my travels, and I was not disappointed. Had a huge array of D&D, a bunch of Warhammer, and a huge wall of smaller game books for DCC and the like. Would have loved to spend a while in there. Super friendly and knowledgeable. Got dice, stickers and a used game. I like where they're going with the cosplay. read more

Even though Ketchikan is…read moresouvenir shopped up the ass, this one stood out only because of the large variety of Russian themed goods. They had a sizable collection of nested dolls. However, although they had miniature replicas of St. Basil's Cathedral and Russian Christmas ornaments, they weren't as nice as places I found in Juneau and Sitka. Yay! My first Alaska review!

Also the stuffed wolf that latched onto my hand and wouldn't let go. Vegetarians and human rights activists should stay out and hunters and lovers of fur, run inside and spend a paycheck.

I've now been in a fair number of taxidermy and related oddity shops (don't ask) -- enough to recognize a good one when I see it. Wow. This store had an amazing selection of creatures - mostly real taxidermy (I don't recall a lot of rogue taxidermy, but I think there may have been a few.) This store also sold some hides. It also had a nice selection of smaller items, ranging from unique cards to dreamweavers to other oddities, like coon picks (google that!) This store is definitely worth a stop while you're in Ketchikan - and allow yourself at least 30 minutes to visit - it's a good-sized shop with a lot worth seeing.
