I've lived on Cape for a while and this is the BEST dental service I've ever received. It starts with Sarah on the phone, so soft spoke, understanding and accommodating. My dilemma started with one sleepless night, I gave them a call at about 12 something the next day, told Sarah I was in so much pain, she got me in within 2 hours for an emergency appointment. I first saw Mari, who was very nice she prepped me for the consultation. Dr Codjoe, came in and did his checks, once he was done I was given options and I decided to have both wisdom teeth extracted. I was prescribed antibiotic and pain medication for one week. I was back to do the extractions after 7 days and was so nervous. checked in with Sarah, who is was still very nice, got prepped and and briefed by Mari, still nice. Once Dr Codjoe, came in he went over the procedure with me again, numbed my mouth up and we were ready to go. The first teeth was out in 5 minutes, maybe less ZERO PAIN!!! I had no idea it was out until he said it was, the second teeth we knew had issues so it was a bit more complicated, but I still didn't know when it came out. One think I really appreciated was him asking how I was feeling every 5 seconds, the moment I flinched he stopped. To top it off I was not even a patient of theirs to begin with, but now I am and my whole family will be too! Everybody there seemed to like their jobs, and you don't see that often on cape. My Children have been going to a local pediatric dentist for YEARS. My daughter aged out so we signed up her at Gateway. She loved it there and after her experience I knew I'd send my sons there once they aged out (currently 13 and 14). Unfortunately, we had a negative experience at the pediatric dentist so I ended up signing them up at Gateway a few years sooner than planned. My sons have each had a cleaning there and one has had a filling appointment. Gateway is on time and quick and super friendly! My son that had the filling said he didn't feel anything (comparing to the pediatric dentist) and it was much better than his past experience. He was also done in under 20 minutes (2 fillings). The other place we would have been there for at least an hour with multiple papers being signed throughout the process and a grumpy kid as well! The staff at Gateway are friendly and personable. I started going to Gateway Dental five years ago when I wanted to straighten and whiten my smile for my wedding day (the results were amazing!) Even after moving to Wareham, I continue to travel to Hyannis to see Dr. Codjoe and the staff at Gateway Dental...they are worth the drive! Dr. Codjoe is friendly, compassionate, knowledgable, and funny too! If you fear going to the dentist or have dental anxiety, this is the place to go! I'm so glad I found Dr. Codjoe and that he is now my dentist.. I have had a few bad experiences in the past and it felt like such a relief to actually want to be in their office. The atmosfere is relaxed, people greet you with a smile and that just makes you feel confident about taking care of your teeth. Although I have no dental insurance, I found it to be really easy to get my cleanings twice a year because of their savings plan that includes them. I also got an electric toothbrush that the hygienist there reccomended and paid a LOT less than I would've anywhere else (I checked Amazon, it costs more if you consider the shipping and all..) A wonderful dentist! I'm a newby and am simply bowled over by the care, professionalism, kindness, and expertise of Dr. Codjoe and his entire staff, from the good Dr. himself to Daniel at the front desk. On my first visit, to have a teeth cleaning, Dr. Codjoe stopped by and sat with me for a good 15 minutes to get to know me. Since then, I have had a problematic tooth extracted and a periodontal scaling (that would send most patients off the Fear Factor scale, but instead was minimally discomforting and expertly and carefully done by the hygienist). For way too long in my life, I was terribly afraid of dentists, as I had a really mean one who screamed at me when I was younger. My teeth were LITERALLY falling out come adulthood(I'm a soda lover) so I couldn't put it off any longer. Everyone was AMAZINGLY friendly and very understanding, and even allowed my boyfriend to sit alongside me during each treatment(minus the xrays, obviously) until I felt less anxious. I got several cleanings, and some very comfortable partials and some fillings so far- very thankful to have found this place, and very fortunate it's only a town away from where I live. For ten years now, my wife and I have relied on Dr. John Codjoe and his stellar staff for premium dental care at good value. Gateway's insurance guru, Sarah, also strives to insure each client's insurance benefits are carefully applied whenever possible. As such, coming into this clean, friendly practice is as good as visiting a dentist can be. And we attribute much of its quality and efficiency to the leadership of Dr. Codjoe himself. There may be a nicer, more skilled dental practitioner about; but we just haven't met one. Gateway is, in simple terms, a place you can really trust. And that's a priceless blessing. read more

A warm friendly very polite office that makes you feel welcomed and cared for. The assistant was particularly polite and helpful and the doctor was friendly, personable and most of all very capable...have seem many dentists in my 86 years and he will remain as one of the most interesting to visit as well as doing good work....I was a person to him not just another tooth to be pulled...and that matters a lot. I felt both respected and well cared for..a super combination. Must remark also that the office was exceptionally clean and up to date and has a mixed racial staff who were impressive.. My husband and I live in South Orleans but we love coming to Hyannis to get our teeth cleaned! Everyone at Gateway Dental Care is so very nice and caring. In addition, their prices are reasonable. If you don't have dental insurance, they have a reasonable payment plan/package for the year which includes X-rays, 2 cleanings and teeth whitening! Dr. John B. Codjoe is a genuine caring person and makes you feel special when he is taking care of you. The girls at the front desk are so sweet. Who likes a dentist appointment? I rather have another c-section recovery. However, Dr. Codjoe is simply the best. I have been to his office for a implant procedure and routine care. He has a great ability to make you comfortable through the process. He explains the procedures and after care so there are no surprises. His honest approach to dental care eliminated a lot of the anxiety I feel in the chair. The staff at Gateway is always happy and works hard to accommodate lifestyle and schedules. Dr. Codjoe and his staff are fabulous!! I needed a full mouth extraction for dentures. Had it done last Thursday and today, Monday, I'm already feeling almost normal. Complete confidence in Dr. Codjoe. He is smart, compassionate and great at what he does. I had very little pain during the procedure and post surgery wasn"t too bad either. I was expecting much worse!! I highly recommend to anyone who has a fear of dentists to see Dr. Codjoe and his team they will make you feel very safe and comfortable (as posssible at dentist lol). Love the kindness of the whole staff polite always smiling and they really do a fantastic job on my teeth. Dr. Codjoe (pronounced Kojo) is phenomenal on all fronts. He does excellent work and he's kind and if you have a dental phobia, he'll ease that significantly. He also tries to find the most cost-effective He is regarding tooth problem solutions (especially since that is extremely important to me). Other dentists I've used give little attention or no attention to cost-cutting. If you give him a try, you absolutely won't be disappointed!! read more

I've been going to Gateway Dental Care for about 5 years now. They are by far the best Dental practice I have ever been to. Dr. Codjoe and his amazing team always do great work and make it a fun environment. Everyone in the office is so personable and friendly. I was so pleased with the Staff at Gateway today. It was my first visit and I was a bit nervous. The hygenist was very understanding and kind.
