I loved that we got on the horses right away. Once on horses that were somewhat aligned with our experience levels and nervousness (I wasn't nervous and got a sassier horse haha), they gave us a brief intro to how to control the horse. Then we were off pretty quickly! The guides spread out throughout our trail group and kept an eye on us. We stayed as a group and they checked in when needed. The views were incredible- we rode right along the river and it was so beautiful. After the ride, we got to feed and brush our horses, and even got to meet some cows and baby horses! It is so lovely to see how happy all the animals are here and how well taken care of they are. Such a special experience!

The ride itself was peaceful and scenic, and you could tell the horses were well cared for and loved. I would like to have been able to post a good review for Evan Bonner. But, unfortunately, I can't…read more I left with no idea what, if any, training my horse received. Evan was not forthcoming with any information on what exactly he was working on with my horse; and, if I asked I received an evasive reply. The couple of times that I saw him do anything with my horse was a for few minutes during a couple of my so called lessons. I call them so called lessons because Evan either sat and stared at his phone during most of the lesson, or he went off on a nonstop talk that had nothing to do with the lesson or my horse. I also went to a clinic thinking I would learn useful exercises to do with my horse. As with my lessons, he seemed pretty much disinterested, and frequently went off on one of his endless lectures that was not at all related to the clinic. He even said he got bored attending horsemanship clinics put on by other trainers. We did get a nice lunch, though. After two months, I was a few thousand dollars poorer, and not at all sure my horse had improved or learned much. I left with the belief that Evan is totally burned out with horse training, and would rather be spending his time with his new interest of becoming a ferrier. Carrie his wife, however, is very pleasant and accommodating. And, the facility is a good place for boarding. The horses are fed good quality alfalfa, there are automatic watering devices, the stalls are cleaned daily, there is a nice wash rack area, there is daily turnout in large areas, and the facilities are very clean. In all, the horses are very well kept.

Tania at check-in was incredibly kind and helpful. She made the reservation process over the phone so easy and even helped me plan my surprise proposal, which meant so much to me. Our guide Sarah was absolutely amazing! She was friendly, patient, and made the entire experience unforgettable. We did the private 2hr mountain tour with the proposal and picnic package, and it honestly could not have been more perfect. The weather was beautiful, the views were breathtaking, and Sarah took the most incredible photos for us that we'll cherish forever. Everything felt so personal and special, and you can truly tell how much they care about giving people an unforgettable experience. I'll admit I was skeptical when I first heard there was an actual farm in Seattle. Land here is…read morescarce and expensive. But lo and behold - there really is one! Seattle Farm is a privately owned 20-acre property, and I'm pretty sure it's the only farm within city limits. The place is beautifully maintained and feels like a hidden gem. No cows or chickens, but there are plenty of horses. We came during pumpkin season and paid $25, which covered both parking and admission. Big parking lot, easy access. At the barn you'll find several horses, and feeding them hay was a hit for both kids and adults. The darker horse was especially affectionate - kept rubbing its head against us, super sweet. You can also pay extra for horse/pony rides; they are all calm, well-trained, and come in various sizes. There's a food area with picnic tables where you can grab hotdogs and drinks. The pumpkin selection isn't as large as farms farther out, but still enough. It's great to see a place like this still operating in the city, and it's definitely worth supporting to help keep it going. I think they also host private events like birthday parties and weddings, and offer dedicated horseback-riding lessons - you'll need to call for details. Awesome family-friendly spot. We'll definitely be back next year!
