She did not inform me that my stones were too large to remove by laproscopy surgery and she did NOT inform me that she had NEVER done this surgery before. After a 10+ hours of surgery where the stones were not removed but imbedded in my kidney permanently - I am left to live in pain with frequent obstructions from all the "blasting" she did. I also had a stent in for over 5 months!!! She would not have done that to a man - because you cannot have sex with a stent!!! Well let me tell you ---it wasn't that much easier being a woman - it hurt and bled all the time and my husband didn't want to have sex if it hurt me - try having a marriage without sex for 5 months!!! WOW, I can't imagine how you left Dr. McGaughey's office with those outrageous thoughts and ideas!…read more I met her at the hospital when I was suffering much of those same symtoms and she took great care of me! She explained everything thouroughly and compassionately and then followed through with a plan that we decided on together. My surgery and recovery went smoothly and I could not be happier! My family sings her praises as well as the folks I met in the waiting room at her office where I went for my follow up care. I checked on line and I could not find any complaints against Dr. McGaughey. Her reputation and character was everything I expected and then some. I whole heartedly would and do recommend Dr. Mcgaughey to anyone who needs to see a board certified urologist or surgeon.

Concerning Error in Report - Patients, Please Read Your Reports Carefully…read more Our experience with this radiology provider was unacceptable and should raise concern for anyone who values accurate, responsible healthcare. A radiologist reported on the condition of an organ that had been surgically removed months prior -- stating, in writing, that the gallbladder was "normally distended with no gallstones." The patient had no gallbladder at the time of the exam. This is not a harmless oversight. It reflects a serious breakdown in attention to detail, and raises questions about whether the images were truly reviewed or whether templated text was used without verification. We attempted multiple follow-ups through phone calls and the patient portal. No one from the facility ever responded. The only action taken was a quiet, unexplained addendum to the report stating, "patient actually is post cholecystectomy," with no apology or clarification. Patients: read your radiology reports carefully. If something doesn't match your medical history, say something--and insist on a response. These reports are part of your permanent medical record and are often used to guide future decisions. If you experience a similar error or lack of accountability, I strongly encourage you to file a complaint with the Missouri Board of Registration for the Healing Arts. Accurate diagnostics and professional integrity should be non-negotiable.

Dr. Balakrishna has patiently and simply explained so much to me. I don't feel lost and alone anymore! Today was an amazing first day for me. KATIE and BRI are out of this world helpful from the minute…read moreyou make an appointment. And don't try to weasel info about your diagnosis from them - they are too professional to answer, extremely nice, but very professional. From the moment I walked in, ARIEL was all smiles greeting people and helping me figure out what was next. Then LISA walked me to where I needed to have lab work done. ALLY was next, and with her great sense of humor, took my vitals. And if you aren't a Chiefs fan, beware!! As a dedicated family, they all are!!! Then TASHA went over my info before DR. TUNGESVIK came in. I was surprised, too, at the consideration and amazing knowledge someone so young as Dr T already had. All of their constant concern and support is like an anti-cancer and anti-nervousness drug! Thank you to JESSICA AND MARIAN, too, for keeping me calm during my procedure. And JORDAN, I didn't forget you - thank you for getting my next appointment so early! I won't say I'm well versed in cancer, but I did work in cancer statistics for a few years; went through my besties cancer journey at University and Siteman (she didn't survive); watched my parents go through two cancers each; and almost everyone on both sides of my family had cancer before 60. So I can honestly say I know that whatever comes down in the form of a negative diagnosis, I'll beat it because of this team. When you walk the clean, bright halls, you are surrounded by colorful, positive and empathetic pictures making you feel superhuman, or a cancer conqueror, too. While I was waiting (extremely nervous) an older man sitting next to me told me it would be all right. I was so touched that he took the time to notice how scared I was and to talk to me. A snack lady came by to see if we needed anything. All the patients were kind to each other. Can't say that at too many places:) You would think you'd feel like an assembly line but nope. The sense of humor, the reality of it all about life's craziness, the TIME THEY TAKE TO CARE made me feel so comfortable and not nervous anymore!! I really wish my bestie had MO Cancer Associates on her side when she was diagnosed. I'm sure she'd still be here.... Thank you MO Cancer Associates and whatever divine entity put you all in Columbia!!!

He listened to us. He was open to ordering different diagnostics. He researched for answers. Instead of giving up and sending him along to an adult PCP, he truly wanted to help him. He did just that. He heard a seminar about people with low ALP levels and a condition called HPP. He referred us to JH Metabolic Bone Clinic. We couldn't get an appointment for a year, but it looks like we finally have our answer. Thank you, Dr. Bucci. We are eternally grateful.
