This is a Georgian restaurant in Helsinki. The ambiance is very funny. It almost feels like the restaurant is in an alleyway that suddenly got a roof. The restaurant feels like it used to be a open courtyard.
We tried a few dishes. This is not the first time I've had Georgian food but still am quite new to the cuisine.
-Khinkali dumplings: I actually did not like this. The meat was incredibly salty and I didn't think it was very fun to eat.
-pelmeni: this one came in a small cauldron of sauce! I opted for potato pelmini. The potato filling was good and tasted what I expected texture wise. However I felt like this entire dish could have used a bit of salt to really pop. The sauce and dumplings needed more salt.
-Khachapuri: this is the famous egg bread. I did like this dish and felt like it tasted like what I expected. The cheese and egg congeals pretty quickly in my opinion. The bread was quite large and perfect for sharing!
-kubdari: this bread had meat in it. I thought this was fine and also tasted like how I expected.
-herb salad: I think there was too much salt on the dressing or maybe just too much dressing. It was very tangy. I think less dressing would have helped.
-i forgot the name of the last dish. I think it was some sort of sausage or kebab dish. It was not bad.
Service was very good. I drink a lot of water and they were very helpful with the water refills. read more
