Our son entered the infant classroom at four months old and as a first time parent I had so many fears and concerns regarding childcare, I sobbed the day we dropped him off for the first time. Over a year later our family has to relocate, and on his last day in the toddler room I cried again, but this time out of genuine sadness to leave our Discovery family. Sally, Jen, and the staff have provided unconditional care, demonstrated professionalism, and shared their expertise in a way that has exceeded my expectations for childcare. I will be forever grateful for the love and guidance they have provided our family. Some areas Discovery has impressed us in: -Infant safe sleep and overall child safety -Breastmilk handling and bottle feeding -Handling of parent-provided food during transition to solids -Assistance and adherence to provided infant sleep and feeding schedule -Transition from infant to toddler room -Age appropriate activities -Opportunity for safe outdoor toddler play -Communication with parents regarding child-specific development -Timely reports of illness and injury -Family oriented environment and sense of community

This place truly became his second home, and we couldn't have asked for a better environment for his early years. The only reason we made the decision to leave was because we moved. Mrs. B and Mrs. Elena are exceptional caregivers who made our son feel loved and secure every single day. Their warmth and dedication were evident in every interaction, and it was clear that they genuinely cared about his well-being and development. From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with smiles and a positive atmosphere that made leaving our little one so much easier. Mrs. B has a remarkable ability to connect with children, and her patience and kindness helped our son thrive. She always took the time to engage him in fun and educational activities, fostering his curiosity and creativity. Mrs. Elena's nurturing nature was a perfect complement, providing a comforting presence that made our son feel safe and cherished. Their combined efforts created a balanced and enriching environment that supported his growth in every way. Melrose Child Care is clean, safe, and well-organized, with plenty of stimulating toys and learning materials. The structured routine helped our son develop a sense of security and predictability, while still allowing for plenty of playtime and exploration. We appreciated the regular updates and communication, which kept us informed about his progress and daily activities. At times, our 6 year old daughter would spend the day when she had her random school breaks and she cried one of the days because I was picking her up too early which she's never done previously. As parents, we couldn't be happier with the care our son received. He looked forward to going to Mrs. B's every day, and it was clear that he was happy and well-cared for. We highly recommend this childcare center to any parent looking for a nurturing and supportive environment for their child. Mrs. B and Mrs. Elena are true gems, and we will always be grateful for the wonderful start they provided for our son.

She has gone from being a timid and silent observer, to an engaged and exuberant student. After spending weeks touring many local daycares and other Montessori schools in Oceanside, the minute I stepped into Miss Komal's classroom I knew this was the place for us. I've never felt so uplifted in a pre-school environment- filled with natural materials, and seemingly endless educational activities for children to explore independently. It is a true gift to have Miss Komal's 30 years of experience educating young minds. I love that our daughter learns about other cultures, countries and traditional celebrations around the world. This school feels like a second family and we wish we could stay here forever & preserve the magic that is Montessori education. The outdoor classroom spaces are so vary special!! I can't tell you how important it is to us to have our daughter spending so much time outside with new scientific studies now confirming how important outdoor time is for developing minds and for mental health. And the scheduled dance classes and yoga sessions that the children get to participate in weekly are creating a love for physical movement and health. The additional presence of the classroom chickens (who get to roam around!), the classroom Tortoise and parakeets brings joy and delight to this very special school experience. We look forward to the seasonal rhythms of hatching eggs in the spring, watching the chicks grow all summer, and year round outside field trips to visit horses, farms, ecological preserves, music schools, botanical gardens and more! It feels like magic to witness my daughter and her class mates rolling out their mats, selecting a school work task or game, playing peacefully & then responsibly rolling up and returning their mats when they're done! It's impressive to say the least! My daughter will often pull out her cleaning supplies at home and eagerly help me clean- all because of the example set at school. I can't recommend Providence Montessori more!!

They are the most loving authentic human beings on the planet and they love all the children. Each of them treat each child with love and respect in every interaction. We couldn't be more thankful to their impact on our little loves lives. Our middle child entered shy and a little guarded and left transformed- confident and happy. It was actually an old draft that had been sitting in my account. I realized I never posted before,…read moreso I went ahead and posted it now. I'm not carrying anything. All good here. Just thought I'd share my experience with others so they aren't surprised. I've had people ask me what I thought about Highland and I've told them, so it seemed fitting to make it public to warn people. Now you are making things up. No profanity was used. How did you even come up with that? You weren't there. Did she make that up or did you? And what disrespect are you talking about? Me being mad? Yes, I was mad, but there was no disrespect. Raising my voice a little out of frustration that I had just told the teacher about my kid's reflux, then less than an hour later I had to pick her up for what you even confirmed was spit up? I missed my deadline and had to rearrange my whole week because of that. You told me I could bring my kid back that same day once you confirmed that the teacher didn't even know what spit up is (yet she is watching 10+ kids all day long). But I refused because I had been called so many times to pick up my child in the past. My kid has since been at another preschool and I haven't been called a single time to pick her up. If anything, your school and the teacher had a clear disrespect of my time and my job on many occasions when you would call me and require me to pick up my kid for silly reasons. Can any other reviewers confirm that this has happened to them as well? I am sure there are some that would say so themselves. I totally understand what I committed to when registering. I didn't know that my kid would be sent home again, and after so many times, I just had enough. I asked for a refund of the deposit, but you refused despite the mistake on your staff's part. That's ok. I figured since that is the case, then an honest review is fair.
