The unprofessionalism demonstrated by General Manager was astounding. Phone calls going unanswered, appointments not kept, paperwork not submitted, and inaccuracies in what was presented. The General Manager finally kept an appointment to measure the space I needed flooring for, only to be unable or unwilling to actually submit a proposal for the work. I followed up three times to request the subsequent proposal and was told on one occasion, when I stopped by the store, to expect a call from the General Manager within the next 30 minutes. I was told this by his coworker who called him in my presence to find out why I never received the proposal. Needless to say, that call from the General Manager was never received. Fortunately, the Bluffton and Hilton Head areas have many options for their flooring needs, and I for one strongly recommend choosing one other than Builtmart, LLC. I arrived at the realization that if Builtmart, LLC was as underwhelming, unreliable, and unprofessional BEFORE getting the sale, then the likelihood is that the quality of the work after securing the contract would probably leave a lot to be desired. My recommendation is to choose your flooring company wisely and choose anyone in Bluffton other than Builtmart.

Combining that fact with our purchase and installation was two years ago, we thought we were not going to be able to get our problem solved. However, that was the farthest from the truth. The new sales person listened to what we needed, looked up our order, told us the district manager was there and to give him a moment to run it by him. And, a few minutes later the entire problem was solved and taken care of. The level of customer service far exceeded my expectations and we were so thankful and also very impressed. We purposely did not purchase from the big box stores because we thought a local business would offer better service. At the time of the purchase everyone we worked with was very helpful and nice. The first fire blistered the paint right off of the spark guard and it started to rust almost immediately. I contacted the store and they ordered me a replacement. When the replacement arrived it was warped and did not properly fit the fireplace. It was also not of the same quality as the first one. I called called Building Specialities again and the manager gave me the information to contact the manufacturer directly. She told told me iron it will rust and that we don't have to use the spark guard. It was obvious to me that the store manager was done with the situation. I know now that the big box competitors would have offered better service after sale for a better price. Building Specialties of Carolina has a no return policy on outdoor items such as these so we are stuck with a sub-standard product.
