Ron Phillips is a very conscientious owner and gas fireplace installer. He is very professional and shows up on time, which, often is not the case with contractors. After working in the business for other people, Ron started his business approximately six years ago. NW Natural recommended him so I was fairly certain they wouldn't do so without a number of positive reviews. The installation went together in one day. I had some other issues, an old furnace to pull out and some insulation and dry wall replacement to cover the hole in the wall. He did those too with little extra charge. He was originally going to have a subcontractor come and do the tiling. Well, that kept not happening. He had a flaky sub. Not his fault things happen. Well, I succeeded in getting the sub fired. Ron recommended a general contractor Barb Goodrich and she came and did the work for me. Once Barb was in place, the work was done in a day. I would definitely recommend Ron's swift work to anyone considering a gas fireplace insert. read more

From the quote with Ron, scheduling with Joanne, to the finishing touches with Travis, I interacted with probably 8 different people and each one of them were knowledgable, courteous, and professional. I give my highest recommendation for Gas Pro. My ancient gas fireplace was long overdue for service, which resulted in a small but loud expulsion of soot and debris last week. A technician from NW Natural Gas came out and urged me to get it serviced before using it again. A friend had used Gas Pro and had a good outcome. I'm glad I went with them. The service technician, Brandon, was friendly but completely professional and competent. He carefully cleaned and checked out the unit, giving me much-needed advice regarding its use throughout. What excellent service! P.S. Some ac/heating companies (you know who you are) never stop upselling. On phone and in person, Gas Pro did not pressure me to buy one of their products. read more

I wish I had read the reviews on this company before working with them. The project started off just fine. We had GasPro replace our old outdated water heater with a tankless system. When the project manager (Ron, I believe) received the manual for the water heater we bought, he said they didn't install that brand very often and needed to order an extra part which would push our timeline out. It would have been a good time to also mention that the kind of water heater we picked required a special vent pipe that would cost us an extra $1000. Rather than communicate that to us at the time, which would have given us a few extra weeks to come up with the money, he sent us an additional invoice the day they came out for the install. I realize that an estimated invoice is by definition a guess of sorts but I've never had a contractor be off by $1000 and not communicate to me before doing the work. GasPro went the route of doing the work and then asking forgiveness later. I don't know about everyone else, but we aren't the sort of people who just have an extra $1000 lying around. It took us some time to figure out how we were going to recoup the extra cost. I don't think they purposely tried to screw us which is why they get 2 stars, but I think the communication ball was completely dropped and it made all the difference to a couple just getting their start in married life. For some reason they also kept emailing my husband all communication despite my request to be involved in the correspondance. I was the financer. In a word: Disappointing. Promises were made but not kept. NW Natural sent Ron our way. Gaspro installed the insert in January, BUT did not finish it up until today, March 8th. I made the mistake of making final payment before the work was completed. If you're ok with waiting 2 months to get your fireplace installed, I would recommend Gaspro. Otherwise, find another contractor. Also, his son, who did the actual install could not be bothered with taking time to explain the operating procedures. read more

I contacted Gas Pro to install a natural gas BBQ on my deck. It was a pretty straightforward job because the capped gas pipe was already in place. I never managed to get past the receptionist. She kept creating reasons the work could not move forward and making statements that seemed absurdly delaying, like asking if it was a propane BBQ or saying it would take time to order the valve and connection tubing to the BBQ. After working over the phone with her for a period of two weeks I gave up and contacted Wolfers. They took my information and made an appointment for a week later in one phone call. read more

We tried to install a fireplace on our own and clearly didn't know what we were doing and they assessed the situation to figure out all the things we did wrong (and there were a lot!), they came up with a solution to fix them, never made us feel dumb for what we tried to do, showed us along the way so we learned what not to do in the future and did it all with a friendly smile. Called gas pro to ask if they could replace a bad igniter since I was told it was going bad after a service cleaning. And possibly replacing the gas logs. I was told I should contact the company that I had out to clean the fireplace. Sorry lady, if I wanted to call them, I would of. Ron just completed a fireplace insert at my home. In addition to the contracted work he found a heating duct that was not installed properly in the crawl space and fixed it. He subcontracted the tile/hearth work and everything was done in just a few days, which included installing a gas line to the fire box. My wife is hard to please, but she was impressed by their work. They cleaned up after each day too. GasPro was recommended by NW Natural and I can see why they use them. I agree with the review given by Christine D. read more

Just had a gas line installed for a new gas range. Gas Pro did an excellent job from start to finish. Travis showed up on time for the estimate and handled all the paperwork. The technicians showed up the following week on time and completed the installation quickly and efficiently. They also showed up promptly the following week to finish the gas connections after it was inspected. Travis maintained contact with me throughout the entire process and let me know when his people would be there and what they would be doing. Do not use this company. We had to wait over a month just to get a service call. We weren't informed that we would be required to pay at time of service, and the employee performing the service call refused to finish the work when he learned that there wasn't a home owner present who could pay him immediately. Then, instead of an invoice, I received two nasty phone calls within 24 hours, demanding that I call immediately with a credit card number and statements such as "you are the home owner and legally responsible for payment," as though I had previously refused to pay. My take is that this company is focused completely on getting paid, and not at all concerned with the work it performs or its customer service. read more
