I went out of my way to have them fix a small chip in my RV windshield even after my insurance recommended another company. I was not warned of any potential for breakage prior to the attempted repair. The individual who attempted the repair called after the fact and advised me that the windshield cracked while he was attempting the repair. He told me that he was going to check into getting a new windshield.
Two days later they called and advised me that a new windshield would be almost $1600. Glass Doctor (also known as Glass One) assumed no responsibility for making the situation worse. If they would have warned my about the "high stress area" and potential for breakage prior to the repair I wouldn't have let them work on it in the first place. I only wanted to minimize the risk of cracking, hence the initial repair request. I consider myself a reasonable person and attempted to negotiate a more palatable solution but they only were willing to take off $60 because that was the cost of the original chip repair!
My situation may not be the norm, but based on my experience I believe Glass Doctor does not use good business practices and customers should be very cautious. I will update if the situation changes, but for now there is no way that I can recommend using this company. read more
