Nice little joint on the outskirts of Pensacola, FL. Nice bar with some indoor seating and of course the Biergarten. Friendly staff and a little taste before you buy a brew. I had the "Dirty Bastard" Irish Red and the squeeze had the "Bitter Bitch" IPA. I also had the Dark Helmet Schwartzbier. There is a BBQ place and brew supply store next door. Went for a Friday night dinner. The night was perfect for the outside seating. There were a few tables under an overhang and some protection from outside, but quite literally a few. Great for large and small groups with kids or dogs. There was a food truck there with gyros (not sure if the food truck switches on the week) There is a robust beer and a small selection of wine at the main bar. Was pretty quick turn around for our food and appetizer selections. We will be returning another day as long as the weather stays nice!! read more

I went during the German Christmas Market and Pensacola Arts Festival. Apple cider was warm for the cold night. Bought an ornament for my tree and a Gluhwein Mug. They offer strictly outdoor seating from what I could tell. We came on a beautiful night, and they were packed! Definitely looks like the hot spot in western Pensacola. They get 4 stars for a couple reasons... to start, their parking is basically inexistent. We had to park 2-3 blocks away in a neighborhood. Countless cars were parked on the side of the road with half their vehicles in peoples from yards. Homeowners were threatening to call tow trucks. It was just not good. Also, they have very expensive drinks. So if you don't mind spending $8 on a literal shot of wine and almost $30 on a small pitcher of beer, then this is your place to drink. I would get the prices if this place was a nice restaurant where you are served and maybe beach front, but it is none of those things. If I were to go back, it would be to visit, chat & play cornhole....not drink. read more

Gary opened a Biergarten, acht mien gott. It's no ordinary beer garden, its magical. You'd think you were in a beautiful park drinking great beer. I have a lot to be negative about as five years ago I went there to find out about brewing my own, who ever I dealt with snubbed me like a red headed stepchild and I never went back. Juxtapose 2018 and a friend said you gotta go to this place, they have events, great beer and food trucks. This place rocks, the owner is super friendly and the Biergarten is going to take-off very soon. Ambiance is a 12 on a 7 scale. The beer outstanding the food truck I'll rate separately. read more

Love this place! I came through looking for some good hop varietals and was immediately impressed. This store has a great layout with just about everything you could possibly need for home brewing, building your own setup and exploring the world of beer. And wine! They've started carrying wine making kits and having wine classes. They have a great tap setup in one room for tasting beers and filling growlers. There is an expansive list of grain, hops and yeast strains, and the staff is happy to talk to you about any of them. They have a fool-proof order sheet that you can fill out an turn in and they'll happily get you all set up. You can have your grain bill milled or not, mixed or separate, however you need it. Gary's is definitely worth the hour drive for me to spend my paycheck on beer-making supplies. read more

Awesome hangout on the Westside! Very chill atmosphere......with an outstanding selection of beers and wines (many made on site). They have done a great job putting this together. The amount of land and space they have for entertaining is insane. We stopped by during a rather steamy afternoon so we didn't want to exert any more energy than necessary when sitting. However, sitting in the shade surrounded by a somewhat tropical forest was very relaxing. They have multiple tables available, shaded and not, tons of backyard games, and a nice music selection playing in the background. The beertender was nice-ish, but didn't have much of a personality for guests. Maybe I just need to get over the fact that not everybody can be as friendly as Midwesterners working in a brewery. Either way, we ordered a few beers, but the Hazy IPA was fairly enjoyable minus the very yeasty appearance of my pour. It didn't seem to effect my drinking ability but I didn't not finish it based on all the residue built up on the bottom. They do have solid beer selection which can cover a large population of beer drinkers. I hope to visit again but in the cooler months when I am in town. read more
