Good haircut, lather shave, interesting conversation with some of the nicest folks in Conroe. These folks love America, and they love Texas. They honor verterans. They respect the elderly. That said, was Sooo cool to visit the oldest (103 years) Barber Shop in the State of Texas today. Southern hospitality with a hint of Southern California swagger…read more I've been all over. I've had my haircut from a lot of people. I have to say (contrary to popular belief) that Southern California barbers do it differently. Normally you get one of two things, you either get a great haircut but no personal connection, or you get a great connection and an alright haircut. This place provides both, and I can appreciate that. When I say I'm a barber snob, I mean it, and I'm unapologetic about it. I've been cutting hair for the better part of a decade, and I know when someone is not confident, and incompetent. Annie is nothing of the sort. The shop is clean and welcoming. Very speakeasy style, which I can appreciate. The staff is very enthusiastic and kind, and made great conversation. They understand hair and understand the intricacies behind the art that is barbering, making for a great haircut. If you're looking for a place to get your haircut, or hang out with good people, this is the place.

Not to add this is 100% the worst haircut I have ever had in my entire life. The lady spoke almost no english, and when I thought she was giving me the mvp treatment out of pity for such a terrible haircut, she actually just gave it to me so she could charge me the highest possible price. When I argued about it she said I was the one who asked for the wash and massage. Unreal. This would get one star but Allie who works there was able to take over and make it look a little better than the disaster this other buffoon left. Props to you Allie you were incredibly helpful and understanding. Haircut still looks like shit and I'm meeting friends this weekend I haven't seen in almost a year.
