Avoid this shop!! SCAM ARTISTS. Gary's Auto Collision has been holding my partner's car hostage for EIGHT MONTHS with no work being done. John, the owner refuses to release the car despite NO work being performed on the car. I and my boyfriend have called John and the shop over 200 times. No response. He has quoted $158,913.00 in STORAGE FEES and filed a false lien for $60,000+. Despite no work being performed. The work verbally quoted was only $4000. He doesn't abide by BAR standards and is a conman. We are now in the process of suing just to get the car back. I would absolutely hate for something like this to happen to another person. I am begging you to avoid this shop!You hear of horror stories of mechanics... but I've never in my life heard something like THIS! read more

I had my Toyota 4Runner repaired at Gary's after an insurance claim. The team did fight hard with the insurance company, and the final repair work looks good. However, due to the long repair time (over 3 months), I incurred extra rental car costs. Staff verbally promised to reimburse me for the amount beyond insurance ($1,854.17). I picked up the car on March 12, 2026, followed up multiple times including an email on April 29 and a certified letter on May 4, but as of today, May 20, 2026, I still have not received the promised reimbursement. I hope they will honor their commitment soon. read more

I selected Garys Auto Collision Center because of the 5 star review, unfortunately I had a very bad experience. 2014 Honda Accord minor damage. Garys quote $10618! It should not matter how a customer is paying but with Gary, paying cash means "new parts" while using insurance means "aftermarket" or "used" parts. Unfortunately, I lost my job and I told Gary I can no longer afford to pay cash and have to go with insurance. Gary was upset and had to "return" brand new Honda parts because insurance only accepts "aftermarket or used" parts since it's a 2014 Accord . Since I didn't have auto uninsured collision coverage, I was denied by insurance. So, I told Gary if I can pay cash with the same "used" parts price. He responded that they don't make aftermarket parts and no used parts are currently available and have to increase the price back to $10,618. Desperately finding ways to save on cost, I informed Gary that I tested the headlights myself and I don't need to purchase a new one. Gary said okay and he will not replace the headlights and bring down the price to $9,300. Then I informed him that his website boasts about being able to repair plastic bumpers without the need to replace to save, Gary said he has no idea what I am talking about (see website photo). Since I still cannot afford it, I told Gary that I will have my vehicle towed out of his shop. He said that I will have to pay a hefty storage fee of $65/day. I said okay I will pay. Then he said, actually the price is now $95/day because interest rates are high (interest rates are all time low). I had no choice but to pay the ransom because I needed my vehicle out of there. I told Gary that I am ready to pay for the storage fees, he told me that I had to come in person to sign the papers. I asked him how is it okay for me to sign for the repairs via email but not for storage fees. He responded, okay and that I can pay via email. Really disappointed how dishonest a person can be during the holidays. So this was a $1300 mistake. It doesn't help that during the holidays I will have no job, no car, and now minus $1300. The only good news is, I found a shop today that gave me an in person quote of $2500 for the total repair. I hope no one else will have the same horrible experience that I experienced. John went to back and forth with insurance and got them to cover it. Also repaired rear quarter panel at the same time out-of-pocket. I had a minor hit in the bumper, so AAA sent me to caliber collision and they straight out told me they couldn't help me because they don't work with electric cars, so AAA sent me to Gerber collision to get a quote they wanted to keep my truck without giving a quote, so I desired to get a quote to Gary's collision . John sent an email to AAA and they approved the work. So John told me it was going to take 3 days for me to get the truck back , but my truck is an electric truck so I got a message saying my truck had a collision warning, so John called me asking for an extra day . , but AAA told me : well that's the shop you pick. Pretty much washing their hands if the issue didn't get fix , but guess what John figured it out. He said it was a challenge for him. Good job John and thank you for your help. read more

Of course, 2020 ended with me getting T-boned! While, I'm grateful that it wasn't worse, I had to deal with getting my car repaired--which we all know is a headache. Because of this and because I'm attached to my car, I was willing to go about 30min out of my way to take my car to Gary for repairs. I heard about this shop through word-of-mouth and decided to message him through Yelp. He responded very quickly the same day--within 10min, I reckon. I was able to bring my car in that afternoon for an appraisal! Gary was very considerate of what I wanted with my car, which I appreciate! He was very transparent in discussing the repairs and showed me everything that was going into the estimate. Knowing that I was going to need a rental car, he suggested waiting until after the holidays for the repairs so that my car wouldn't be sitting in the shop and not get worked on while I was paying for a rental--thank you! I also decided to go ahead and get the paint restored on the entire car since it was in bad shape. Gary was honest with his recommendations and was very reasonable in terms of cost. On the day I dropped off my car, Gary even called the rental car company down the road to have them come and pick me up. Great service!! While my car was in the shop, he sent me picture updates of the progress. When it was essentially done, we walked around the car together to make sure I was satisfied with the work. He also made honest recommendations about waiting to get the car polished so the paint could set--I had to come back a few weeks later, but I was ok with this because I wanted it done right. They even restored my headlights without an additional charge. I also brought in a bumper protector, which they installed for me. Additionally, Gary's given me great advice on how to better maintain the paint on my car. Again, the service here has been great--above and beyond my expectations. For me, having peace of mind is important when it comes to my car and I definitely felt reassured taking it here. Hopefully, I won't need to come back anytime soon, but I feel good knowing that I have a good collision shop to go to just in case. read more

I don't live in Valencia/Santa Clarita so I stumbled across Gary's after yelping for the closest auto collision shop since my car was practically not drivable. Aight buckle up cuz this is gonna be a long review fam Meet my 2008 Honda Civic, Smoothie. Sure civics are the most common car but this one is mine. Been in my fam for 10 years and been with me half that time. Smoothie is one of my best friends, my loyal steed, and my staunch protector from other bad cars. If I was Mulan he'd be my Khan (her horse!) I swear y'all this car has a personality- my sassy guardian angel. He's had to see lots of mechanics over the years, and his reactions always ranged from mild tolerance (oil changes, bumper, etc) to downright rejection (he even rejected Honda's paint job- he rusted it off). He's always a difficult one the mechanics couldn't fix. He was getting old-- his paint started to rust, his bumpers not pretty, and his trunk and gas gauge was broken... for like years. He was really not happy. I know because usually he honks when I lock him. he stopped honking. A lot of ppl tried fixing him but it didn't work. Things looked grim. And then came Gary. Dudes, this shop was so so good. I work full time and live a bit far, but they are open to working with you and being adaptable with providing quotes. They were willing to give me a quote over email! I told them about Smoothie and they just GOT it. They got the fact that I care about my car as if it was my own extension. I met Gary himself. Now I've met lots of mechanics but this man is no mere mechanic. HE'S A SORCERER He's a second gen mechanic specializing in auto and body repairs. He's loved cars since he can remember and he's genuinely passionate about his craft. He's proud of his work because honestly? That shit is fucking pro and he deserves to be. I saw it. He just has a talent for cars. He knows them. My broken gas gauge and trunk were unstoppable.... until Gary. He inspected Smoothie with the precision of a seasoned surgeon and within an hour he got my gas gauge to lock and fixed my trunk (which was hanging open for yearssss). Right on the spot. I WAS SHOOK Y'ALL Another amazing thing about Gary is that he's straight up honest. I felt that he cares about the car's best interest. I know nothing about cars and he could've sold me what I was asking for, or even sold me more. But he didn't. He wasn't going for the sale. He gave me advice about how to take care of Smoothie as best as possible. He diagnosed a preventable (but huge problem) for my car. HIS QUOTE WAS SO FAIR OMG. It was so reasonably and fairly priced- $820 for a paint job, gauge fixing and a wheel liner. Other shops offered less repairs for $1200, and they fixed my car with cardboard, unlike Gary: he even hooked me up with rentals during repairs! Ps guys: don't let your cars rust. I was rear ended right before the Holidays. Of course my insurance company pushes their Gold Shops (franchise). Not being a fan having used them in the past I looked around town. Read the reviews on Yelp and decided to give Gary's a call. Spoke to Gary and stopped by, I liked the shop and the team. I told my insurance I wanted Gary's and they said okay. I call and speak to Greg and he tells me that they are closing December 24 and won't be open until after the New Year. My car was drivable so I'm glad he was honest as I would have had no car over the holidays and might have been paying for a rental for nothing. I brought it in Monday January 4th and picked it up Friday the 8th. All I can say is WOW. They left if better then before my collision. This shop is very good and very bad. The GOOD: Gary is a nice guy. Friendly, quick with a smile, nice clean shop, good on the phone, he enjoys what he does. The BAD: I have been going to this shop for years. When I first started going, the quality of work was very good. I had an uncle that owned a body shop for 30+ years and now he's retired so I'm familiar with very good work. In recent years, the quality of work has unfortunately deteriorated. When a repair is complete, the reinstallation of parts (doors, bumpers, windows, clips, screws, trim pieces) is poor. They either don't align or they were simply installed incorrectly. His paint and materials are high quality, but unfortunately the preparation process and finishing process must be kept in high standard or else you will get overspray, debris in the paint, bubbles in the paint, and not a smooth clean finish. In all fairness, Gary's guys can do a very good job. They can. But in recent experiences, they are slacking on quality. It only takes a bit more effort to transform from a "just okay place with problems" to a very good shop. They just need to try harder. I did bring up these problems to Gary (specifically parts that don't align or were mishandled, or installed incorrectly and he said, "Well, that's the way they go on." It's not. I can simply park my car next to the same year/make/model vehicle that has never had an accident and you can clearly see the repair issues. The goal is, after an accident, to bring the car back factory condition. The magic of a body shop is not being able to tell that a car has had a repair in the first place. Or as close to that standard as possible. But if you can clearly see problems after a repair has been made. That's not okay. I hope things get better. They can get better. Just care more. Car repairs are never fun and rarely easy. I wish I could say I haven't had to experience this much, but I live and drive in Southern California and bumps n scrapes are gonna happen. As I tell my husband day in and day out, if you ain't rubbin you ain't racin. And then he tells me to stop racing. Anyhow, Gary and his staff were very professional and helpful. They looked after my Sasha while she was in the shop and returned her looking sharp. Even with all the problems locating my stripe decals, Kristina and Gary kept me informed and helped me as much as possible. This is a busy shop and rightly so. They do excellent work. My car was hit in the parking lot right before new years. Based on the yelp reviews I took my car to Gary. Right off the bat I was impressed with Gary. He has some of the best customer service skills I've ever seen. The bad part- being in this type of business you would think attention to detail is one of their strongest attributes ; however when I picked up the car... There was quite a bit wrong. Scratched interior speaker cover (he replaced it- free) Leather seats had smudge marks.( One of the guys has filthy pants and got in the vehicle a few times.) Window tint had light scratches ( tint was less than a month old) Chrome around the windows had scratch marks The plastic holders that hold the rubbersill were reused which some were broken. Caused the sill to sag. They stated they waxed and polished my vehicle however when I checked, it definitely was not since it had quite a bit of marks. Mark in the interior of the door. The job took 10 days longer than the estimated time. Keep in mind, this is a brand new $60k vehicle- less than 2 months old with less than 1500 miles. Although Gary is awesome, and tried to fix everything... Im fearful the quality of the job may not be as good as I expected. One thing I forgot to add- Gary did give me a $50 discount for the inconvenience. read more
