I don't know where to begin. I had breast reduction surgery on May 6, 2025 today is January 1,…read more2026. As I sit here and compose this post, I am still in Pain. It has been an ongoing ordeal. I noticed the first onset of something festering around June 6, 2025 about a month after the surgery. I had a scabby very painful area that I took a photo of and sent to the office and informed them of the pain.. I was told to just put vitamin E ointment on it it was just a spit stitch. That stitch turned into cellulitis, which caused me to have to go to Urgent Care and to the ER To have a drained. Twice. After two rounds of heavy duty antibiotics for 10 days and shots of antibiotics I thought maybe I was going to ok. The ER doctor suggested that I go back to Dr sessions to have additional drainage performed to prevent the pus from building up and bursting. I went back to Dr sessions unfortunately, he did not drain it. The Abscess ended up bursting later that night. It became an abscess the size of a half dollar. My primary caregiver has been proactive and trying to help me. I do not know what's going to happen. My primary caregiver says that it probably needs to be opened back up As he thinks that there are tunnels that have formed... from the infection, not being treated immediately. I cannot recommend in Good merit this establishment. The pain that I am feeling right now I cannot begin to tell you. Please take care and do your due diligence before you have surgery here he does not use drains for breast reduction, I had no idea how important having drains for breast surgery is. Until I have been going through this pain. From inadequate drainage. May have led to the infection. There were many opportunities that I was notifying them that I was having burning tingling itching pain that should've been a red flag for Any medical professional. Having a surgeon that is proactive and aggressive with respect to infections is very important.

After encounters with two different providers, I have cancelled all future visits for the sake of my health. I was initially prescribed multiple regimens that only made my condition worse. When I was unable to see the doctor for two months, I saw a Nurse Practitioner who proceeded to prescribe medications I am explicitly allergic to. Even after I reiterated several times that I could not take them, she refused to provide alternatives. Ignoring a known allergy is dangerous and negligent. At the end of my visit, I requested a standard 'After Visit' paper with written directions for my medical care. I was told 'that's not how they do things.' Refusing to provide a patient with written instructions for their health--especially while dealing with infections and medications--is completely unprofessional. Furthermore, they do not validate parking. It is sad that nearby coffee shops and sushi restaurants offer validation, yet a medical facility receiving referrals refuses to cover the cost for its patients. I will not be returning. If you value clear communication, clinical accuracy, and basic patient safety, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.

After being told I had an 87% chance of having breast cancer and seeing my mom go through it 3 times, I knew I had to be proactive to possibly save my life. Dr.Apostolides came highly recommended by women in a Facebook support group and by other scripps hospital doctors who were familiar with his work and said he was the best for reconstruction. They were absolutely right! It's so traumatic to basically have parts of your body amputated , especially in your 30s and while I knew having mastectomies wouldn't be pretty, I didn't feel like the reconstruction of my breasts had to be terrible as well. Women deserve to look in the mirror and feel beautiful, not just feel alive. Dr. A instantly settled my nerves when I met him, and answered all of my questions and concerns. I left his office feeling empowered and confident about my future for the first time since my diagnosis. ( The other plastic surgeon I met with at UCSD left me crying in her parking lot.) A few days ago I had my 2nd stage implant reconstruction and although I know it takes time to settle, I'm floored by how beautiful my new breasts look thanks to him. We worked together to create my goal outcome and he delivered beyond my expectations. While I hope you never have to meet him because of cancer, I recommend you look no further for your plastic surgery needs, especially when it come to breast surgery.
