It's not like we're made of money, and it's a hard pill to swallow, but it had to be done and I can't imagine it going any better or in a more timely fashion than this team. I called yesterday afternoon when we discovered the pump was no longer pumping. They were out here before the end of day and troubleshot the problem. They were back first thing this morning with all the tools and equipment they could need and had the replacement project wrapped up shortly after lunch. Our pump is running, tank filling, I'll be able to do the dishes and take a shower before dinnertime. The crew, from office staff to the two young men who came out to do the work, were friendly, professional, and understood that no pump means no water, an issue not only for rural residents, but all the animals we support out here. It's nice to work with a locally owned company with so many years of experience in the area that they know the wells like they know their own children. I hope I don't have to call for another decade, but if I do, I know who I'll be calling.

The well was installed in 2018 and is only seven years old, so I immediately began seeking professional help. I first attempted to contact the original installer. For about a week, my calls went unanswered. Eventually, I located the installer's name, John, on the original 2018 invoice. After two to three more days, he finally returned my call and informed me that he had sold his business two years earlier and could not assist. He advised me to find another company. Over the next several months, I contacted at least five different well‑service companies, repeatedly calling and pleading for help. All five eventually came to my property: Two companies inspected the well but found nothing. They admitted they lacked experience with this type of system and said a senior technician would contact me for further diagnosis. No one ever followed up. Three companies claimed the "LOP" error meant my well had completely dried out. Without performing any meaningful diagnostic work, they recommended drilling a brand‑new well. Each visit lasted less than 30 minutes, yet I was charged between $780 and $1,300 per visit, with no resolution and no accurate diagnosis. By early August, after three months without water, thousands of dollars spent, and no reliable help, I was extremely discouraged and ready to give up. A family friend then referred me to Independent Well Drilling (IWD). I called without expecting much, but to my surprise, someone answered within two rings. After hearing my situation -- no water for three months -- he immediately gave me the direct number of his owner, Chuck, and urged me to call him right away. Chuck responded promptly, exchanged a few text messages with me, and arrived the very next day. After inspecting the well for less than 15 minutes, he told me confidently that this was not a dry‑well issue. He suspected a pump or pipe failure and recommended a full inspection, including pulling the pipe and using a camera to examine the 400‑ft‑deep well. I agreed, and two days later Chuck sent his team -- Shawn (manager), Abey, and Eddy. Their professionalism and efficiency were exceptional. Within two hours, they pulled all 400 feet of galvanized pipe from the well and discovered: A large hole in the pipe Extensive rust throughout the pipe Significant debris and unknown materials inside the well Approximately 70% of the well screen blocked by sand and other materials Despite the severe damage, there was one very important piece of good news: Shawn measured the water level and confirmed the well was not dry at all. In fact, the water level was at 42 feet, which is excellent for a 400‑ft well -- meaning the well remained highly productive. Shawn recommended a full well rehabilitation, including cleaning out all debris and replacing the old metal pipe with PVC, which will not rust. I approved the work. Day 1: Full inspection and diagnosis Day 2: Complete well cleaning and debris removal Day 3: Installation of new PVC pipe, reassembly of the system, and a simplified setup to make future maintenance easier After reassembly, Shawn's team ran the well for over an hour. The water pressure remained strong and stable the entire time. Before leaving, Shawn checked all my irrigation lines to ensure proper pressure for my garden and backyard. They cleaned up the entire work area thoroughly -- not a single piece of debris left behind. After four months of frustration, incorrect diagnoses, and unnecessary expenses, Independent Well Drilling finally identified the real problem and restored my well to full functionality. I want to sincerely thank Chuck, Shawn, Abey, and Eddy for their hard work, honesty, and efficiency. I truly wish they had been the first company I called. Although my garden and trees suffered during these months without water, I am grateful that my well is now fully operational again -- and it is never too late to have it working properly.

Drilling a well is kind of like having a root canal. At some point in your life you may need to do…read moreit, but you are never going to look forward to it. Drilling a well is expensive and messy, with the results left mainly to chance. No one will guarantee you will achieve the well yields you are looking for. So, faced with these challenges the last thing you need is the added complexity of hiring a drilling contractor that isn't 100% straight and upfront with you. Let's face it...... most of us will only drill one well in our lifetime, so you will never have the chance to become expert at it. Indeed, we were complete novices. All we knew was our current low producing well was not producing ANY water anymore. Augie from Guardino came up to our property within a day of the first phone call and spent about an hour explaining the process to me. Augie gave us a worst case scenario quote due to the known difficulties of drilling in our area, and despite the large cost and no guarantee of finding water, we went ahead and started the process mainly because I felt confident that we knew what we were getting ourselves into. It felt like we were about to start an adventure together as partners. All permits, and inspections (pre and post) were handled completely by Guardino and all communications were done quickly through email and/or text, which is just perfect for me. We started drilling ahead of the original schedule and experienced a rollercoaster few days, starting with walls collapsing in on very expensive drill bits, to lots of dust and prayers, to the most unlikely and amazing outcome we could ever have imagined. In short, we achieved a staggering 80gals/minute (v's the original goal of 4~5 gals/minute, v's our previous wells 0.5gals/minute output). We achieved this at half the depth we expected, and even with adding a new pump, christy box (as the well was in the middle of a driveway) and pressure tank, we ended up coming in at half the original quote. From first drill to completion took around 5 days, and that included decommissioning the old well. After completion we received all of the required permits and paperwork in both electronic form as well as a nice physical binder so that in future we have all of the info for the well easily at hand. Augie kept checking in on us for a few weeks just to make sure everything was still working as we thought it would. It feels like we have a whole new property as we can now consider growing things and planting real grass for our dogs. In summary, this was a traumatic and stressful process and I don't think anyone should underestimate what it takes to drill a well. However, it was made a painless as possible by having Augie and Guardino with us every step of the way. This review is not for the result. That was up to fate and your mileage will vary greatly depending on your terrain. The review is for the service and support we got from Augie.

Since the installation, we had a few problems with the solar setup. Augie was always super-responsive, and ensured that any issues were resolved very quickly. This is a company that is about much more than just drilling holes and moving on, their long-term support is excellent.

I checked what I could check and did what I could so, but the end result was still no water. When I called Mike, he answered immediately and gave some advice on things to try. He was in and out of cell range, and it was nearly closing time for him on a Saturday, but I followed his suggestions to no avail, called him back with a better connection, and he said he'd come out that afternoon. He showed up in the heat of the day, around 95 degrees and set to work. He was informative and helpful, answering every question with confidence and certainty. I learned a lot just watching and listening. Maybe the cleaning of junk out of the relay box that I did set the stage for success, but shortly he had water coming out of the well and the tanks started to fill again. He showed me a few pointers about things to do if it happened again, and, at my suggestion, we talked about future plans of replacing the 15-year-old well pump and other things to make us water secure for the future. Mark is pleasant to talk to and to listen to, and I will use him without hesitation in the future. He even has easy to use on line payment. He sent me an email invoice before he left, and I had paid him before he got home. Thanks, Mark!
