I'm two weeks post op now from septoplasty with turbinates reduction surgery. I have never breathed better. This surgery was an outstanding success. Dr. Ford used bandage packing after surgery. No stents were used. After three days is a follow up to remove the bandages. Although it was not recommended by the doctor, I pulled them out myself after two days with no ill consequence. The bandages are merely to soak up the blood and stop the bleeding. I am grateful he did not use stents which I heard are in your nose for over a week. I also had trouble getting through to the office as mentioned with other reviews, but if you can get past that, I can recommend Dr. Ford. This man has 40+ years experience which set me a little more at ease. read more

THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE THEY NEVER RETURN MESSAGES This is the most disappointing experience. Dr. Ford's office simply DOES NOT ANSWER THE PHONE. It's been over 1 month of calling at least 3x a day and they not only DON'T answer the phone, but they NEVER call back with my many voice messages. My voicemails are very clear with my name, birth date, insurance #, phone #, and a simple message, but they are all ignored. I need to get surgery and this was the only doctor in my network who was assigned to me, so I'm stuck because they CANNOT BE REACHED BY PHONE. So I'm in a quandary because even if I could possibly get a hold of them for the consultation, I know that the road to getting the surgery, booking follow ups, etc. will be the same. Terrible unprofessional front desk staff and they never answer call nor emails....old school

PLEASE GET A REFERRED SOMEWHERE ELSE! This clinic is a complete waste of time. Called to make an appointment and they said it would take a couple of days to "set up my account." I got a call back after a few days and was scheduled at 12 pm, almost 30 minutes before their lunch . I arrived , was not greeted nor did any front reception say anything. They were all glued to their computers or phone pretending to be busy. I had to peak my head in and just stare and ask do you need to sign in or do I just check in with you? Immediate attitude from the lady. It took 15 minutes for front desk to ask for my insurance card. Keep in mind, my appointment was at 12, it was already now past 12:20. They had their window closed so they wouldn't be bothered. They could have atleast communicated with me and mentioned hey dr is about to go to lunch or I won't be seen until after lunch. Nope, no form of any communication. At 12:25, they start playing music in the back and they dimmed the lights while I was waiting in the waiting room for some type of information. They completely ignored me so I got up and left. Front desk is very unprofessional, all 4 of them need to be removed, especially the lady that was right infront of the window. Company needs to train their employees better and learn to communicate with their patients. How is this business even running, it's embarrassing . read more

I've had so many issues with their receptions, from the first visit to the last visit. This started with their receptionist lying to me over the phone stating that they don't take card payments, only cash, and being quite rude and nasty to my husband who was trying to make the appointment for me while I was at work. I finally get seen, I get ordered to get an ultrasounds. I do. BACK IN AUGUST. So... WHY am I getting a callback about my ultrasound reports NOW?! It's been months! I ask for my records., because I do not have any time in the near future to go in for an appointment to have my results read. I'm informed there's a fee. I get transferred to the practice manager. She informs me that there is a fee and that I still need to go in in person for my records. Mind you, I'm extremely familiar with medical law given that I, too, run a hospital. They wanted to charge me $25 for MY medical records. California Medical Law states they can only charge $0.25 per page and a reasonable clerical fee. $25? Yeah, THAT'S a reasonable clerical fee for printing a few sheets of paper, right? And they also refuse to email your records TO YOU. They will only send them to your provider. So, good luck if you don't have a PCP or use PPO insurance and can go to whatever specialist you'd like to go to without PCP referral. I'm done with this ENT. Keep my records for all I care. Look forward to a Medical Board Complaint. Train your receptionists better, and familiarize yourself with medical laws pertaining to the release of medical records. About 7-8 months ago I called to try to make an appointment for my mother and no one answered. Called a couple of more times and was answered by a girl who apologized about the delay and stated that there was only one person answering multiple calls at once ! Apparently they are short staffed and the poor management doesn't feel the need to hire more people because they don't want to pay more. Only one person answering multiple calls and making appointments. My mother and I later went in for her appointment and we saw first hand that there are only 3 people attending all patients!!!!! The girls who were there were all friendly and professional. I asked for the supervisor on multiple occasions over the phone and in person and it seems like she's never there. I'm a health care worker and office manager one as a manager should always be in the office and available to staff and patients no questions asked. This office would benefit from new office management. Besides that I believe the staff is very friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions and provider Lin was very professional as well. I used to work at this office from Nov 2022- July 2023 and I can honestly say the management here is absolutely terrible. For starters the reason why no one hardly answers the phones is because the office managers (Norma & Sherry) do not want to hire more staff and underpay/overwork the staff that they do have. For example, I was hired to schedule appointment but she did not want to give me a full time schedule because "it wasn't needed". yet patients called to complain that no one was ever there to answer phones. I constantly told her that I needed more hours to help more patients schedule their appointments but she said I can do that within a 5hr time frame. This was unrealistic because we get over 15 calls in under 30min. Every appointment requires 12 minimum timeframe to check insurances and retrieve authorization etc. Along with additional time to call PCP office to retrieve medical records and previous tests (30min). The other girls probably scheduled 2-3 appointments daily because they also have in-office duties like rooming patients or checking in patients. Regardless I understand patients should be upset that they weren't able to get appointments but it's the managers fault (Norma) and not the workers. We were all doing the best we could but unfortunately we were "replaceable" because we demanded fair pay. read more

Honestly the worst. My dad got told @ the hospital he needed to see an ENT specialist b/c there's a possibility of cancer on his throat. Unfortunately, his insurance referred him here. @ the hospital the doctor told my dad that ENT should do a biopsy to see if it was cancer or not & that's why they weren't going to remove the lump/mass he had. Dr.Ford had a look in my dads throat & said "it doesn't look cancerous most likely a cyst" & that there's a possibility of a tracheostomy being done since he needed to do surgery to remove the mass right away b/c according to the doctor it was blocking his airway .. even though my dad was not having SOB or anything like that. Point is I didn't trust his judgement & I canceled the surgery he scheduled (w/my dads consent). I got a second opinion @ UCLA & thankfully they took the proper steps. The Dr @ ucla stated surgery wasn't the right step & it isn't even needed!! Unfortunately, my dad does have cancer. So dr.ford just looking in his throat & assuming it's not wasn't very professional on his end. Also, not listening to our concerns about getting surgery right away like literally the next day?!. Last thing, his NP responded rudely when we asked questions he'd respond w/ "obviously" a lot like yes it's obvious for you but it's completely new to us. Called to make an appointment, had to call about ten times to get somebody on the phone. When I got somebody on the phone, it was the most UNPROFESSIONAL person- proceeded to put me on hold for twenty minutes. She told me 'this is a very busy office.' Ultimately, I refused to go here. If the doctors do not care that their staff is so unprofessional, I can only wonder about their professionalism as well. I had thyroid surgery I was worried at the beginning because of the negative reviews I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue with the surgery but when I met Dr. Ford. And I had a list of questions . He was able to answer all my question . I felt comfortable he seemed knowledgeable and decided to stay with him. If your going to have thyroid surgery he's does a few a week . When I had surgery on Friday he mentioned I was the 3rd one on that week. I'm Still healing... healing pretty good . After surgery you might feel a dry cough /Mucus that's normal . Also make sure you rest your voice today 6 day after surgery and my voice doesn't feel as weak before. Do I recommend this doctor for thyroid surgery ? Yes. read more

I have an HMO insurance plan, so I need to obtain referrals from my primary care physician in order to see a specialist. During my recent physical, my primary care doctor referred me to Dr. Ford for a tonsil issue. Upon receipt of this referral, I contacted Dr. Ford's office to set up an appointment. I called numerous times, but a human never answered my calls. I left numerous voicemails, none of which were ever answered. So after all these calls and messages over the past few weeks, I have given up and will NOT be seeing Dr. Ford. If I can't even trust a doctor's office to answer the phone or return a message, I am not going to trust them with my healthcare. I will be asking my physician for a referral to a better, more qualified professional. read more

Dr. Ford performed my tonsillectomy two years ago and I haven't had any issues since.

That was the ultimately worst doctors visit I've ever had in my life. The staff was entirely unhappy at their job, entirely unprofessional, and Dr. ford cut me off after asking me if I had any more questions 5 times. Ucla er told me I most likely have Ménière's disease. Dr. Ford didn't even want to hear me say ucla. He said I most likely have tinnitus, and passed me a handout. I read through it and found a fact in there and he said the opposite. When I told him I'm just reading from his handout he said "I never read that. Don't listen to what it says." He told me to take anti dizzy meds that ucla prescribed me, which was specifically indicated to take only on onset of dizzyspells. Then he said to schedule with him in two weeks. That was it. I trekked an hour here, waited another hour, and the staff couldn't even give me options to schedule. "That's all we have and if u come on another day it'll be a loooong wait." I asked "why cuz you overbooked?" They said "yes we ALWAYS OVERBOOK" Don't come here the energy is awful, not one staff member has decent customer service and you'd feel better after eating McDonald's stale food than coming here. Sorry to be honest and openly share my experience in this way but as a mental health clinician it drives me crazy to be treated so inhumanely from someone with an honorable degree. this office answers their phone 1 DAY PER WEEK. the phone just rings and rings. that's right.....out of a 40 hour work week, they actually answer phone calls for a whopping 3 hours, on FRIDAY from 9-12. so if you call on monday, you're f_cked. if you call on tuesday, you're f_cked, wednesday you're f_cked, thursday you're f_cked etc etc ad infinitum. called to day with a referral from my primary care physician for a nasty ear infection. called back again, someone with unintelligible voice told me to call back after 12 noon. i told her my ear infection is unbearable and getting worse and asked if they accept walk-ins. The other reviews scared me, but thePA told me Dr Ford is a good doctor, by the book and serious. I found Dr Ford to be very through, took time to explain his diagnosis and went over my nasal CT scan. The other patients are a bit down around the edges and the writing room is not nice. But if Medicare or other insurance sends you here, go bravely. Plus the office staff are sharp and sweet. read more

Please DO NOT GO to this doctor if you don't want to become a cripple!!! My husband had a tumor removal surgery of his neck back in 2015. I don't know what this doctor did but that side of his neck doesn't move as it supposed to. His lower lip has deformed as well. It seems like something went wrong with his nerves. It's been 1.5 years and nothing is changing. We waited thinking that it would get better but now we have no hopes what so ever. I don't know what kind of stuff they have in their office but this review is based on this doctor and his knowledge. I was referred by my Primary Care doctor in July 2015 and had a chronic ear infection for almost 1 1/2 years with drops and a couple visits it cleared up enough to determine there was a hole in my right ear drum and a hearing test was the next step. The closest place they had to send me was in Los Angeles an hour and a half away from my house and that appointment didn't happen until December 2015. The results took another month to get to the doctor. When I made the appointment to go over the results with Dr. Ford his staff kept making my appointments with his physician assistants who would tell me oh you need to see Dr. Ford. I finally saw him in March 2016 to go over the results and he decided to patch the hole a procedure done in his office. The first appointment I made I was a half hour late and they checked with Dr. Ford and he decided he couldn't fit me in now so they told me I would have to reschedule which I understood I was late. So I rescheduled and the next appointment was sometime at the end of April or the beginning of June or July and he tried to patch my ear drum. After a chronic ear infection with constant drainage for over 2 1/2 years now when he stuck a needle in my ear canal to numb it I jerked away it was very painful. He said he didn't know if any of the medicine went in or not and then he picked up the instrument to patch the ear drum with and as soon as it touched my ear drum I flinched again. He got up and said "I can't do this if you don't stay still. Do you want to do this at the hospital instead?" I said, "I guess so." He said "well then we will send you the paperwork in the mail." I never heard from him or his staff again. The infection returned and I ended up right back where I started what a waste of time. read more

This ENT office needs to get it together! They hardly ever answer the phone and only schedule on Fridays between 9a-1p.. You call during those hours and their message says they are not in the office. I saw the PA who was very nice but had none of my testing My doctors office sent to him. He said he would have one of the girls call and get them but then decided not to and told me he was going to be honest that a lot of people were leaving the office and new people were being trained so they miss place papers. He advised me to get copies and hand bring them in myself to the next appointment. He referred me for testing and the referral was never processed. I have left several messages for them to never be returned. Even with going through change of staff etc Dr. Ford should make sure hes staff is doing what they should to make sure all patients are taken care of! The staff I did get a chance to talk to were very rude and tried to tell me that it takes 3 weeks for approval, no the hell it doesn't. I work at a Doctors office and it takes no longer than 3 days from the time the referral is submitted. Definitely should not take longer than a week. We also would never treat our patients like that! read more

My son was schedule for Surgery. I was advised by the office that he would be the first one as they go by the youngest to the oldest. When registering at the hospital they advised the clinic had submitted the list and he was number four. It was already 10:00 a.m. and my son had not been seen. My son is two years old and he was asking for food. I asked the nurse the statues and they told me it would not be another hour until he would be seen. I advised that is not what they told me at the clinic when we went over the surgery. I advise I was going to complaint about it. Dr. Ford called me and said he was not going to complete the surgery as I was going to complaint about him. He told me to leave with my son because he was tired of u parents always wanting your kids to go first. I told him I was sorry If I said anything wrong. I told him my son needed the surgery He said He would think about it if he would do it or not. After that I decided to leave because there was no way a doctor who made an oath to save lives will act in that matter. I would not let a man like that put a finger to my child.
