This dealership has been my go-to for recalls for my beloved Hyundai Tucson. I did not purchase my vehicle here but I will check them first when the time comes to replace my current vehicle (which I love!). The service area is immaculate! You could eat off the floor in the spacious and comfortable waiting room which, by the way, has a nice selection of coffee, tea and soft drinks ... plusa popcorn machine! New problem; paint is peeling from the roof and hood in small chards right down to the bare metal. This is on the manufacturing, not the dealership but think again about buying one of these cars. Researched the issue and it seems to be a big problem for Hyundai car owners. Multiple reviews have also said that corporate headquarters has no interest in resolving the problem as their 3yr/36,000 warrantee has expired. Unfortunately, the paint begins to peel after 3 years. 1) I discovered a crack in my windshield as I drove home after my purchase. When I contacted the sales person the asked "How fast were you driving". Windshield failed and was replaced. Garvey didn't care. 2) They did not put my new registration sticker on the new car. Instead, they very carefully removed the registration sticker from one of the cars I traded in. Garvey did some warranty work for me a year ago and it was great. Now Hyundai has finally agreed to cover the peeling paint under warranty. I called Garvey, and it was 6 weeks before they could even LOOK at it. When I arrived, I was ignored by 3 service reps for 90 seconds. It's like I was invisible. One finally offered to help. I got the car looked at but was told they couldn't get to it for MONTHS. By then, the warranty would be expired. They sent me to Lia, who completed the work the next week. My 20 year old daughter bought her first newer car from Garvey Hyundai. It was a 20 ford eco sport. I found out that alot of newer vehicles do not come equipped with spare tires, which blows my mind, but the do some with a patch kit. Except since it wasn't a new car purchase the didn't even bother to check if everything was in the kit. A patch kit is less than 20 bucks for a large kit. And they couldn't be bothered to replace what was missing. read more

After several months of doing exhaustive searches and research, I landed on Garvey Hyundai for a few reasons: 1) When, during a chip shortage, all dealerships in the tri-state area have been charging 10k+ over the MSRP, Garvey remained dedicated to it's customers over a cheap shot for profiting on people's hardships and charged the regular MSRP 2) Great reviews 3) I was able to get the car of my (realistic) dreams in about 6 weeks, when many people were on wait lists several months long Mostly, I was attracted to Garvey's commitment to customer service. Not only did they offer the car I wanted at MSRP, they gave money off of it! It was a well worth-it 3-hour drive from NYC but I was able to score my prized 2022 Hyundai Tucson Limited trim Plug-In Hybrid Vehicle (PHEV). The saleswoman who helped me was Sam, and was always upfront and kind, let alone ridiculously responsive. Seemingly no matter what time I emailed or texted, she was responding basically before I could even hit "send". They do not research warranties. They also do not not follow them. My car was brought in an was told the steering was broken under warranty. When my husband brought it in they said that it was my steering and it would cost 6500 dollars My husband showed them the recall ( which they were pissed to be shown) They then stated that they would fix it in 3 stages. If they put the 1 part in and I quote" If It Happens Again " bring it back?? Scary.... Then we'll go to step 2 Then I did bring it back after stating that it doesn't drive anywhere as smooth as it did... instead of doing step 2 they said my car was fine and I wasn't used to the new part. Worked with Jesse Maiolo in sales. Even in this crazy car market, they sold at MSRP with zero nonsense charges, protection packages, or other bait and switch type markups. I was able to handle nearly the entire transaction over email and car arrived sooner than expected. I purchased a used vehicle, along with the extended warranty on the vehicle. Was looked directly in the eye by Don C. and was told warranty was "Better than warranties on the new vehicles". He repeated over and over BUMPER to BUMPER coverage! Boy was this the biggest lie ever!!!! Had a couple engine issues with the vehicle - one of which I was told "We will have to call and see if it is covered."- Like What! Corrine in service department was very unprofessional and quite rude to me during this time. Was also told that the service department does not always know who purchases the extended warranty- how is extended warranty information that a customer pays for NOT passed on to the "SERVICE" Department! BOTTOM LINE- DON'T FALL FOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY BY HIM OR ANYONE ELSE! I would suggest making them work and provide you in writing with EVERYTHING that is covered and EXACTLY what is not covered - LIKE ANY DIAGNOSTICS to see what and where the problem is! DON'T TAKE THEIR WORD! They will try to charge you an amount like $5,000.00 with a $200.00 deductible - LAUGH AT HIM PLEASE! DON'T DO IT! I quickly got him to drop it to $2,000.00 with a $50.00 deductible. Had oil change done by them and NOPE- not even a sticker in my window showing when the next one is due- must be they don't want me back - no worries- I am now working on a couple of things ... 1. This has to be one of the most dishonest car dealerships I've ever dealt with, my girlfriend bought a beautiful kitted 2022 Hyundai Sonata with red details. She and the sales rep test drove the vehicle and whilst in conversation my girlfriend asked if everything on this car was included in the buy, she responded yes and they proceeded with the sale. There were a few things that needed to be fixed and touched up and they stated the car would not pass NY state inspection with its after market duel exhaust, she understood had them put the stock one back on and carried on. When the car was delivered she opens the trunk to find the after market rims that were originally on the car before the change, but she was missing bolts for the after market rims and also missing the after market duel exhaust. She makes a phone call only to be told "it's in there" and when pictures were sent that it was not in or on the vehicle the sales rep said "i'll have to ask service and i'll get back to you". They then tell my girlfriend 3 different SKETCHY lies. 1. It's somewhere in the shop they can't find it 2. They said " it's a 20$ part you can get anywhere" 3. NY state won't allow you to have it on your vehicle because its "illegal" Then they finally tell her it has been shipped out.. they took a part of her vehicle without her verbal or written consent and sold it and shipped it somewhere else. She has made multiple phone calls with no return. Makes an appearance only to have to call the police to have the receipt paper work handed over because the manager REFUSED to give it to her THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE. The sales rep also said she cannot further discuss the issue nor can the service manager. They have been dishonest, unfair and uncooperative about this whole process when they could have just been genuine and honest from the beginning and explained the situation. All she was looking for was why it was just sold without her consent and where is it. They caused this entire problem themselves. All it took was the truth ,instead they want to be DIRTY GRIMY LIARS and sell a whole part off of someone else's car, profit off of it and also cause a whole issue for no reason. This place definitely has some sketchy sh*t going on and they are having employees cover it up. This is not how you run an honest business! DO BETTER GARVEY HYUNDAI!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! We did our shopping and looked at Honda and Subaru, both brands we have enjoyed in the past, but this car had everything. Horrible experience! Bought a certified vehicle here. Vehicle made noise under body off and on and rolled 1-2 feet when put in park. Service dept said nothing was wrong. Almost ran over my kid with the problem, went back, was assured, that they would take care of it. Was supposed to get even trade, got $10,000 upside down, with another vehicle with multiple issues. When I spoke to manager, "Shane", he stated that they'd sell me another car, but, couldn't do anything about the problems that I had. I'm so done with this dealership!! went in to get a key made as i locked mine in the trunk. They said sure no problem, was just under $20. Great! But it didnt work. FIVE TIMES it didnt work. As in FIVE TIMES the key that they gave me would not open the trunk. So by the time I spend the WHOLE DAY going back and forth....trying to get a key because my purse is in the trunk....along with my cash... they said oh well, we are closing...but wait...I still have no key. And they have my money. But they wont give it back because its saturday...apparently they will take your cash payment on saturday but they wont give you a cash refund on saturday. EVEN THOUGH I explained that I had a camp lodge full of young girls nearby, and really needed to get in the trunk....or at least get my cash back....no, they didn't care. So they leave, I call locksmith who says sure I can make you a key for $145, because by now, after hours. Called Garvey back said I needed a key code, got well what do you think we have, all the numbers for all the hyundais? Well no, but I think you have a computer smartypants. Asked for the number to Fuccillo, where I bought the car originally, got hung up on.
