There are several reasons for this, but I will just include the most consequential. After a few recent visits I wondered and had to ask "When will Dr. Ashley be back? To learn from the receptionist Amy, who is still amazing, that Dr. Ashley left the Folsom office and now practices in Roseville. Is it normal or ethical to leave a patient without any notification? I've always only needed cleanings until the current dentist wanted to put in a crown for a hairline crack called a craze line, that Dr. Ashley kept an eye on year after year. I did not want a crown, but she seemed very sure it was needed. So she drilled and drilled until she concluded that I did not need a crown. I am hopeful this has not compromised the integrity of my tooth. The last visit the dental assistant/hygienist was visibly upset as I was 7 minutes late. She raced to the exam room talking to, well, an empty room as I was walking down the hall. Once in the room she told me "I'll do what I can in the time we have left". I was 7 minutes late. I have waited more than double or triple at times for my appointment. I have never complained. I left my concerns with Amy and leaving without getting my cleaning. I used to actually like coming here. Imagine that in a dentist office! I never heard back from Dr. Ashley or anyone in the office. I can no longer recommend Smile & Co.

These poor people have only ever seen the uptight ball of nerves version of me. Dr. Roth and every single person I have encountered over the years on his staff has only ever treated me with the utmost level of compassion. I vibrate with fear even for cleanings, let alone the intricate work Dr. Roth has had to do on my mouth through the years and he and his lovely team always show me patience and dignity. My fears are literally so unfounded (though ever present much to my chagrin) at this point as he is so gentle, kind and thorough in his work, as are the hygienists. They always switch up their tools/cleaning to accommodate my anxiety and never make me feel guilty even if it costs them time. I have been to other offices and have noticed staff is almost irritated at having to deal with my state of mind, I leave feeling embarrassed. At Dr. Roth's I leave feeling a little braver and so cared for. Dr. Roth also seems to be very careful about who he lets into his work family, as I mentioned, every single human I have encountered as been professional, kind and patient. Finally, it is such a vulnerable feeling to sit in that chair and open your mouth; we have to be able to trust our physicians and course of care they recommend to us. I have been to other offices and clearly been oversold unnecessary services and treated callously. Dr. Roth has always provided his professional opinion with explanations, different treatment options and his office always works to find a way to make it work for my family financially. I currently live over an hour away and will continue to commute to place my and my family's dental care in his trusted hands. We only wish we could find equally reliable, knowledgeable and trusted physicians for the rest of our care team ie GP etc!

It was a traumatizing experience and they went the extra mile to make sure that I was comfortable and calm. I live in San Francisco and was up visiting family and can confidently say that I will be coming back up for all dental services because of my experience. Not only did they stay after hours to take care of me, but the bedside manner was a 20/10. I also left with teeth that look better than they ever did. I was on the hunt for a new dentist, after being out of health benefits for the past 9 months or so and my last cleaning was little over a year ago. I managed to find this place and compared Google and Yelp reviews- and it didn't disappoint! The fact that they reserve emergency and new patient appts in their schedule is big time! Other places I had chatted with, either couldn't get me in until months from now, or I had to wait a few weeks. I was able to get in immediately! Staff is friendly, polite, and does their job well. I was shuffled around from person to person for different stages of my new patient appts, X-rays, and the exam, but the transitions were seamless and I felt comfortable. I didn't get upsold on tons of things like read at other places' reviews and had a pleasant cleaning! They made sure to go through everything with me, from start to finish, step by step, and even the specifics of the laser deep clean I opted in for (which costed me $130). Check out was easy and simple enough, they take Apple Pay. Only downside is it took a little bit of time, and I felt like I was waiting for not many patients I saw being seen. It was about a 1:45 hour appt from start to finish. That's also on me for not asking how long these appts usually run. Note- I do have great teeth, no cavities, no major dental problems.

Dr. Peck was very kind at my initial visit and gave me some great input and advice. I was scheduled the following morning for my deep clean, where Dr. Kroger did a really good job and even though I had decided to try the cleaning with only a gel numbing agent, wasn't too rough or invasive. I didn't feel any pain or sensitivity as the numbing agent wore off. He also was kind and gave me good advice to prolong my oral health. Follow ups were scheduled and I'm happy that I chose this office over some of the others available to me through my insurance.
