The front office was so helpful, I got my appointments, started my dental work and let me tell you I needed a lot of dental work. The team was so helpful. I have anxiety, so they would ask me if I would like headphones to listen to music and offer me to be sedated which in my case helped a lot. They also give you a blanket to make you feel more comfortable. With all that said, I am very satisfied with my smile and I really recommend this dental office. So I had to go back again for them to redo it. When leaving, I needed an implant so I made an appointment and asked if it is covered by insurance. Sure it will be I was told. After waiting months for my appointment, I show up and am handed a bill for $2,500 dollars. What?! And then I was told I didn't have enough on my insurance because of the chipped tooth repair work. I could have waited. Why didn't they tell me this when I asked?! Then I asked why this was so expensive and they said I'm being billed based on my zip code. Great, so they are overcharging me. Also, I needed to sign a form that I understand my dentist is an independent contractor. So they are like stylists at a hair salon renting a chair there? They have a big sign at the front saying how they were voted best this and best that. I wonder how much they paid for those. No way. I will never use them again and I don't recommend them at all. Liars, cheats and shoddy work. I'm looking elsewhere.

If I could give no stars I would…read more That has been a back-and-forth struggle since February of this year - 2026. I came to the Dentist on the recommendation of someone close. After the exam, I was told I needed a deep cleaning, a root canal, a crown, and oral surgery for wisdom teeth removal. Besides the wisdom teeth removal, which I was told would be about $147, the prices vary between $685 - $795. I have Insurance and I asked them if this was before or after Insurance coverage. They said after insurance. I made two separate appointments and paid over $300 each for those appointments - just for a deep cleaning. Because money was tight, and I needed to budget and figure out how to make the rest of it work. You go into a dentist office for the first time, trusting that they know what they're doing - not just the job with your teeth, but the billing. Do you know what happened? I called my insurance the next week to get more information about coverage because $685 for deep cleaning did not seem right to me. I called the dentist office for the ADA codes to know what was necessary in case I needed that information. This Dentist was in network, coverage should not be an issue. And I'm told by my insurance that it is covered. 80% covered. I'll state the facts: I was charged two separate amounts totaling over $700, the ADA codes were not submitted correctly to my insurance, a balanced billing complaint was necessary because they refused to refund me, they gave me the runaround. After investigation, it was deemed that a deep cleaning was unnecessary and I had no responsibility to pay. They dragged their heels for a little over a month after the resolution letter came back saying they needed to refund me, my insurance had to call them and ask for that refund on my behalf because I had no patience for their games. Ask for a predetermination. I would have if I had known. Ask for it. Because the billing is hell and this was never supposed to happen but it did. This has been ongoing since February and we're at the end of August. You know what I was supposed to pay for that deep cleaning with insurance coverage? $112.80 by my calculations. See the price difference? I do. So ask for the predetermination if you don't want to take my word for it. Because you can trust, but you must verify.

Mr. Yang is super nice and always wants to make sure my teeth are to my liking. I like how he always lets me know if the work he is going to do is going to take a long time or not so if it works with my schedule or not which I appreciate because sometimes I do have plans afterwards. The dental assistants Maggie, Mayra and Erika are the best as well always remember my name even when I call on the phone Lol. They always answer any extra questions I may have about teeth or whatever they are doing. I've been with Mr. Yang since they had their offices in Wilmington, I don't see myself going to another dentist, they always make me feel welcome and they always help me out. Usually when i have an urgent or…read moreurgent-ish situation OR he's rescued me from poor advice & treatment recommendations given by other dentists (i.e. not necessary/needed/greed driven) & he HAS truly rescued me!! He & Dr. Houck (who is lovely & great) & Dr. Brown, also a great dentist But I've also gone for regular checkups & cleanings in the past. They don't take my insurance unfortunately (so, i go to them for cleanings, but don't trust them for other stuff, my insurance dentist I mean). i DID. i had a wonderful dentist do a filling on me, but then the next time i went the dentist i got was rude, short w/me & told me i needed a slew of things done on my teeth that i did not! only 1 of those things was done, or needed, by Dr. Mellert, i had an infected root up under a crown & he treated it & gave me a root canal & crown in it's place. so that experience put me off on them, other than cleanings, those are still fabulous. :) Dr Mellert is my go-to guy for any & all dental procedures. He's done root canals on me, fillings, a bridge & he's saved me & my teeth from some scary & really expensive things. wow, sounds like i have no natural teeth left. i do! almost all of them, haha. anyway, He has worked w/me on the financials of it all & been VERY great as a dentist & a human being!! He is so knowledgeable, totally professional, a very interesting person, he loves his work (it's his passion & that's huge!) & he's an ARTIST as well. there is so much artistry to his work & he is like a wonderful sculptor. Everything he's done in my mouth has been pretty perfect, if not straight out perfect. He is a very busy man & so is the practice, but they also go out of their way to fit you in & to see you in a timely manner. I mention the business because i read some of the comments from people say they were treated coldly or rudely & I can see how they could come to that conclusion, but it's not the case. some dentists will sit there w/you forever answering questions & so on, but Dr. Mellert's schedule is packed. that's not to say he doesn't or won't address questions & concerns with you. he has always addressed any of mine & then some. i think the patient (you) need to be clear beforehand, when scheduling even, that you have questions and/or concerns & want to be sure that the doctor has time to address these w/you, OR speak up when you are there. that's just the nature of a busy practice. they don't have a lot of free time for chit chat, but i'm in agreement that kindness & courtesy on the phone are VERY important! bottom line: DR. Mellert & other dentist mentioned are EXCELLENT & very trustworthy, i don't know IF i could trust my mouth & teeth to any other dentist at this point.
