It's a nice clean office. But the receptionist was rude. When I first came in, she asked me if I brushed my teeth. I answered yes. Then she said if I brushed good. I answered yes, I believed so. But after the visit, I realized how rude she was. It's very inappropriate to be a receptionist, because that's your first impression of the business. Emily was nice so as Amanda. I initially went to Garrett Orthodontics for a free consultation...the staff, Dr. Garrett, and the whole process made my decision to do business with them very easy. They helped straighten my teeth through Invisalign. Invisalign is a great alternative to braces for working professionals that want to be discrete about their tooth straightening journey. The process lasted about 16 months and was pretty effortless as my teeth began getting straighter and straighter. This practice is the epitome of "assembly-line orthodontics". There is absolutely no personalized care, and the office's chair-side manner is the worst I've ever seen. One star only because I have to! I can't speak to the Drs skills, but the office staff is so unprofessional and unhelpful. My daughter had to go to their office to have her retainer repaired twice while she is away at school. Both times I had to pay in full and was told I would need to bill Delta Dental myself. I have been told by Delta that they are required by law to bill them no matter whether it is covered or not. I called the office weeks ago and let them know and they still have not sent the billing. I was told they would need to 'look up' the code. So do your job and look it up!! I had to file a grievance and still have no resolution. I asked to speak to an office manager and they said there is not one. Liz and Maureen in the office are so unhelpful I'm beyond frustrated. Left them another voicemail today.... read more

As a teen, I had extensive orthodonture: spacers, retainers, W-springs, and 3 years of braces. In my early 20s, my bottom jaw decided it wanted to grow again and essentially reverse all previous work. At my first consultation with a local ortho, I was told immediately that jaw surgery would be required to correct my newly formed cross-bite and prevent any additional long term structural damage. There was nothing wrong with that opinion, but being a recent college grad, I had to see if there was a more affordable option. I got my second opinion from Dr Garrett. (note: I did not tell him of my previous appt and did my best to give him no indication of expectations or desires). He mentioned surgery but the difference was he immediately started brainstorming additional options with me. He took his time and explained/showed me several different approaches we could take. It was very refreshing. What I felt was important here was that even though he was (is) the expert, I felt treated with the same level of honesty and candidness I could expect from a friend. We decided on a combo of Invisalign and rubber bands (wayy cheaper than surgery) with the expectation that we felt confident, but not unrealistically certain, that we could get my bite and alignment to a point that would be stable in the long run (and yes, emphasis on the "we"). In my consultation, he set a clear tone and precedence that I would receive an honest attempt at both the best treatment and at the most affordable price. I couldn't ask for anything more. During the treatment, I could tell he was also personally motivated to see it work. A kind of funny, startling indication of this happened when I came in one time for an appointment and hadn't been wearing my trays as much as I should have. The man gave me a brief, stern talking to. Again refreshing and now motivating because he showed that he actually cared too. It was evident he wanted it to work out and now that it's all said and done, I could not be happier with the result. My bite and teeth are aligned perfectly and I still have some money in the wallet. Dr. Garrett, I am grateful for your direct, honest professionalism, and grounded, chill vibe. You made it clear to me that you are not an individual just running a business trying to make money, but more simply, a guy who wanted my bite and teeth to be great. Great experience wit Garrett Ortho. As an older patient (69) I enjoyed the same experiences of the younger patients and it was fun. At first I thought I would be imitated as a older client but then entire staff made me feel very comfortable, laughed at my jokes and enjoyed being able to participate in the lives of the younger generation It was sooooo much easier than the time in 1952 when I started.
