We had some concerns about one of his teeth and wanted to get it checked out with a pediatric dentist. From the moment we walked in the front door, we were met with smiles and warmth. The person at the front desk knew our names, was kind, and so welcoming! We were promptly led to an exam room that had plush toys, play dentist toys, and regular toys. Instead of a chair they have a large sitting bed that you can comfortably sit on with your little one. The hygienist, Kat, was amazing with our son! She brushed his teeth and made sure it was an amazing experience for both of us! Dr. Natalie came in promptly after and did a thorough exam and was so non-judgmental, kind, friendly, and patient! Our little guy was calm, relaxed, and she took the time to play pretend and brush the toy teeth with him! The visit was very reasonably priced, especially considering the extremely high-quality concierge style of service! We also booked online and were able to get an appointment the very next week! An amazing experience from booking to scheduling the next visit, highly recommend.

My son was only a baby, with tiny little teeth when we first came to Pacific Pediatric Dentistry…read more It was convenient being situated right next door to his doctor, and at the time his dentist Dr. Walker was absolutely wonderful with him. Fast forward 15 years, and we have two patients at PPD. We also went through the transition of Dr. Walker leaving and Dr. You coming on board. She is a very sweet person, but eventually, the last couple years to be exact, she's made quite a few changes to the practice that have been quite frustrating, especially to a middle class working family. The first issue was when I went to call and cancel an appointment, so I could reschedule, I thought I was calling two days in advance, but apparently they go all the way down to the second when cancelling. So had I called just a mere hour earlier, I would have been good. So I had to call out sick to avoid the cancellation fee. The second issue was, the billing, I've always had my bill just sent to the house and then I paid it. It gave me a chance to set money aside for it, and then pay it. Apparently, they don't bill patients anymore, you have to pay the full bill up front. I told them straight up I couldn't pay, I wasn't gonna put it on a credit card either, they either had to bill me or not get payed at all. They finally gave in since I had good credit history with them. The third incident was just recently, today. The nail in the coffin. We had an appointment today, and my 15 year old was getting some cavities filled. My daughter had recently asked to not have nitrous because it makes her feel sick. So I figured if she could do it, my 15 year old could go without as well. So we told my so to ask for no nitrous, which he did. He told them in the room he did not want the nitrous, and they told him they had to use it, and went ahead and used it anyways. So I was pretty upset that he had specifically asked for no nitrous and they went ahead and used it. At this point I'm actively looking for a new dentist, someone who is willing to work with us on scheduling, billing and willing to listen to my child when it comes to telling them what he does or does not want. Dr. You is a nice person, but she is rigidly fueled by the almighty dollar. I'd love to see her update the chairs and carpet in the waiting room, they're filthy and falling apart. Maybe get the fish tank cleaned and have the filter replaced, maybe have the skylights cleaned, all these things I notice and annoy me since shes charging so much, I'd at least like to have a nice floor and chairs to sit in. Dr. You should thank her dental hygienists and Jennifer at the front desk, if it weren't for them, I probably would have been long gone already. Wish I could scoop them up and take them with me to another practice.

I just found out she's opening her own office here in SLO and we're super excited. Was one other patient waiting to be seen who got there at the same time as me and they went back after 30 minutes. We get to the back the assistant looks at my daughters face and sees she has eczema, and said that was an issue and she wasn't sure the Dr would see her because she had a "break out". I explained no she has eczema and her face normally looks like that. She took a picture and had us back in the waiting room. After about 2 episodes of Bluey she comes back and says reschedule when she doesn't have any symptoms on her face. Ummm so what reschedule and wait another 50 minutes for my daughter to still have eczema and be turned away again? Her previous dentist has never had any problems seeing her while she's having a flare up. I will never recommend this place to somebody and definitely won't be coming back here for either of my daughters. This was a new patient appointment because we wanted to try them out to go to a closet dentist but will be just making the longer drive to the other dentist we have been going to. I pulled my daughter out of school and got a baby sitter for my younger daughter to literally waste my time.

I originally saw his father, and Dr. Ian has inherited all the skills and patience that his father had. I also go in regularly for dental hygiene with Maria, and am just as happy with her work to keep my teeth looking and feeling healthy! Maria works quickly and I always walk away feeling like I have a new set of teeth. The office is in a beautifully restored Craftsman style house near Highway 101 and also close to Poly. It is clean, calm and relaxing. The front office staff is also attentive and patient. They can navigate the intricacies of billing and scheduling with cheer and ease. Dr. Ian also works on Saturdays, and they can fit you in should you have a dental emergency. They can also recommend specialists in the area if you need further work like dental surgery. The only downside for me is that they are out of my dental insurance provider, but I still get partial reimbursement. I would never go anywhere else because the quality of the work here is worth paying a bit extra for!
