I had an appointment with Midway for a simple lighting issue. My husband made the appointment and…read morechose the second appointment of the day, because 7:30 am (first appointment) is the time we are trying to get our daughter out the door. He was told someone would arrive "around 9 am." I took off from work for the appointment. My husband also told the office it would be me there, and gave them my phone number. Well guess what? They promptly lost my phone number, and after multiple calls to the office I am finally told around 9:45 that the electrician can't get to me until "around 11" or maybe even later. I told them I can't wait around that long and cancelled. I could have done the job myself in the time I was waiting but (silly me) I wanted a professional to make sure it was done right. It never occurred to me that said professional would be so unprofessional with my time. If you, like me, expect that "around 9" doesn't mean 11 or later, and you expect a company to be able to keep track of two phone numbers, don't use Midway. Advice to the company: don't lose phone numbers, and if you can't stick to appointment times, then give windows like those awful cable companies do (e.g. between 9 and noon). Then I would have known up front that you can't respect my time and chosen another company that can. Saying "around 9" when you mean "between 9 and noon" is just even more disrespectful than being up front about it.

I hired Affordable Plumbing Sewer & Drain to clear my sewer line. They told me it was done, but…read morewithin just a few days my drains were backing up exactly the same as before. The City of Columbia checked the line and confirmed the issue was still on my side, meaning the line was never fully cleared. I reached out to the company several times, but they stopped responding. I haven't been able to shower or do laundry for days. Any reputable drain company offers a callback/warranty, especially when the problem returns this quickly. Instead of fixing their incomplete work, they left me with the same issue and no communication. This has been extremely stressful and unsanitary, and I've received no support or follow-up. I hope they do the right thing and correct this, but as of now I cannot recommend them.

They were not certain they could fix the issue. I called Cal-Air and explained our problem. They were confident in fixing the issue, quoted half the price and came out the next day. Josh and Jeremy were amazing. They spent a few hours finding the leaks, fixing them and getting us running again. The cost was less than half (even lower than quoted) and the experience was amazing. I chose Cal-Air because of the Yelp responses from the ownership. It makes me feel better when people care enough about their customers to comment on their likes and frustrations. Kudos to the whole business and the folks running it!

Turned out, he was the owner of this company, his name is Rodney. This guy came to my house after 2 other techs had been here and AC still was not working properly. He told me i was being unreasonable to keep the house at 70F and that he keeps his at 79F. He stated he is the owner and he knows how things work. Also he said no AC unit in Columbia could cool a place down to 70. Funny thing is, last 2 summers it had no problem cooling down our house to 70F on a day in the 90s outside. He then walked out of dining room, through living room, and out front door and got in his car. I followed and asked him if he was leaving and he said yes. I asked how come. He said, i'm not going to stay and talk to someone who doesn't know how to listen. I told him it was rude of him to just walk out. The owner said, instead of the previous service tech who came a few days ago to the house, that service tech could have been helping someone who had a real problem and i wasted they're time. I said to the owner, On that note, i will say goodbye. They did not inspect anything. in fact, first service tech forgot to add refrigerant and had to come back a second time to add it. That is all they checked. If they would have looked at duck work where duck comes in, they would have seen a 2 inch by 2 feet whole of a gap that was not sealed up properly. I was offended by the owner but not the tech who came out. I would not support this company or give them any business based on how i was spoken to by the owner of the company while he was in my house. Hope this helps someone out there.
