I will say, it was crowded on a Tuesday afternoon and everyone there was trying to get content, which ruined the magic a bit. It was mostly people in their 20-30s, all chatting and using phones the entire time. So not a place to completely check out or relax, but a lot of fun. Before I begin my review on the spa I just want to say that everyone I encountered at this hotel was extremely pleasant and did the utmost to make me feel welcome - the doorman, the concierge, the spa personnel, etc. Fantastic customer service. I had to speak a little Italian initially but the staff were proficient in English as well, which was impressive (and comforting) to me. I had a spa appointment the evening before I was set to fly back to the states. The spa area itself has a serene, relaxing atmosphere. (Side note: If you have time I would also recommend checking out the pool, as it is one of the most impressive pools I have ever seen.) Now, back to my appointment- the technician was ready to take me in as soon as I came down, which I was happy about. She was very friendly, professional, and was someone that I was able to hold a conversation with, too. She really did a wonderful job and went above and beyond my expectations, taking extra time to make sure her work was well done and that I was satisfied. There is a menu of services out on the sidewalk, in Italian. The receptionist buzzed me in and she was able to get me in for a same day appointment. Yea. She speaks English better than she thinks, and with my Italian we did OK. The main floor is mani, pedi and hair. The massage rooms and bathroom are up one flight. There is a downstairs too. Waxing maybe? Need to check out their other services. The massage room is small but adequate. Candles and soft rock set the mood. In Italy the client is given a disposable 'slip'. This is a paper thong that customers must wear. A towel was draped over the table and another laid on top, tied in a pretty red bow, to drape over your body. My masseuse really knows her stuff. She followed what my muscles were telling her was needed and I feel like a new woman! The lotion seemed to get hot when she used fast strokes, heating up the muscles. It's been a long time since I've had a massage and she did a great job considering the mess of knots she was presented with. I have been to a few places in Italy for a massage and these Italian ladies are doing a good job. If you are in need of some pampering while in Milan, I can recommend the massage here.
