Although my stylist was super kind and absolutely lovely, my lashes did fall off a generous amount just after 2-3 days. She was kind enough to say she'd re do them for a $100 off discount, but I don't think I'd go again. I would say save the money and do more research for your lashes. Update on my experience at Garnet Lash due to negative experience with the OWNER Danielle: She is unprofessional, rude and down right catty. I've changed my review from an outstanding 5 stars to what I wish could be 0 stars. Danielle's presence is dark and uncomfortable, it is why I will not be returning to garnet lash again. She NEVER wears a mask - and her negative energy, dirty looks, and unpleasant demeanor makes it difficult to even walk in the door. It's like she's woken up on the wrong side of the bed every time I see her. I used to come in for a fill once a week - so spending upwards of $400 a month + buying merchandise you'd think she'd know how to treat loyal customers... One time after I had just spent $78 buying candles, I overheard her mimicking my voice as I walked back for my lash fill. She acts like a child. My issues with Danielle start here: I bought a gift card for a friend through Garnet for a full set, with the intention on having my gf go to my favorite lash artist there - Katy. Danielle made me jump through hoops to have the gift card credited to Katy as she wanted to take the sale for herself. As the owner of a salon making good money off of your lash artists, as well as being a "master lash artist" herself with plenty of clients - she should've just done whatever the customer wanted and transferred the gift card to my desired lash artist. It took months to have this credit sorted out & she hasn't treated me right since. The whole experience was so exhausting ...over a GIFT CARD. Gabrielle is my favorite. I initially came fo Garnet lash because I had to have an emergency appointment the day before New Year's Eve, and garnet lash was able to fit me in their schedule on the whim (I think due to pity) but it was so kind. When I arrived, the workers freaked out completely because of the visible damage done to my lashes and the amount of real lashes that were missing, and the extremely improper method of gluing huge fans onto multiple lashes and sometimes only one singular real lashes of mine. They were scared to work with me. Out of the kindness of Gabrielle's heart, and after much deliberation, she took me under her wing because she genuinely wanted to help me. I have not looked back since, and now it's March! Gabrielle has transformed my lashes into something much more natural and complimentary to my look. I know a lot of people start these off with "I never write reviews, but..." BUT seriously, I literally *never* write reviews. As the old adage goes, "never say never." I have short, fine, basically nonexistent lashes, that I have tortured through daily curling, priming and mascara-ing. I also have large eyes that are shallow set and so I wasn't sure how lash extensions would look (crazy eyes?), but I've always been intrigued and because I have a fun vacation coming up, I thought I would treat myself. After trying another studio in the area that was not amazing, I took to Yelp to see what other options were out there. I was drawn to Garnet Lash because of the volume of positive reviews/rankings--so I read through pages of write-ups and decided to book with Gabrielle, who thankfully had availability right before I was heading out of town. Everything that everyone has written about Gabrielle is 1000% true (and this is coming from a VERY skeptical New Yorker). She took the time to talk to me about what I wanted--natural with more volume, but nothing crazy. She showed me the missteps that the previous artist took (too much glue, not the right length or care in application) and proceeded to take 2 hours (!!) to apply a customized full set of lashes that I'm now obsessed with. She was kind and positive and made me feel so comfortable I *fell asleep* and woke up to exactly what I'd been hoping for. Later that day, quite a few lashes fell out after a brushing and I texted Gabrielle to see if that was normal. She replied *immediately* that because of how fine my natural lashes are, the shedding would be more than usual (alas), but that I could stop in the next day and she could refill them a bit. I went back in and she spent another 30 minutes adding back in the lost lashes, generously squeezing me in to her busy schedule. It's true when they say "you get what you pay for" and I'm so pleased to have made this investment in myself. I can see why Gabrielle has such a loyal client list--as a PR professional I know the value of a bright disposition, confident expertise, and personal approachability. While I now know that I need to strengthen my natural lashes (she provided tips for that too!) in order to make extensions really last for me, I'm happy to have started my "lash journey" with Gabrielle. Even if this is just a "special occasion" experience, I will be going back to Gabrielle for each and every one. read more

Note that they don't always have apprentices so those prices won't be offered obviously. I also did two refills at $90 each (set price, as far as I can recall). You have to book your re-fill appointment within 3 weeks otherwise it will be considered a new set at full price. In the end, I decided it was just too expensive for me to continue. - Street parking only which can be a pain, depending on what time you arrive. **They offer to remove your lashes for you (if you decide you don't want to keep them) but you can also just let them fall out. I booked an appointment with Gabrielle, and I have to just say... WOW. I got there and the first thing we did was spend a solid ten minutes talking about what I wanted. I don't typically wear makeup, so I wanted my lashes to look naturally full, but not like I was trying to be at the club from sun up to sun down. She suggested we try extensions that weren't too long, that would look like I had a nice light coast of mascara on for the day. She set me up for my two hour nap (because that's what you get on your first appointment--2 hours of laying down, eyes closed and comfy) and got to work. She asked me frequently if I was doing alright, if my eyes were tolerating the adhesive and if I was bothered by any of the tools. I was extremely comfortable and had zero reservations about telling her if I needed something adjusted. She wanted to make sure I got what I wanted and that I enjoyed my rest (big deal for this Mama of two!). I left the studio so excited, and feeling absolutely gorgeous. My lashes are soft and fluffy, and I don't feel like I'm walking around overdone. My experience was worth every minute and every penny. I typically get my lashes down in north county, but I wasn't able to see my usual lady this time, so I tried Garnet lashes out. I laid down for two whole hours with my lashes barely look great. To make it worse, it's been a little more than two weeks and most of my lashes fell off. The lady I usually go to is so good that my eyelashes are nice and full for at least one month. Usually, I wear a lot of eyeliner to "wake up" my eyes. I am definitely going back! Aside from the results, the experience was pleasant. The spa was modern, clean, and comfortable. The first appointment can be long - mine was about 2.5 hours. I fell asleep for most of it though! I also had no problems with irritation, redness, or other adverse reactions. I highly recommend Garnet Day Spa! ETA: It's been two weeks. After following their instructions on proper care, not touching, etc., my eye lashes still look pretty good. I was referred to Garnet Day Spa by a good friend and have never regretted walking through the door! I started getting my lashes here in 2012 when it was Spa by the Sea and continue to do so to this day! Danielle (the owner) is a sweetheart and a true professional. The spa itself is beautiful. It is always clean and tidy and it just feels warm and inviting. The staff is always courteous, friendly and helpful. There is always plenty of availability and they really work with your schedule. You can call, text, or go online to make an appointment. The experience itself is relaxing and the staff always does their best to ensure that the process is comfortable. That being said it is always a good idea to speak up if anything feels wrong. I wear contacts and always let the lash technicians know that my eyes are sensitive and they make adjustments if I mention anything. If you have sensitive eyes like me you might want to take your contacts out (at least the first few times) but it's not necessary. Also, if it is your first time (I get the faux mink) and you aren't sure how long or thick you would like your lashes I would err on the side of caution and request a natural look. I know you are paying for lashes so you might want dramatic but the faux mink are pretty thick and dramatic to begin with so asking for a natural look is actually the best way to go. When you get fills you can always ask for a little more drama but if you get dramatic from the start you might be shocked. Also, the first few times you go your eyes might experience a little redness. This happened to me the first 2 times I went but it went away after a few days and I think my eyes have adjusted because it hasn't happened since. If you are planning to do this for a special event you might want to try it a couple of times beforehand to ensure you don't have an allergic reaction. You wouldn't get a microdermabrasion the day of or day before your wedding/engagement pics so you prob shouldn't do this the day of/before either! All in all, this is hands down the place to go for lashes! My lashes look amazing, I cannot rave enough about how great they look and the overall experience. You will love your lashes and be hooked forever. Don't be surprised if people stop you at work/on the street/in the store/at the gym/on the trolley and say you have the most amazing lashes (all of these have actually happened to me)! read more
