Customer service is pathetic. They have frequent web site and inventory problems, and calling customer service is an unhappy experience. Quality of merchandiise is consistently pretty good, but shipping charges are RIDICULOUS. I just ordered a terry dress and was charged $12.95 to ship. This company needs to start reading the reviews and responding to them. Don't you know that you are smarter to offer free shipping and incorporate the cost in to your merchandise? If I have to return this item, it will have cost me over $20 for nothing! Bad business approach. read more

Garnet Hill does not send out items on time. I ordered a cashmere sweater and it was supposed to ship on 9/12/26 and today I received an email that said it shipped today or yesterday. However, the UPS or USPS number is not recognized. That means it did not ship. When you have bought an expensive item, the least they could do it send it on time or let you know. read more

I ordered a small sized shirtdress which was listed with a relaxed fit. After waiting over a month, it arrived and large enough to have 12" of excess material around the body of the dress. Customer service cannot tell me the measurement of an xsmall dress to determine if it is worth trying to reorder. Now I have to pay $8.95 to send it back. I am very frustrated as this seems to be happening more often with this company. read more

I have never once posted a complaint about any item I have purchased. But my experience with Garnet Hill was so bad that I have decided to break this habit. I put the wrong shipping address into my order for an Ottoman poof, and after noticing it immediately after pressing the buy button, I sought to correct it. I spoke to a bot, who tried to contact a human, but it was after 5 p.m. on Friday, so I got a recording. I wrote to customer service instead. Nothing. When I called at 8 a.m. on Monday, when the office reopened, I got a human who could not answer any of my questions or rectify the problem. She said it was too late. I asked to cancel my order. She said it was too late. I asked to speak to a supervisor. She said that person was unavailable. I will never shop at Garnet Hill again. Priscilla Painton read more

Truly horrendous customer service. I ordered two items. Decided after they arrived that I needed a different size. Initiated an exchange online and sent them back. One full week after UPS tracking reported that the items had arrived at Garnet Hill's warehouse, I had heard nothing and could find no update to my order through the website. When I called customer service, the agent (C) basically said, "Yeah. It could be another week before anyone at the warehouse gets around to processing your package. If you wanted it done 'fast,' you should have done it as a return and ordered the different size as a new order." I believe this technique is called blaming the victim. I asked, "How would I have known to do that? Do you state somewhere on your website that items sent back for exchange might just loll around your warehouse for weeks on end, so the exchange process should be avoided?" "No, of course not," she replied. Very helpful. After considering my options, I called again and spoke to another customer service agent (M) who also ended up passing the buck back to me. I asked if we could cancel the exchange and order the new size over the phone. Sure, she said, then revealed that the new size (which was available when I first initiated the exchange) is now on backorder. I can only assume that it sold out during the week that my items were lolling around the warehouse. M said it wasn't Garnet Hill's fault if they had too many packages at the warehouse to process them in a timely fashion. I should have known that if I had wanted my items shipped "fast," I needed to handle the exchange differently. (M also noted that she has worked at Garnet Hill for more than 30 years, so her "blame the victim" approach can't be attributed to inexperience. This is clearly a company policy.) At this point, it's looking like it will be at least two months from the date of my original order before I receive the items in the size I needed. Anything quicker than that would have been, according to Garnet Hill's definition, "fast." A good word to describe how I will be running away from this horrible company. Although I might apply for a job working in their warehouse. It sounds very relaxing! read more

Shipping takes months and no status updates are provided. I still have not received the product I ordered on April 22

My complaints are similar to so many others who've had issues with off sizing on sheets, poor quality, inept customer DISS service, ridiculously high delivery cost, etc. I wish they'd stop sending me catalogs because I'm done shopping with Garnet Hill. There's a sucker born every minute, and they can find another sucker elsewhere. Charging by the cost of the item and not the size nor the weight is absurd and a rip off! read more

Customer service is horrible! They are constantly slow on shipping even though their shipping charges are astronomical. They have list two of my orders in the past year and they refuse to return my money, even though it was their fault both times. Thank goodness for Amex , I contacted them and they responded immediately. I really like Garnet Hill products but they don't value their customers. read more

Just replaced a 'Quilted Car Coat' that was purchased years ago (and loved) with GH's newer version--seems to be same quality, great practical style, lovely new blue color. Hope lasts as long. Problem: I wear size 10, but the new version is M (8-10). That means GH has to manufacture only 1/2 the number of sizes, and the fit is only 1/2 as good: Oddly, a bit larger than a normal size 10. Had to turn up the cuffs, but decided it looked good enough to keep. Another annoyance: Even with a discount, the CA tax + $18.95 for shipping put the cost over the $249. price. read more

I have been trying to purchase several items today . Once I choose to check out, appearing immediately, a solid blue line across top of site from left to right . then nothing, stuck on white screen w/ GH logo . I am unable to checkout . Beware of fraudulent ways! Did a return on a BOGO and NO money refunded. Said they were the 'free' items, although I paid for 1 and got 1 then also returned 2 (1 paid, 1 free). NO they said I returned the free items??? WHY would anyone do that? Customer service did not even offer to compensate me nor were understanding. AND paying for shipping. I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

I bought a cashmere polo shirt from Garnet Hill in November 2023. It's a very nice-looking garment, and is a comfort to wear. But within a year, it had developed a hole the size of my little fingernail. I own quite a bit of cashmere, and it typically lasts for years without any real wear; I also hadn't worn this item all that frequently. Moreover, when I examined the polo shirt I noticed all of these spots that were wearing thin. I discovered the hole after the 12-month mark, and when I asked customer service if they could do anything they said no. Another company where I buy has repair services, and these are a great offering. But Garnet Hill, despite its high pricing, feels no such compunction. While the company's aesthetic is appealing, this experience makes me reluctant to purchase from them in the future. read more

what happened to this company? I bought ( 4 days ago) what I thought was a gorgeous Desert Rose light weight Essential Sweater Tee....beautiful color in the online photo. Followed sizing guide for Medium . I had followed the sweater for weeks until I caught a sale. So so disappointed. The sweater was flat out Orange...far far from any shade of pink let alone the Tea Rose color in the photos...The sizing was very big without any real shape at all...even for a cropped cut it was more like a caftan cut. Fabric in photo appeared slightly brushed cotton with a bit of softness. Actual fabric texture much more like nylon enhanced ....I am keeping the sweater for a kick around with jeans. I gave it a wash in warm wash and it tightened up the shape a little...still orange...for 75$ it is a bit of a slight of hand but will use it in the Fall for kindergarten field trip to Pumpkin maze.....probably won't buy from Garnet Hill again. Not at the quality of 5 years ago read more

This is the second review and I had actually forgot about my 2022 experiences. This one is not so much about the products as the lack of customer services. The attitude of the people that answer the phone very promptly is "no can do". End of call. Again shipping costs very high....returns you pay shipping and no help with problems. Many of the items can be found elsewhere and quality of house brand not great. Shame on me for trying again. read more

Poor customer service. I was sent a pillow sham when I had ordered a t-shirt. The shirt I ordered is now out of stock. It took over three weeks for the wrong package to arrive. I just called customer service at Garnet Hill and got a representative that I think was severely mentally diminished. She couldn't answer even a basic question and kept putting me on hold. Terrible rep!! I will never buy from this company! read more

Would give them a 0 if I could. They keep selling things they don't have and charged my card. Had to file a claim to get a refund on the first order they cancelled. Told them to take me off their contact list and cancel my account. They refused to cancel my account. Filed a complaint with FTC and BBB. This place has gone down hill. No customer service and charge people for items they don't have. Did it 2 times in one week to me. Will shop some where else that has it together. read more

I've purchased three (grossly overpriced) blankets/quilts from Garnet Hill as a new customer, but this time I decided to purchase something different. I ordered a swag to hang on my door and a doormat. The doormat was $39 and worth about that much, so I wasn't super disappointed. However, the swag, which arrived two weeks later, cost $59 and appeared as though a 5-year-old child had made it. I looked forward to hanging this piece on the outside of my door, but now I'm too embarrassed. It's disgustingly cheap looking. Not to mention the shipping! Almost $20 to ship both items!? They really make bank on the shipping for sure and, based on the added disappointment with the swag, I won't purchase another thing from Garnet Hill. read more

i have been buying clothes from Garnet Hill for years but no more. A couple of years ago, I bought some single color tops in which the hem unraveled. I can cut off the thread and resew the hem but the hem wouldn't look good so I just wear them in the house. After the second hem unraveled I complained about the quality and was just told that they were too old for a refund. I just wanted to alert the company about its poor quality control. I was faithful to this catalog for many years and always had a great experience. New day at Garnet Hill and it is great no more. Drastic changes in practices, communication and overall business philosophy. Long story short my order was completely bungled and I had to call customer service 3 times before I got someone to help. Of note, my order total dollar was not insignificant. I'll never shop them again. read more

I placed an order on November 7th and have waited patiently for the order to arrive only to get an email today, December 8th, that caused me to scratch my head. The email reads "Thank you for your recent order. We are sorry that you needed to return the item. The following credit has been applied to your order. If the credit is for a returned item, it is detailed below. If you have ordered exchange items, these will be shipped as soon as they are available. Please allow 3-5 business days for your credit card company to process your credit." I immediately called them to find out what the heck this email was about since I'd never even received the item, much less wanted to return it. The woman I spoke with tells me that the order was basically canceled because they didn't have a street name for the shipping address. This baffles me since I created an account through their website, where my street address is clearly listed, and if by chance I didn't put the name of my street in the address field (possible I guess), why would it take one month to hear anything from the company? Well, after speaking with a completely clueless supervisor, I find out that my order was shipped out (despite not having a street name???) and then returned to sender because..... yep, no street name. So what does the company do? They take my order and basically sell it to someone else. By the time I get an email about how sorry they are that I "needed to return the item," and subsequently call to find out what's going on, they are sold out of the item and I'm SOL. Awesome. Good job guys. I don't feel like I can shop at a place that I can't trust to do right by their customers. They had all of my info through my account, they had an email address....c'mon guys! read more

Customer service representatives are atrocious! They never have any answers to any questions or concerns and all I was looking for was tracking information that I was promised I would receive in an email once the item shipped. I received the email that product shipped but no tracking information and no information as to where it was shipped or who it was shipped to. I am always told that it was being shipped directly from the vendor and they will reach out. I never get a response other than that and no updates. It has been over a month since the items were ordered and I can't check the order status online because there is an error message that says "order information is permanently unavailable" because of a "system issue". I will never order from here again! I'd give 0 stars if I could. read more

I used to love Garnet Hill. I ordered kids clothes, sheets/towels, and of course, women's clothing. In the past year or two, it's just all gone down hill to such an extent (except prices, which are still going up). First, they stopped selling kids clothes completely. Then, they stopped putting the garment measurements on the website. Then I noticed that they don't always show the back and side view of the garments. I realized (after some trial and error), that they leave out the unflattering photos, so if you don't see a back shot of pants/dresses/etc. it's because it doesn't look good from the back. This is even more frustrating because they charge for both shipping and returns; the LEAST they could do it show something from all angles and give you the garment measurements. Their stuff can be nice, but it's not THAT nice. I'm kind of done with them, sadly. read more

Garnet Hill used to be reliable for well made clothes and bedding. They are now just ridiculously overpriced with poor service. I don't know why I thought ordering from them this time would be better. They charge an exorbitant fee for shipping (this is where they clearly make even more money), then don't ship the items for a week at least, and they do not have free returns. For a catalogue/internet based company (there might be a few people in New Hampshire naive enough to shop there in person, but I doubt it) they need to stop charging for shipping. But, if they are going to charge exorbitant prices for shipping, then they should actually ship the purchase in a timely way. It's a very expensive store that mostly sells droopy clothes made in China and charges a lot for them. read more

I tried to post this review on their site and they would not let me ... I purchased "Garnet Hill Essential Down Blanket and Throw". The title tells you that you are purchasing two blankets - the size you chose and a matching throw. The order confirmation shows two blankets - one larger and one smaller. For the price, I thought it was a good value. I only received one blanket - the larger one. Customer service says that the title means there is available various sized blankets and a throw size. They also say that the picture with order confirmation is just a stock photo. They refunded my shipping charge -big deal. I gave it as a gift and now I can't take it back. Never will order anything from them again. read more

First time I ever ordered from Garnet Hill. Their website glitched and sent me a duplicate order. Customer service was unfriendly and frankly inept. I've been purchasing GH sheets since 1980's. I have always loved the flannel sheets (their German ones that are their name brand sheets.) I'm never buying anything from them again. The sizes are way off...I got shams that had no size printed on them and called because I ordered standard and the shams were huge...twice the normal size (of which I have several). The "support person" knew nothing...didn't even try to research what I received and what standard size is supposed to be. They are using a different flannel which has long strands of fuzz and is a magnet for hair. I was such a loyal customer and can't believe how bad their service and quality is now. read more

BEWARE!! WHAT A SCAM! I purchased a pair of $ 300+ boots on 12/19. The ship date was scheduled for 12/27 (already a pretty late ship date). I did not receive an email confirmation the item shipped on 12/27- On the order page the ship date changed to 12/30 (no email update from company about the delay). On 12/30 the item did not ship. I called the company and they said it was in the warehouse and might ship this week or next week. They gave me no information about why they were delayed or even had any idea when they'd actually ship. Customer service is very disappointing for a price tag like this! They finally arrived today on 1/11 and they have been worn!! THEY ARE USED BOOTS!!!. The soles are worn and the leather has been worn in already. I honestly can't believe this- I am too afraid to return them as I don't trust this company to refund my payment or, ever send me another pair. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN. What a Shame- I like the products they sell but who sells a pair of shoes for over $300, makes the customer wait 15 days to receive them and then sends a used/returned pair with obvious wear!!! HORRIBLE. read more

Horrible place to do business. Garnet Hill was great 10 years ago, now "customer service" ( I use that term loosely) is deplorable. I placed an order for several items, including furniture. The order confirmation had an old shipping address in Virginia, so I called immediately to update the shipping address to Colorado. All the items arrived to the new address, but Garnet Hill failed to relay the change of address to their outside furniture vendor and my Hampton's chair was delivered to a home we no longer own. Weeks of trying to get customer service to hear or resolve the issue was infuriating. I called, left messages, wrote emails, no response or if I did get through the representative said they couldn't help me, the "furniture person" could only help with the issue. It was a simple oversight that they could have easily rectified. The furniture "customer service" person was awful and even called me a liar under her breath . Now if you want a lot of added stress in your life, then buy from Garnet Hill. read more

I just had to post a review of Garnet Hill but also of all the dumb people that have left negative reviews. Should Garnet Hill have better shipping rates? Yes! But when you place an order with them, it's right on their website that they charge what they charge for the order and if you need to return it, it will cost you. To complain about this on Yelp is ridiculous! You knew the rules now deal with them. This is what is wrong with society today. I find Garnet Hill has beautiful things. Some you can find on other websites but some are exclusive to them. I have ordered several things from them and they have all been high quality. They are a small company and not huge like Amazon or Nordstrom. They are like Sundance Catalog who yes still charges shipping. If don't like the rules don't shop with them. read more

I used to order more from them - but, their shipping costs are so high - and now they charge sales tax (in WA state that's 10%) and - if they offer a sale - it's worthless now, since the tax and shipping make it waaaay to expensive. Garnet Hill has some great (but pricey) wares - but, until they start offering better and more frequent free shipping - as with stores like Nordstroms, JCrew, Boden - I just can't justify ordering from them any more. read more
