So I'm looking at these reviews and every complaint seems to be about price so I thought I'd add my review and comment. First of all I want to comment. People always want the best for less‍. If you cant afford the price quoted for HIS talented work, get another opinion from another dentist on their price for their work...its that simple. People act like there's a flat rate for filings or root canals‍ ‍and then want to ruin your businesses reputation....its ridiculous!! ( NOTE:) I had gone to another office in February for an emergency surgery called Confident Smiles and Dr. Q was EXCELLENT and with all that he assessed for my future needs, I thought I'd look for a location closer to my home and that could accommodate my family having services done all at the same time as I want my kids to have a excellent, preventative care. I had the most delightful visit with Dr. Garland 's office and that's saying a lot since I am trypanophobic and have dentophobia amongst my other chronic pain diseases. Nonetheless, when I finally got the courage not to cancel yet another appointment ( mainly because the pain had caused such a widespread infection that I finally talked myself into going for fear my head would come off) I was cheerfuly greeted as soon as I entered..(I told the receptionist I was scared)..then taken back after a few minutes of waiting.....greeted by the dental hygienist, Stuti ( by this time I was shaking....I told her I was scared) and she and I started talking like we had already know each other, she made me feel so unjudged. So I told her about all the self inflicted, ghetto makeshift foolery I had affixed to my teeth to prevent me from having to come to the dentist during pandemic. (I call it Pandemic Panic when you go on Ebay to buy products for emergency fixes) Neither she or Dr. Davis made me feel any less of a person for doing so or even being in such bad dental health. Dr. Davis then devised a plan that could restore not only my physical health ( believe me, the damage I caused from not addressing issues certainly added to my already bad health condition) but also the beautiful smile I had before my health was even an issue. So then I met with his office manager, Ashanti and her assistant, Mariela, who broke down the cost of his plan of action and what my insurance would cover and what my financial obligations would be. They then offered to find available financial institutions who could assist me with my portion. Now, if you have your own resources or financial institution to use, you can do so as the accept CareCredit and other forms of payment. They even offer their OWN dental program and payment plans!!! They REALLY work with you and the office is SOOOO CHILLL and relaxing and booked and busy that I started to feel like it's a " in thing" to just roll up to the dentist real quick and get a little adjustment or whatever and bounce.....like, is THIS the place to be?? I mean, young and old are just up in there like they coming to visit family...You hear giggling and laughing and jazz playing in the speakers... I mean....I'm certainly not scared to come see him anymore and I've been consistent now since April!!!! Every month, for root scaling and all kinds of invasive procedures to try to restore my gum health in preparation for a big dental surgery....and you know what?? While I STILL have my phobia of needles, Dr. Davis ( at this point I feel like he's my uncle‍ don't ask me why, but I finally TRUST him like a family member and that's BIG coming from an abuse survivor) I believe has rid me of my dentophobia so I PRAY he stays in practice so I won't have to test this theory out with anyone else. Long story ending, you are doing yourself a disservice if you completed ALL THIS LONGWINDED READING and STILL decide not to seek his services. If I would've known him earlier in my life, I'm definite that my phobia would've never been created. read more

Paid $4,800 for Invisalign here--never received my trays. After months of excuses, unanswered calls, and no refund, I had to dispute the charge through Care Credit. Former staff even warned me they bill insurance for services not provided. Avoid this office and protect your money. read more

what started as a good dental experience ended in very disappointing fashion. god opened a better, more advanced dental provider door for me to walk through yesterday. dr. davis ballooned to 300+ lbs, teamed up with a dr. darryl hill who promotes ozempic like he has major stock in it. i had recently chose hill as my pcp until his constant baggering about using ozempic forced me to avoid him until i can chose another pcp. i declined the ozempic offer numerous times and davis obviously accepted due to his drastic weight-loss. i found out brand new davis and struggling hill (don't be fooled like i was by the website) were in cahoots on a uncoventional denistry crusade after davis finally revealed hill was also his pcp. i'm unsure how this crusade benefits hill as his practice appears to really need financial help. heaven help them both. on 5/20/25, davis staged this elaborate performance along with several unknown ghetto support staff who had questions/input during my interaction with davis, (to include several annoying texts and emails threatening to cancel my appt if i failed complete forms/confirm appt). what i was trying to resolve with davis was none of their concern and these strangers nosed their way into our interaction. davis actually denied me service (a regular cleaning) due to me not knowing my a1c when asked. davis proceed to promote some device he was wearing on his arm and lectured me on a1c, diabetes, etc. he also mentioned his hygienist will not clean his teeth if he's not right with his diabetes. I was unaware of his diabetes issue until that speech. i even completed the requested forms the day prior to my appt, pressed send and got a thank you confirmation but when i arrived, i was flagged for not completing the forms. i can't make this up. the only reason i showed up for my appt was to avoid the cancellation/$50 threats from the several annoying, what i call bully texts and emails i received leading up to my appt. i feel davis and hill planned that experience upon my arrival. i feel davis made sure to have me sign the hippa forms prior to cover himself/hill after sending the bully emails. what practice threatens to cancel appts when you fail to complete forms online? normally you'll have a chance to complete the forms in the office. this was a toxic and unprofessional way to handle this situation. on top of that, i have carefirst bcbs. davis doesn't care for bcbs (his words) and is out of the network. i allowed him to sign me up for a plan for $29 monthly. of course, i called to cancel after the 5/20/25 ordeal and found out the commitment is for a year ending after 9/2025. i'll simply consider it a $90 good riddance gift. i'm always covered in my life by my father. please forgive the run on sentences and other errors in my warning message. this was the worst experience with doctor's i've ever had in my life and i'm thankful for it. next stop, new pcp who doesn't send you to an outdated exam room to sit for 20-30 mins with ozempic/weightloss props all around the room while he checks in his own patients. smh. wth! this was really extra, unnecessary and took no time to figure out. that's why hill didn't open his door for me when i immediately went to his office 10 mins from davis. as I went back to my car at hill's office, i looked at the window and noticed a slither crack in the blinds that went away as i watched. i can't make this up. read more

I just got back from the most wonderful dental experience at the office of Garland Davis. I have a fear of dentist's but Dr. Garland immediately made me comfortable. He was very friendly very down to earth very supportive and informative. He explained everything and gave me several options to reduce my cost. I never liked returning to the dentist office but for the first time I'm excited not worried about like always. I'm telling everyone I know about him. Wish I found him earlier. Very high quality care, friendliness and professionalism by the whole team. We needed a dentist for my mother and I took her there, ended up changing them to be my primary dentist. From the consultation to the care, it has been honest, they listen and have accommodated an emergency even with a full schedule, they found a way to fit me in that day because I was set to travel the next morning. Really has nothing to do with the doctor's expertise but the front desk personnel level of professionalism leaves a lot to be desired. You will be treated like you are a bother and oh they will seat and they will talk about you right in-front of you as you wait for them to sort you out. Waiting for one and a half hours to talk to an office manager who is supposedly 'in a meeting' while half the time she is clearly not..coz you can see her standing around the desk and making stories or whatever is totally uncalled for! Some will treat you well for sure but the bulk of them And oh, don't prepay for a service...you will get the last appointment and get rescheduled severally. I would rather get treatment elsewhere where there's professionalism amongst the staff. read more

Had my last review taken down. Not sure why ... maybe I was too short and to the point. I suggest reading the "not recommended reviews" it is littered with 5 star reviews that read like they are fake and 1 star reviews that got quashed to make this place seem better than it is - almost all their 5 star reviews read like someone typing it at a desk than actual customer stories. Well anyways onto the review. I had a couple fillings from this place - and after reading the reviews here and talking to friends I have a strong suspicion my teeth could have been fine, but I suspect the dentist was pushing hard for services I probably didn't need. I really should have gotten a second opinion. Almost all of them had to be redone 2-3 times and I was in extreme pain for months. They gave me the bill for my work that I paid up front and I had I believe a 40% copay. Later on I got the bill from my insurance company and they settled for about half the invoice (insurance companies argue down bills all the time). Now instead of my copay being 40% I ended up paying about 70-80% of the bill. I called Garland up and said hey this is a breach of contract I need my money back, seeing as you settled with my dental insurance for less money my copay needs to be adjusted with it. They gave me an excuse that the insurance company never paid them so they couldn't give me the money they owed me.. but once they got paid they would send me the money. It's been a couple years and I haven't heard back- this is theft plain and simple. I suspect they pull this scheme on almost everyone to get people to over pay. Just because someone else owes you money doesn't mean you can steal my money. Now on a scale from 1 to 10 on how bad their billing is I would give this about a 2. Normally I would give this a 5 or 6, but I have a friend whose experience was a 10 and I would feel awful to put my experience over a 2 considering what they went through- do not touch this place period! Nothing to do with Dr Davis' capabilities and expertise. He is a relatively good and personable dentist. However, the front office leaves a lot to be desired. For a small-mid sized practice, one would expect the front office to be more streamlined and structured. The response "I have to get the person responsible for 'x'" is quite frequent and eventually, that person is "Not Available At This Time". Well, do not wait for a call back, which if received, it's just to tell you the issue is still being researched. I have been waiting for almost one month for a billing clarification from the financial coordinator, this after 3 - 4 versions of why we were being billed for a pre-paid service. My piece of advice would be, NEVER PREPAY FOR A SERVICE AT DR. DAVIS'. WAIT UNTIL SERVICE IS RENDERED. IF YOU DO, YOUR PAYMENT WILL BE APPLIED TOWARDS SOMETHING ELSE AT SOME POINT AND YOU WILL BE CONVINCED WHY IT MADE SENSE TO DO SO. read more

Great experience with a new dentist. My previous dentist had retired and this was an emergency. Dr. Davis was referred by a family member. I'm glad I came to his office. My crown had fallen out while eating something sticky and I went to him to get it reattached. Everyone on his staff was professional and polite. The wait time was average. Dr. Davis was very professional yet personable. He addressed my concerns and X-rayed my tooth to make sure everything looked good before reattaching the crown. And in no time my crown was reattached and I was on my way. My new dentist going forward will be Dr. Davis. read more

Walk away from this place. They are the so overpriced and they are untrustworthy. I called as a new patient and was told they accepted my insurance. Once I got into the chair on my fist and only visit: I was told that the front desk couldn't reach my insurance company to see what was covered, so perhaps I should just use the new patient special of $99 for cleaning and then that would be credited to my account when they got a better handle on what was covered. When I called to ask about why my POC had an empty insurance section they told me they did not take my insurance. After all that they sent me a bill with finance charges for two months. I have been a patient of Dr. Davis for one year. I appreciate that he is an expert dentist and keeps my teeth healthy. I get regular cleaning and X-rays when needed. I have tried Invisalign also. I love my results. They offer payment plans, if needed. The staff is friendly and they were able to accommodate me during Covid. After getting a card in the mail I decided to check him out for a simple cleaning. The hygienist made a face. Rude. Then tried to tell me the cavities I have. Isn't that the dentists job?! I ignored her. Anyway the cleaning was ok. They said they ran out of fluoride. Ok?! So the dentist comes in. He's friendly...until he starts trying to push services. As soon aa he sat down, the hygenist blurted out , " she has 5 cavities." Hahaha again i ignored her. Dentist seemed to ignore her too.... Anyway so we look at my xray. Why is it normal to tale them every time you get a cleaning!?! Money hungry ALL dentists are like this and its STUPID. He goes , "ohhh Lord....." I about flipped... 35 minutes ago-Edit I would not recommend this dentist. The prices for their work is extremely high even with insurance. I took this same case to another dentist and their process and pricing were extremely lower than this practice. They use scare tactics and condescending explanations as to why you need certain work. The office manager had the audacity to say "you need your teeth to eat" as if I didn't know that. I was offended and felt as if I was being judged for not having dental insurance for the work that would have prevented the problem -again no dental insurance. They quoted me a price of $7,000 for the work and even with insurance, the work is still in the thousands. Save your time and look for another dentist. As you can see from other reviews, their prices are very high and I really question their business practices. It's not about the health of your teeth; it's clearly about the money. read more

Very disappointed after first visit to this dentist, read several reviews about their billing practices but gave them the benefit of the doubt because everyone complains about doctor bills and they had many positive reviews. Don't make the same mistake I did. When setting up the appointment I gave them all my insurance information, I was told no problem. The day of the appointment I was told "The way your insurance company works is you have to pay in advance and they will reimburse you". After a $280.00 exam and during the course of trying to get me to commit to $8,255.00 in dental work they finally admit that they don't accept my insurance (Carefirst Blue Choice). So it's not the way my insurance company works, it's the way their company works. I have to pay them and then try to get my money back from my insurance company. Good thing to have know up front. They were very pleasant and helpful. But remember, the definition of a con man is one who gains your confidence first, and then screws you. read more

What a horrible experience. At first it wasn't so bad. The exam was fine-everyone was friendly...then they started to push different things on me. They told me I needed to get my teeth bleached (I'm a coffee drinker...so sue me) and then said I needed to get my teeth straightened (not by braces, but by invisalign). I told them that I would like to have some information on it (if my insurance would cover it, etc). They took this to mean that three different people should talk to me about why I needed to get it, then they'd force me to watch a video while they all sat in the next room and talked, then they'd literally add it to my bill and asked me how I'd like to pay. No joke-thousands of dollars worth of services were on that bill that they had not done including the fillings I needed (that had not been done yet) and the invisalign which also had not been done and which I told them I was not sure I even wanted to do. I am kind of wondering what sort of a kick-back they get from the Invisalign people... And did I mention that this was my first (and only) visit with this dentist? A new customer and they were billing me for services not rendered. To begin with, these folks are a bunch of fraudsters out to suck your money out of your pockets. The $99.00 promotion they offer to first time patients is nothing but part of their grand scheme of scams. They will always find a dental problem with you, even if they have to lie to do that. When you go in for the initial visit, they will stop halfway, usually after the X-rays and inform you (lies, of course) that they cannot proceed with the cleaning until they have taken care of more complex problems which invariably costs more money. My advise to you at this stage is to get the hell out of the facility. If you don't leave and you don't have the money they will quickly apply for some credit and subsequently rip you off. Laura was despicable. This woman was coughing up right on my face through the entire procedure. Guess she did not realize how she was stinking right in my face that day. It was horrible, so disgusting and I am being told that this is a qualified hygienist!! Lord have mercy. I filed a lawsuit against Family Dentistry. I lost but I am appealing the obviously wrong decision of the court. It is important folks should be aware of the activities of these scammers before they grab more victims. read more

I am giving this dentist office 2 stars because the hygenist cleaned my teeth better than any other. Now on to the issues - I came in to get my teeth cleaned & thats all Iwanted but... #1 they told me they accepted met life but didnt tell me they were not in the network. That means I pay more. #2 I didnt ask for a consultation with the dentist but he came n after I got my teeth cleaned to tell me I had 2 cavities & talk about things like where he's from, etc. I paid $38. Two weeks later I got a bill for $140. R u serious, just to get my teeth cleaned. Dr. Garland u & your staff shouldnt play games & tricks because sometimes u get TRICKED! I have been a patient here for over 10 years. They used to be great. Now they are just rude con artists. I believe that for the last couple of years, all I have done is waste my7money. I have no confidence in them, their record keeping, their "dental plans", their dentists, or their billing system. Yes, all of that as well as rude treatment from the dentist and staff.
