Some 10 years ago this was the best pizzeria in Munich for me and I used to be a regular. It was a…read moretiny place with just 5-6 tables, always full and baking great pizzas in the wood-fired oven. Then the place expanded, annexing the restaurant around the corner, changed oven, staff and attitude. The quality of the pizza suffered, and everything else too. I come back once a year or so now and every time I'm convinced that there's much better places in Munich if you wanna spend a night out eating Italian. The staff aren't the most friendly and on a weekend night they really try to fill up the place by squeezing customers together. I was also disappointed with my pizza tonight. I ordered a margherita with extra cherry tomatoes. There was basically no cheese on it and there was ONE, no kidding, ONE cherry tomato on it. I guess I even paid 1,29 extra for the extra topping. LOL Still, it's not a catastrophe, and they do have a nice and quiet outdoor space.

When you follow up, the general manager screams at you and says "I do not want to deal with you as you get on my nerves and I have enough orders". The setting is simple, the atmosphere cozy and relaxed. Service is efficient and friendly. The lunch menu is small but adequate. We had the Penneta with pancetta, wodka and chilli. The pasta was cooked very nicely al dente, the sauce was creamy with the right amount of spice. The tartar was very fresh with shavings of white truffle. No complaints there. My dining companion asked the waiter multiple times for translations to English which the waiter wasn't very good at answering. it got to the point he just asked me to do it. While I was flattered in this scenario, might be annoying for other non-German and non-Italian speakers. My pasta was very good but quite a small platter. If it were not a late dinner, I would have definitely needed an appetizer or another order of pasta to be satisfied. The risotto was a better sized portion though barely enough without anything else. Our wine was good. A bit challenging to get a description of wine from the servers in English but we lucked out. Overall, it's a solid three. I'm sure I'll be back with colleagues but I'm not salivating at the thought.

The food here is excellent and the Kellerbier was divine :-)) The falafel for entree was full of flavour and delicious. My kebab main was delicate, tender and full of flavour. The baklava I had for dessert was probably one of the best baklava's I have ever had and, the coffee was good too. All in all a very pleasant experience in nice casual surrounding and very prompt and friendly service with a smile. You could tell most people were locals and knew the staff pretty well.
