On weekends they have crazy cheap steak, fish fry, and prime rib specials. You have to put up with the country music channel on the tv...(but on the flip side they have free wifi, so don't bitch). All in all it's clean, cheap, good, and friendly -- so why waste your change on fast food when you can get food fast, homemade good, and with a water back? It's the most pit-stop worthy place on a long empty haul where the only other attraction is an old corn silo with a tree growing inside it -- we call it the "Hannibal Lecter tree" and a big funny billboard for the "Hoopston corn jerkers." Basically it's a neighborhood bar. It's close to a lot of things in the so called downtown. The bar is located along some kind of back street with a sketchy looking parking lot. Inside it's not much better. The good thing is they have tons of beers, including a few that are on tap. It's about $4 for a basic cocktail. We got some and these were pretty watery. Food is nonexistent except for bags of chips for about $1 or so. They also apparently have frozen pizzas, but last time they were out of these. Has a few TVs for watching games. The bar is pretty close to houses so there's been lots of noise complaints of patrons. For a bar in a small town like this, it's pretty okay compared to others around it. It smelled putrid of cigarettes. Lighting was stale. There was no drink menu! But there were little golden sparkles: 1- free, solid pool table (which we used) 2- a barber shop in the back (???? what? but the barber was this sweet old man) 3- a nice little table with a new deck of cards 4- a soft-spoken, friendly bartender. 6- a row of fully running, new-looking video casinos. We left ultimately because of the clientele. One of the old, drunk men (looked like a group of regulars) asked my guy friend: "Are you trying to get into her pants? I bet you can't, they're so tight." I wouldn't say I'd ever go back, but this place does have its redeeming points.

The prices are not bad. What I don't like, they are cash only!
