Wilted, rotted greens and what? Unpeeled a avocado !!

Pretty disappointing $13 wilted salad - I could use harsher words but the staff was so kind - but will def not be going back (at the exorbitant prices - I will stick to Whole Foods up the road)

Chocolate Goodies That I'd Like To Have...
Mercedes C.

Garelick & Herbs is that all-in-one shop with a little bit of everything- for everybody. Go in and you'll see different types of Salads, Pastas, meats and Seafood items. You can also have Sandwiches prepared. Just select the bread of your choice towards the left of the counter. Lots of Beverages, Hibiscus Iced Tea and a few other drinkables. I like Garelick's style because it almost reminds me of a quaint shop in the countryside. It's also filled with jams, Gourmet goodies and lots of Pastries. But on top of all that, there some interesting chackies and trinkets. Heads up, Garelick is tight and around Lunch time can be a bit chaotic. By the way the dining-in area has been remodeled and looks fabulous. At times when I have a longer Lunch break, I just sit in. But I like this quasi Bohemian look that they have here. Prices are o...k but I like the quality of food and never disappoints.

They also provide a convenient, light continental breakfast with fresh mini croissants and bagels. My only real complaint was the noise from above. Staying on the third floor, I could clearly hear footsteps upstairs, so the insulation isn't the best. The room layout was also a bit quirky (like two chairs weirdly facing a blank wall), but the overall cleanliness and high-tech amenities easily make this one of the top stays in the region.

The J House staff really know how to take care of you at their restaurant . We ordered chicken nuggets and pasta with butter for the little ones. Several of us ordered the lobster bisque when we heard it as the speciall soup of the day. Others ordered flat bread pizza as appetizers. For my entree I ordered Caesar salad with chicken. All different lunch items were ordered by my family. Before they brought the Lobster bisque they gave us hot plates and told us not to touch the plates. A server came out with a pot and poured the lobster bisque into the hot plates.. Wow. It was not only delicious but extremely hot the entire time while having the soup. My Caesar salad was topped with a biscuit rather than croutons and an abundance of chicken. I really enjoyed it as did my family enjoying their meals. The cappuccino was over the top. I used a spoon to scoop the creamy foam off the top. Wow again! This was the best cappuccino I ever had.Sal E. New Rochelle .

Was worried that we would have a long wait, but was seated within 2-5 mins. Ordered the spicy honey Paloma (no extra spice) & iced coffee with whole milk to drink. To eat, we ordered the American Classic - scrambled eggs hard, bacon with wheat toast and another American Classic - add egg, scrambled hard with American cheese, bacon with wheat toast. Everything was delicious & cooked perfectly! The Paloma was top shelf. Still dreaming about it. My mother saw the freshly baked scones come out and had to get 2 cinnamon chip scones to go. We met the husband & wife owners and they were very nice. My mother couldn't stop praising how good the food was. I'm writing this review at 8:30pm and I'm still full from brunch. Highly recommend this place....just leave a seat open for me when I get there.

The only downside is that they don't take reservations for brunch, but trust me, the wait is SO worth it. We started with the mimosa flight, which came with a generous pour and several delicious flavors. Two things I look for in a good brunch: variety and a little buzz, this delivered! I ordered the steak Caesar salad, and the steak was juicy, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with the delicious potato fries. My best friend enjoyed her steak and eggs as well. We also tried the empanadas, including black bean & cheese, sazón beef, mojo pork, and buffalo chicken with sofrito aioli. Each one had its own unique flavor, and they were all delicious. Great food, fun drinks, and plenty of options. Definitely worth the wait!

This place is definitely resting on its laurels. Very impressive when you get there but the actual…read morehotel part seems like an afterthought. Very randomly put together furniture pieces, ants in the room (came back to see my coffee cup from breakfast swarming in ants), and no refills on the soap which still come in the little bottles. Our room didn't even come with a Do Not Disturb sign. Also our windows had dew all over them and obviously had not been cleaned for awhile so we could not get a clear view outside. Housekeeping did a great job, though, and the shower got hot and had good pressure. No racks for your towel in the bathroom, though, so we had to hang on the shower door. Our mattress was nice a medium firm, I think we had to upgrade for it but it was worth it. Front desk was okay, not very friendly. When we left, the person at the front didn't say a word to us or ask how our stay was. Parking lot was frequently full with event guests, at least it's free. But bonus was there are fireflies! As an event venue, it was nice but the wifi caused issues with the photo booth which kept having to be reset because it wouldn't connect to the printer. Also the speakeasy room was obviously not very well kept, we even were treated to a millipede or a centipede crawling on the wall behind the guests as they sat on the sofa. For the amount guests pay, I think they deserve better.

When looking at reviews online, it flooded six months ago and did not appear to have been handled. Only two out of our six room outlets worked. And they did not provide amenities to their customers. After arguing with the main desk we were moved one level up. Other than that, the scenery was well taken care of, and all though the pool closed early it was well maintained.

The dining room is anchored by an olive tree that rises improbably from the center of the floor, its branches catching the light from a constellation of milk-glass globes. Along the bar, bottles glow against whitewashed brick, and the marble counter is set with striped linen napkins. The effect is part farmhouse and part supper club, and it is more inviting than either would be on its own. The menu favors familiar dishes executed with care. A glazed salmon arrives lacquered and deeply caramelized at the edges, resting on wilted spinach and a bright hash of corn, peas, and shallot, all bound by a butter sauce worth chasing with a fork. The fish sandwich is a study in restraint: a well-seasoned, pan-crisped fillet, a soft brioche bun, and a tangle of slaw, with a plump pickle and coleslaw alongside, as tradition demands. Dessert is where The Shed allows itself some indulgence. A dense, fudgy brownie, dusted with powdered sugar and set beside a scoop of vanilla ice cream melting into chocolate sauce, recalls childhood without apology. Notably, the restaurant takes its non-alcoholic drinks seriously. The mocktail list is broad and thoughtful, a welcome gesture of hospitality toward diners who would rather skip the spirits without skipping the fun. Service, led on this evening by a warm and unhurried server, matched the room. Tables linger here, and no one seems to mind. The Shed isn't trying to reinvent anything. It simply does the familiar things well, in a room that makes you want to stay for another round of dessert and another hour of talk.

Since it was around lunch time, I thought I would browse the Avenue to see if I could grab a bite. It was a short search since Le Pain Quotidien was right down the block - and since I'm a fan of the brand I thought it would be the ideal place to go. Le Pain is a fast-casual chain that serves soups, salads, sandwiches, and baked goods. The best way to describe the workflow is to compare it to Panera, though Le Pain has better aesthetics, offers better food, and has table service if you choose to dine in (okay so maybe it's not appropriate to compare it to Panera). Decor is nice - it's semi-upscale without being stuffy, totally accessible to the casual shopper on the Greenwich Ave. Anyway, I was dining in so I had a seat and started browsing the menu. I didn't want anything too heavy, and the mozzarella melt looked perfect. This was kind of like a big crostini topped with cherry tomatoes, arugula, chicken, and mozzarella. The dish was great, all the ingredients were fresh and complemented each other well. It was also the perfect lunch size - I felt satisfied but not stuffed. Service was good, everyone was really friendly. Overall, I had a great experience at this Le Pain - the food is good, the employees are friendly, and this is an ideal place to stop in for a quick meal. I would definitely return for another meal (and some baked goods) if I'm ever in the area again.
