They even have a few train tables inside one of the trains! Outside the museum, there are 3 types of trains you can ride on (small medium and large). Starting with the medium one, it's an old fashioned cable car type of train you can ride on that loops around the museum with a few stops along the way. It was probably used for short distances as a city train. This train seems to be running all the time while the museum is open (maybe not during the winter months but I could be wrong) The small train is a bench train you straddle where you go through the forest and into a tunnel. This bench train is basically benches on wheels connected to each other in series, pulled by a strong lawnmower, but it totally works and it's sooo fun!! This train is definitely not running in the winter for obvious reasons. (Update: I stand corrected it IS open during the winter!!) The last train you can ride on, the really large one, is a noisy passenger train that has a really high ceiling it was probably used for long distances. I didn't see this train all the time so it might have a specific schedule. There's also a model train room and this is by far my 3 year old son's favorite spot as Thomas the train is there! Unfortunately more often than not Thomas is out of commission but you can still see him even if he's not going down his track. I also went here around Halloween and they decorate the trains as per my Yelp photos. A dream come true for any train enthusiast, even a 2 year old would enjoy it (mine started going at that age) Not too far of a drive from Montreal maybe 30-45 mins max. If you don't have a car not to worry as you can get here via the TRAIN as it's right next to a train station! There's also a small IMAX room which is extra in addition to the entrance fee. They also have a cute souvenir store. You could easily spend the day here if you have the energy or interest, there's so much to see! The folks who work here are super friendly and know their stuff when it comes to history and trains!

And it's fun going for a ride on their little train that takes you for a nice ride for free all around their territory which is fairly big. The metro station is actually very clean, quiet, yet quite busy and active in the morning. I wish we had started taking the Metro earlier in our trip as we would've made this the go-to form of transportation as it was quite cheap compared to what you would pay in America. Instead of getting a one-day or three-day unlimited pass, we decided to get direct one time route passes at $3.25 Canadian per pass. The trains get you to your destinations fast and the whole experience is great. The trains are quite modern, new, and clean. We found that the stations were very quiet and the ridership very courteous, polite and friendly (versus what you experience in America).

It ain't a pretty station, a bit dated in its design, but Métro Saint-Laurent sure gets the job done! First, it is located in the Ville-Marie arrondissement (borough) in the heart of the city. While there are a zillion ways to get from place-to-place in the city, Métro Saint-Laurent puts you a 5 minute walk to one of the epicenters of North American comedy: Just for Laughs. It's a 15 minute walk to Old Montreal and within a few blocks from Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). It's also a short walk to Notre-Dame Basilica (15 minutes), MAC Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal (5 min.), Quartier des Spectacles (a block), and Parterre du Quartier des spectacles (less than a block). This side-platform station serves the green line -- and is one stop away from Métro's epicenter, Berri-UQAM (home of the green, orange, and yellow lines). You'll find trains riding every 5 minutes or so, so you don't necessarily have to sprint to catch your ride. I also like some of their cool features. They have a 38-bike Bixi dock (Montréal's bike-share program). You'll also find some cool murals on the platform by the late, great Claude Vermette. If you have to get to downtown Montréal, I highly recommend coming and going via Métro Saint-Laurent! With the open layout, consisting of two island platforms on different levels, and loads of signage, the station was very easy to navigate. It reminds me of Washington, DC's metro! One thing of note is a very long line at the fare machine. However, in fairness, it seems one or two fare machines has been pretty standard in Montreal.

There are several exits that lead to UQAM (University), library, bus terminus or streets. I strongly suggest to wash your hands and your phone after walking through there. There could be times that the escalator doesn't work which could be tough for people who can't walk up or down the stairs. It's usually clean in terms of not much litter on the ground. There are janitors always around. As well, this station doesn't smell unless it's the elevators to the ground exit. It could smell like marijuana or urine. A plus is it one of the stations that starts the earliest and go sober the latest. It's great of you don't want to take a taxi or Uber . You will see homeless people inside asking for money but they aren't disruptive. They also may be sleeping, drinking or smoking.

We didn't have time to book a tour, but tours are offered. We slowly drove by Habitat 67, then illegally parked the car and took some photos. Traffic was minimal the day we visited. The Wall Street Journal ran a story on Habitat 67 on September 7, 2022. That article reported that monthly dues are now $760 / cube / month and that the complex needs some structural repairs.

What a cool housing and architectural landmark. I highly recommend to drive over and see this amazing piece of architecture. I did not realize there is a guided tour. If I had more time, I would have done a tour. I could not stop looking at this beautiful building.
