Milo's is a small, charming mom-and-pop shop where I may have found the best coffee I've had in Texas. And I say that as a daily coffee drinker and unapologetic coffee snob. Perfect cappuccino. Then an extraordinary coconut-infused cold brew "Aerocano"--worth the trip by itself. I came for one coffee and stayed for another. I only tried the coffee, although the food coming out looked delicious. The ambiance is charming, the service phenomenal, and the owners are lovely people who actually want to talk coffee. Don't come expecting the usual anonymous coffee-shop experience. Come to linger, talk coffee, meet the owners--and apparently talk surfing, because, yes, they surf. My latte was very good! The donut selection also looked pretty great - but I forgot to order one to take home to dad. The lady who took our order was very nice, and took extra care bringing our order to us (we could have easily gone to the counter to grab them, but she was kind enough to bring it over). What it lacks in decor, it makes up for in flavor. My sister ordered the lemonade and it was very good and very tart! It made both of my ends pucker. The cortado is lovely. Not punchy, fantastic texture and cream. Just a touch of Mexican vanilla flavoring so that it doesn't take over. Smooth and silky. One of the better cortados I've had in the city (Probably in my top 3 now?) Really the only downside is how hidden away it is. Boca Chica is an extremely busy street, so you have to be intentional coming here. It's not necessarily a "stumble upon" spot like with others. They've got soft serve, Dole Whip, hand-scooped Blue Bell, soft serve fruit bowls, shakes, banana splits, and just about every topping you can think of. Looked like they had smoothies too -- kind of an all-in-one shop. They also had a lot of classic dishes like layered sundaes. Bottom line, there was some kind of ice cream treat for everyone in there. Ok amount of seating inside, with extra tables outside. Business was clean and service was efficient.
