As much as I hated to do so, I couldn't take the chance the 10 cancellations would turn to 15, then to 20. Just too much money to take the chance. I started to feel like they were running a racket. Train one day, then cancel, promises to fix and make up, cancel again. Then for me to cancel the contract, Retro and their billing department say they have nothing to do with the trainer... but the trainer and all the billing goes through Retro???? Made no sense. Still waiting to hear if I will get a refund, but anyone interested in signing up for training, beware!

I've switched gyms about six times in the past few years. I've been to LA, Metro, Retro, Planet,…read morethe YMCA, and TR Fitness. I think this is the happiest I've been at a gym. Unbeliveably clean, friendliest staff ever. I don't think I've ever walked in without hearing a "Hey, welcome, how's it going" or leaving without hearing "Bye, thanks, see you soon". Lots of new, updated equipment, also solo spin bikes, multiple cardio machines, and punching bags for those who want to get that into a workout. Also drinks, bars, whatever are considerably cheaper than they were at other gyms I've been to. Sure there's no pool, juice bar, etc. But for me, I don't need that. Like at all. It's relatively cheap here. $10 plus fees for a base membership and $20 plus fees for a peak membership which lets you bring a friend free, entitles you to personal training sessions, and also gives you access to tanning and massage equipment. Definitely come check it out. I've been very happy here.

I used to be really religious about going to the gym when I lived in both Maryland and Long Island,…read morebut I had trouble finding a gym that suited all my needs once I got back to New Jersey. KS seems to fit that. Although there are competing gyms in the area that have a larger selection of equipment for a lower price, KS is family owned, much friendlier, and has a more central location. There are also not a lot of "juice-heads" who go there. It tends to be a a pretty non-pretentious crowd. It could just be open a little later.

They have a separate entrance for the women's gym, but since we are both male we went through the regular entrance. If you're a female, you an use both. They have a little dining section right when you enter where you can make coffee and relax. The rest of the floor is the gym which is massive; I'll be honest in that I didn't get to see everything cause we were pressed for time. They have a very nice pool and hot tub in the back. I didn't get to swim but the pool looks nice and clean. Locker room is in need of some updates. It was a little crusty and the carpet was peeling in some spots. Overall, it's a nice family gym that needs some small updates here and there. I will definitely be back!

As far as another review goes where somebody rifled through somebody's belongings in the locker room. Maybe they should've put a lock on the locker. Hello.... I wouldn't leave my purse or belongings sitting out in the open or even in a locker unlocked. So that is kind of silly to begin with and yes it could've been an employee but it could've happened with another customer or member as well. I would not leave my belongings in a locker without a lock if there was a security guard & a camera watching the lockers. Unfortunately we live in a world where locks are needed.. duh ... The staff seems very nice. They don't don't actually do a lot .Last time I was there there was at least five or more of the staff standing around the desk and not walking around or monitoring anything. The place was kind of empty but then there should be so many on staff at that time. The facility is pretty clean. Yes like it any place there are some jerks that don't clean off the equipment so you could either report them at the desk, say something to them yourself or like me just clean the equipment yourself before and after you used it. It is a pain but at least i dont get or leave my germs or sweat for someone else.. For what you pay for you get a decent gym. With decent equipment and I guess you just have to pick what time to go that it's not busy. There are not a lot of germs in this area, and we are lucky enough to have one that is open 24 hours except on the weekends which they're still open in enough time that you can get your ass there if you really wanted to. No place is perfect but this is a pretty decent gym. If people were a little bit more conscious, courteous, and used a little bit of common sense. It would be even better.
