A good alternative to large stores. It would be nice to have more small shops like this.

Down to Earth Farm - Find them at the Arts District Farmers Market on Wednesdays from 4-7pm!

I can really appreciate the small, local farmers and Down to Earth produces some of the most…read morebeautiful fruits and veggies that I have ever seen in the area! They grow more than 50% of flowers on their farm and if you ever get a chance to buy a bouquet, you won't be sorry. Absolutely as gorgeous as their produce! I happen to visit their booth at the Jax Arts District Farmers Market in Riverside on Wednesdays and the woman working it is very knowledgeable about the farm and agriculture. The actual farmer wasn't present, but I believe she said that he has been working his farm for over a decade. That's pretty impressive and very progressive especially for the Jacksonville area seeing that I grew up south of Gainesville where most of the bigger farms are located. The prices are so reasonable for the quality and varieties offered here. Just check out their in-season produce and flowers so you'll know what I mean. I took photos. :)

I was trying to stick to a grocery list, so I only got French breakfast radishes and a red onion, but they were very friendly and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for them again at future markets. Maybe next time I'll even be brave enough to buy the gorgeous Chinese broccoli they were selling for just a few dollars!

This really isn't much of a Farmers market yet, but I know once folks start catching on that the…read moremarket is at this location once a month, more vendors will start to bring their wares to this location. The 210 Farmers market is only quite literally a couple of tents put together in the Watson Realtors parking lot. The market is held the 2nd Saturday of every month from 10am - 3pm. There are vendors with fruits and veggies, homemade miniature muffins, there has been a seafood vendor out of Mayport who has had a booth on occasion, a Brit who has a bakery down south who sells the most wonderful meat and sheppard pies and a specialty pasta vendor whom has more than once overwhelmed me with the endless array of bizarre handmade pastas that he sells. Perhaps now that the weather is warmer more vendors will start setting up shop at this market, in the meantime I am happy with the few who have loyally continued to set up shop on County Road 210 over this last year.

Garden supplies. Funnel cakes. BBQ. Boiled peanuts. Fresh baked bread or pastries. Some art. Unique home or handyman type items. There wasn't really any of that. Sad really. The location needs to be more visible. When it was in the Watsons real estate lot there was more activity. I think considering one of the vacant lots on the CR210 where people could see it and know it was there every Fri& Sat or every other week would allow it to grow. Even a Swap Meet feel where people could purchase booths or bring their own table to see consignment items, Handmade, up cycling items, used items like swip swap is a better idea. If anyone has that dream and ways to make that happen I would be happy to volunteer to get it up and functioning.
