I thought I had eaten at all locations of this small chain, but I was wrong ring. This one opened about 7 months ago, and I just found out about it. This location is off the beaten path about a mile from all the activity. It's in a small strip center and is an end spot so parking is rather easy. When we walked in, it kind of reminded me of their original location. It even has some of those covered booths, which is where we got to sit. They are better in this location as the tables are bigger and the sitting area is larger. The menu is a little different than what we are familiar with. Also, they have made my favorite order unavailable to make any substitutions. Our waitress was friendly but had some issues. She was able to get my wife's taco fixed (it came out with only lettuce and tomato), but she failed to bring us the sauce that she went on and on about. When we said something about it, she brought it out after we were done eating. My food was tasty, but it could have been hotter. Also, we like spicy food, but the queso was "HOT". We just needed extra drinks in order to handle the spiciness:) Will I return? Unfortunately not as my wife was really upset with the service and food.

    Not melted cheese enchiladas. :(

New location but the quality of food isn't consistent with any of the other Garcia's restaurants in NB or SM. Taco meat was very bland. Imagine cooked ground hamburger meat without any of the traditional seasoning. Cheese enchiladas weren't melted. Had unmelted shredded cheese inside. Tasted okay but wasn't expecting them to not be thoroughly heated as the Cheese on top of the enchilada. Chalupas dinner were refried beans Only... Kind of odd. Meat is an additional charge. Chips were Great. But Very Weak "hot" sauce!! Sad. Doubt if had any peppers in it. If ya like it very very mild, well this IS your place to get it. Service was Great. Wait staff were all very friendly. We'll probably be back to see if the new business kinks get worked out or maybe this is just how they do it.

    A Michelada and a margarita

The service was very slow due to the waitress not familiar with the computer she was inputting the order into, especially the alcoholic drinks on the menu she couldn't find them on her gadget then telling us they didn't sell them.... She seemed a little lost, forgetting to bring items like tortillas, refill on the salsa, no water refills. The owner made his way round, introducing himself seemed nice. The food and margarita tasted good. The Michelada needed alot of improvement. The restaurant looks pretty. Hopefully, the next time we return the glitches of opening a new business will be sorted out

Franchise Mexican food. Refried beans were runny but tasted ok. Tacos were ok but I found a chicken bone in one of them.

When we got to the loop, the navigator showed it was still a little way to go. As we usually hop onto the loop must be the reason, we had never seen this place. The restaurant is in the back of a little shopping center. Since this was midday, the shopping center was packed. We actually had a hard time finding a parking space. We walked in and were greeted immediately. The space is much larger than it appears from outside. We were taken to our seats, and quickly had a waiter deliver water and menus. When Nicholas found out this was our first trip, he was excited to share his knowledge of his favorite things and make suggestions. While we were deciding, he brought us our chips and queso. We decided what we wanted, placed our orders, and started in on the chips, queso, and salsa. Both the queso and salsa were warm, and the chips were light and tasty. After our food was delivered, we talked with Nick some, and he suggested we come back in the evening as they had live entertainment. We enjoyed our food immensely and decided we would bring our daughter here this weekend as they are coming into town and love TexMex. Nick did a great job of keeping our glasses filled, the conversation going, and answering our questions. I can't say anything about the other waiters, buy if you get him, you will not be disappointed. Will I return? Definitely as we will be here this upcoming weekend:)

My poor dog actually slipped on some algae and went right into the river that day, so it was especially nice to sit outside, relax, and enjoy the unbeatable weather afterward. We went on a Saturday and the place was absolutely popping. The patio was full of families enjoying the sunshine, and the whole place had a really energetic, welcoming vibe. I brought my dog along with her travel bed, and it was nice to be able to settle in outside with her. The folks at the next table were also very sweet and asked about my dog, which added to the friendly atmosphere. Our server was very kind and attentive throughout the visit. She made sure we were doing well and checked in at just the right times. One thing I really appreciated was that she brought chips for both sides of our table. The chips were super crispy and tasted really fresh -- a great way to start the meal. I'm not usually the biggest Tex-Mex fan, but I have to say I really enjoyed my giant plate of two beef burritos. The portions were massive and the flavors were great. I ended up with so many leftovers that I ate them again for lunch on Monday and Tuesday, and they were still incredibly tasty days later. The only slightly stressful moment was that some kids were running around the patio a bit unsupervised. It made me a little nervous with my dog there because I was worried someone might accidentally step on her. She's not easily spooked, but I felt better once we moved her to the unoccupied side of the table. That said, this wasn't the restaurant's fault -- just something to be mindful of since servers are also navigating the patio with big trays of hot food. Overall, we had a great time. Friendly service, great food, and a lively patio atmosphere made for a really enjoyable visit. I'd happily come back the next time I'm in New Braunfels.
