I was pretty frustrated with a recent accident that I was involved in. Luckily, the person that hit me had insurance and had admitted fault. Allstate insurance was the party's carrier and they were really easy to deal with and provided me with a rental. Off to a good start! I had to take a day off just to get estimates and get a feel for who would be repairing my beloved little Honda commuter. I'm pretty picky with who works on my cars and want to be able to have a sense of trust and calmness. So i shopped around at nearby auto body shops near Antioch area where Im staying but didn't get a good vibe with the staff that were helping me with estimates and explaining the overall process. I decided to have Garage Works work on my car because he's conveniently close by my job and I've never had any complaints or bad experiences working with him in the years ago. Back in 2010, he painted my 64ss Impala when someone hit me. A lot of the hot rod community referred me to him as he really does great repairs/paint. Then last year, I got rearended and the tow truck even recommended him! I want to be able to have peace of mind and know that he guarantees his work and level of quality and craftsmanship that Linh produces is remarkable. You can tell a lot of car owners with very expensive high and vehicles trust him just by walking into his shop and seeing all the projects lined up in the parking lot. You can find majority of really old school all American hot rods and 140-1960's classics as well as High-End European and Japanese show cars. What I appreciate the most is Linh treats all the cars just as equal, even my little 2012 Honda CRZ commuter! He also walks me through the process and explains in detail what needs to be done in order for the car to be properly repaired & painted. He said that there are cheap ways to repair that are not recommended and there's the correct way to Repair so that the customer is happy and no issues later down the road. I like that he has the mentality of replacing parts instead of putting a bunch of Bondo and pulling dents out.I walk away with peace of mind after handing him the keys. Something pretty rare a customer feels especially With anything car related whether it's a mechanic, paint shop or collision repair. Rating: 4.5 stars This little place is hidden in the BACK of an alleyway in Hayward! I guess you can call it a hidden gem. It's so hidden, I had to circle about 5 times until I found it! I was about to give up on my third try but I thought "I already wasted gas circling, so mind as well try to get in...." (Pics for alleyway/location) Also, they don't have a sign on the shop itself except for the outside, so it might be a bit "hard" to find/notice. Just know it's the last place in the back of the alleyway with a lot of cars in the process of getting repaired. When I drove in, I felt a bit intimidated but don't worry, the guys are nice! I came here for an EXTERIOR car wash and the outcome of it was great! I think I had fallen in love with my car again because whenever I touched it, it just felt so.. smooooth! I noticed he didn't wash my rims but for the price of $10, I think it's a steal! My car wash took about 20 mins and there is free WiFi in the waiting area. The waiting area is kinda dim but it's very clean and there are also magazines that you can read while you wait too! I would definitely come back and recommend to friends. :) read more

I knew about Linh by reputation from when he built his sickass ITR during my high school years. I contacted him after I wrecked my Kouki S14 and he offered advice, but I cheaped out and got shitty quality/service elsewhere. When someone hit my STI I contacted Linh again because I wanted to make sure my STI was repaired correctly. He's painted the rear bumper, rear aprons, rear diffuser, and front bumper twice. He's my go to as far as paint and I recommend him to everyone that ever asks. Linh is more than just a painter, he's become a good friend and a great member of the automotive community. I brought my car to Linh with two dents and chipped paint from a rock that was thrown from another car. Told him my situation and just like that he said he had an opening for me. I brought my car to him to asses the damage I also asked if he can check out an issue I had with car after I had gotten back from another body shop. Linh was able to fix the damage, find the problems I had, fixed that as well, and paint the repaired section within less than a week. Also sent me updates on the progress! Unfortunately, I've had the pleasure of coming to Garageworks twice due to the bad driving that runs in my family. Once because a cousin of mine scraped the entire right side of my Toyota Corolla while backing up and a second time because of my own wrong doing of backing up into a truck, which resulted in a dented bumper and broken taillight. Both times, I have been impressed by the magic that Garageworks have done to my car. You can't even tell that my car has gotten into any accidents. Man where do I start. This place is a hidden gem. Not only is it tucked up in the back from the main street but it also has a bunch of old classic car shells laying around like an elephant grave yard. The thing is these cars don't get dropped here to die. Linh does amazing restoration, body work, and paint jobs. His crew is extremely knowledgeable and precious with their work. So I was referred to Linh @ Garageworks back in 2012 when a stray traffic cone on the freeway took out half my bumper on my Lexus. After plugging around my car and giving me a good estimate, Linh was able to have me back on the road in a week once parts were delivered. Linh even went beyond the service and took care some random pits around my car even though it was only the front end that needed replacement. Since then, I have went to Linh about once a year (some by choice, some by mishap). He's repainted my Mazda track car in it's entirety, mom's Toyota grocery getter, and my Audi from several CalTrans incidents. Moreover, he was able to source OEM Audi parts when large company competitors (Service King & Cook's Collision) told me they were on a waiting list of over 2+ months with no estimate delivery for their current projects. He's gone to bat for me with insurance adjusters trying to nickle and dime the jobs. Needless to say, he's got your back and responds quickly. After my first interaction with Linh, I got to know him personally and learned more over the years. He is car enthusiasts who's built many cars in his time, fisherman, and an avid military supporter...(mainly for Marines but who cares about the rest anyways? jk) You can also tell by all the flags he hangs from the rafters. His brother is currently serving active duty and he has numerous friends who are serving or have served (like myself). He has also coordinated several memorial events for his brother-in-law who died in a tragic hit-and-run accident as the suspect fled from the police. I never give a 5 star unless it's perfect. This place is OK , I was quoted $350 to have my hardtop resprayed oem color.However, when I got home I realized there were some areas that were missed around the top left edges of the weather stripping of the rear window and the right side of the hardtop, where it meets the glass window. In addition, the paint was a bit greener than the whole car. It's suppose to be Blue with a hint of green. I understand that it's not easy to paint match and old faded paint. But the touch up in a can that I ordered recently was well matched up to my car. I would have paid extra to have my hardtop done a little better. I wanted to comeback to have my hardtop re-sprayed, but I'm a busy person, I work & go to school full-time.I can't comeback and wait another 3 weeks for my hardtop to be done again, it's just not worth it. It seemed like they did a better job on other peoples cars, but again I was willing to pay more to have my hardtop done a little better...WTF? 4-7-2014 update on the paint job: The paint started to have bubbles probably due to not prepping the hardtop right. It kind of sucks when this happens after you spend good money on a paint job. Again I paid the asking price, I don't know why the owner skimped on my paint job when he does a good job on the other cars . At least I did not get my whole car done here. Got my m3 detailed here yesterday and I must say, it's never looked this beautiful. I stayed around while they did the whole car and marveled at the work and dedication they put in. Linh and his crew did a fantastic job with my baby and took great care of me while I was there. Today, I had to go out on an errand and got caught in the rain, needless to say I was extremely mad and frustrated with myself that I took my car out in the cloudy weather. Stumbled across this business on yelp while searching for a place that did car wash by hand. I am very particular about how my car is washed due to the fact that those drive through car washes can damage your car. Came here and ended up getting the exterior or my car washed. They did a fantastic job and my car was sparkling in no time. Not to mention they also spray waxed my car to give it a more lustrous look. It only took them about 10 minutes to do the exterior and it only costs $10. Great price for quality work. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants their car looking so fresh and so clean without paying an arm and a leg. I got into an accident in May 2013, and I only had the basic car coverage that didn't include taking care of getting my car fixed. Stupid, I know. The front of my 2008 Honda Fit looked destroyed. However, I was still able to start it and drive it from the middle of the freeway to the emergency side lane. It was to the point where the front bumper fell off, the radiator looked smashed in, and the metal that held everything together was barely attached and also smashed in. I was so lucky that the engine was fine. I am a girl who isn't much into cars, and I thought my life was over. I called my family mechanic, and they referred me to another shop in Union City. I towed my car immediately there. It sat there for about a week until they were able to give me a quote. Once I heard it, I thought I just had to sell it like it was because I couldn't afford it. It was almost as much as my car was worth. Luckily, a friend told me to tow it to garageworks to have them work on it. This was the smartest decision I ever made. I called the owner, Linh immediately, and he told me that I could tow my car asap to the shop. Within a few days, he gave me a quote. Since mechanically my car was ok, Linh told me he do his best to put my car back together. The quote was literally half of what the Union City shop quoted me. Fixing my car was not easy. It needed a lot of parts, paint, and time. Within a month, Linh called me to pick my car up. My schedule is hectic, and Linh stayed extra just so that I could pick it up. It was almost a month I didn't see my car. When I saw it in front of Linh's shop, I was literally speechless. It looked better than it did before I got into the accident. There was a dent on the side passenger door that he fixed and i didn't even ask him too! I was literally super happy and thankful I took my car to garageworks. This shop is literally a gem. Sometimes it's hard to reach them by phone, but I think it's because they are too busy working on customers cars. I spoke with a young gentlemen name Linh, I believe he is the owner, but I thought he was just some random thug when I first spoke with him. Don't judge because he was a really nice person to deal with. I brought 2 of my cars and my motorcycle here to have a few things painted. It came out matching perfectly and looks incredible. Took my sister's car in to get some interior detailing done a month or so ago. They wanted to see it before they gave a price. Her car was pretty gross inside. There was a layer of fur from her dogs; it covered everything. Garageworks was able to get rid of that though, and what a difference it made. (I plan on keeping the car relatively clean by vacuuming it myself, but I figured I'd have professionals deal with the initial big job of getting rid of all that fur.) Since I only had the interior done, it was $40, which I consider reasonable. I came here to install coilovers for my 86 toyota. Since my car is so old, it is almost impossible to find a replacement part. After searching online for a certain part that we couldnt find, they took it to the junkyard to find that part I needed. When I noticed that the guys this shop are willing to go pick the part I need out the junkyard, I could tell my car is in good hands. I was referred over to GarageWorks by my group of friends who had a good experience with their service. I spoke with the owner Linh Nguyen about some body work I wanted done on my 1998 Acura Integra. The job seemed like a very difficult task which involved a lot of modifications and repair work for the fiberglass bumper and body parts I wanted installed on the car. There were not too many shops that wanted to take on this difficult job, but Linh told me that he could work on it. So he got me a reasonable quote, and started working on my car right away. Throughout the process, he kept me updated with the progress of the body work, so I got a good look from start to finish with the amazing repair work that was done on my car. I was very satisfied with the results of his work and my car came out amazing ! What I loved about Linh is that he is very passionate about his work, and he took care of my car like his own, so I never had to worry about anything when the car was at his shop. You can tell that the guys who work here really care about doing a good job. My boyfriend took his car in the same day and the owner was very nice when he pointed out that he couldn't get some scratches out of his interior. He seemed genuinely upset that he wasn't able to make the car look perfect. This place is kinda hard to find because there is only one sign right after the restaurant supply company and then you drive down a somewhat sketchy narrow alley to get to Garageworks. I love Linh's work and he's a great guy! His Acura Integra was actually featured in Super Street magazine. So he's been in the works for a while. My car looks damage-less with fantastic color match that I envisioned. I own a 1993 Nissan 240sx and he always gives me great advice about any modification that I'm about to do on my car. The time my car spends in his shop is about average, he dedicated his time to give you the best quality body and paint job for the price. The only downside is that he shares the shop with another body shop owner, who has a slower turnover rate, so their whole lot area has a high volume of cars. read more

A couple of days after I got my mini van back I noticed in the bright sun some light swirls on a few areas. I called Linh Nguyen at the shop and explained what I saw. He told me to bring it back and he'd take care of it. I was a little bummed as when I picked it up the van originally it looked very good, albeit it was overcast weather. He did say at the time to let him know if I saw anything later. Anyway I brought it back at 4:50 in the afternoon and Linh personally hand detailed those light marks out. By 5:20 it was done and to top it off he gave me a generous amount of detailing liquid to go to further touch up and to maintain my paint after my car washes! I heard about GARAGEWORKS through a friend of mine and decided to give it a shot. I called up the place in the morning and the first person I spoke to was Linh. I requested a quote for a scratch/dent on the rear left side bumper but he needed to look at it in person to determine it, so I decided to stop by so he can check it out. Linh evaluated the damage for about 5min and gave me the quote right then and there. He said it would take about a week because he had many cars in front of us to fix and he needed to get the parts to replace it with. We decided to accept it so we left the car at the shop. This is where I appreciate the shops service: Throughout the whole week of repairing the car, Linh would give me pictures of updates of what was being done to the car which was really awesome.
