Their furniture layout and accessory placement made every room look as spacious as possible through ensuring flow and providing many ways for the eye to be guided around each room. They set everything up in less than a day and took everything down in less than a day. On take down day, they even brought me a thank you gift and filled the holes from the nails from the pictures they hung. Every single person that I dealt with at Dekora was fabulous -- pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient. Unlike some other staging companies that rent furniture, Dekora allows you to still be living in the unit that is staged (with the caveat that if you damage an item you are responsible, of course). They incorporated a number of pieces of my furniture so it was minimal work for me to remove pieces that would not work with the staging. And they offer you the opportunity to purchase any of the pieces that they use in your place for a discount. I picked up an attractive lamp at an affordable price using this offer. Dekora also recommended painters (who were great) and other unit improvements to make that would pay off strongly. Working with Dekora saved me a lot of work and stress. I would highly recommend Dekora -- I consider it worth every penny. My realtor was very pleased with Dekora's work and most of the people who came through the condo commented on how lovely it was. I have my four closets installed by DCG based on the 5star ratings on yelp. During installation, I…read moreasked Cory the owner why two of my closets have edge moldings while three edge mouldings were missing in the other two closets.. Cory told me something like the wall is not straight and that is the best he could do. And also adding the rest of the mouldings would costs me more money. Now, after giving some thoughts about the matter, I think Cory did not bring enough edge mouldings to my house and he is too lazy to come back to complete the job. He figure that he can get away with these lies. Also, the manufacturing process is sloppy. The second picture shows that the particle board edge is exposed . In the email, Cory said that there will be 5 year warranty on the closet. I asked him about it, he said the invoice is the warranty. There is no warranty in the invoice. Now I look back at all the 5 star ratings on this company. It turns out that all of them are from before 2018 when the previous owners were in charge. This company under the new owner does not deserve a five star rating. It does sloppy manufacturing and installation job, try to finish the job as quickly as possible and does not treat it's customer correctly. She must have some big extravagant house and hundreds…read moreof pairs of shoes :) While the latter part of that statement is only a bit of an exaggeration, swimming in house, I am not. 2 people, living in just over 500 sq ft, and a cat, one of us working from home, plus an active life means we're full up of stuff. And, we only have 2 closets, so I have been determined to maximize space. But I've honestly been failing there. There's only so much you can do with labeled shoe boxes. Enter, the Designer Closet Guys. Yes, I was drawn into their google ads because of their name and the sleekness of their site. Even though I've been told that the price for these guys is far less expensive than the California Closets etc, it's still pretty steep, and I will admit, I was a little sticker shocked. I had my reasoning though. Consultation took an hour to measure, design and show what the closets would look like on some cool, 3D software where they could manipulate the materials used and provide a quote right on the spot. We knew exactly what we were getting. After taking my deposit, the turnaround time was only 2 weeks. To save on costs, we stripped the old closet out and painted beforehand. Arriving at 1030 on a Monday morning, they were in and out by 1. Judging by the time it took just to strip and paint, (and the fact that once it took 2 hours for two of us just to put up 3 little bathroom shelves), I was happy to pay for my lightening fast closets! And now, looking at my new closets, I'm over the moon! Everything that once lived inside, now has an actual home... and there's so many empty shelves that I don't even know what to put on them... guess it's time for more shoe shopping ;p

We had 4 closets done, the two kid's rooms, guest room and the office and all are so much more functional and lovely than before. From the start to finish, everything went smoothly. Cara came to our home for the initial consultation, to take measurements and discuss what we wanted. She wore a mask, took all appropriate measures etc., and the best part is she input all of the closet dimensions into her program, and I was able to view my closets, on the laptop, and build exactly closet as needed. Everything from the colour, type of drawers, handles, EVERYTHING. The installer was fantastic as well, all covid precautions taken. He vacuumed everything after putting in the closets and even hung on the closet rail to show how strong they are. They have a lifetime warranty, which was a selling point. 100% happy with our choice and definitely recommend Cara and California Closets!

Update: the company I chose was Clever Quarters in PoCo. They're Canadian-owned, comparably…read morepriced, and far more open-minded when designing. I got everything I wanted from them after the California Closets designer said my design wasn't possible.
