Sam was very responsive when I called for service. They came out within a couple of hours. Young Mr. Jesus Flores showed up, very respectful, very knowledgeable, listened to my explanation, proposed the fix and very reasonable pricing. Fixed my issue and took the time to make sure everything was working properly before he left, and gave great advice on proper care. Im always worried about calling a service company and have had plenty of bad experiences, and some, downright crooked. But this time...what a great experience! Jesus is a true asset to Sam's company. Because of Jesus, Garage Door Star is permanently in my rolodex for future needs. Thanks Sam and Jesus, i'm happy you guys are out there. read more

My wife and I got three estimates for new garage doors. Sam's estimate wasn't the highest or lowest, but he seemed the most knowledgable, reliable, and professional. He helped us select new garage doors, assisted in the design, color matching, and installation. We opted for glass panes, double insulation, and wall mount lifters. We are delighted with the results. The doors look more modern, they are very quiet, and the lifters take up much less space. We recommend Garage Door Star highly. read more

Thank you Garage Door Star! From start to finish, Sam and his crew worked with us. We first reached out to get quotes. Then we scheduled for Sam to come out and view our garage door in person. We had an old swing out garage with springs on the edges and it was a safety concern we've wanted to fix since moving to our home. Sam gave me email quotes and then happily came out to see what we were working with. He gave us all our options on door styles, motors and door openers. We selected a simple door design, mid grade motor that comes with app connections (cool!), and asked for pin pad. The price was a good value compared to Costco and Home Depot so going with a local small business was definitely the choice for us, and we couldn't be happier! Within a week of getting the quote and visit, we paid our deposit and the crew was there installing our new garage door. The other companies said it would take 4-6 weeks or longer to get a new door and that we'd have to move our current storage racks or cut them down. Sam said we had plenty of ceiling space for a higher track installation and we didn't have to move or ruin our current storage racks. We are beyond grateful for this! I know it was a bit more work on their end, but we really appreciate being able to keep our storage racks intact. Overall it was a wonderful experience from start to finish, we highly recommend them if you are looking to update your garage. Thank you! read more

Our garage door springs broke, and my wife & I were basically trapped inside our garage. I couldn't open it manually. I called Garage Door Star left a message. I got a response in just a few minutes. Milo was out in about 2 hours. He got it repaired and working smoother than it had been in years in less than an hour. Milo was very polite & professional. I recommend them. read more

They replaced my garage door and did a fantastic job! Will definitely be referring them to anyone having garage door issues.

I had issues attempted to open my garage door arriving home. After several attempts I got it open and disengaged the latch and found the door slammed closed hard which lead me to the torsion spring broke. I called 3 other garage door companies on yelp and Milo at Garage Door Star was the only one to answer. He knew exactly what the issue was as I described it to him over the phone. He arrived within 30 min and installed the new spring and performed a recalibration and full maintenance on the door as well. He finished everything with in about 30 min and the door works better now than prior to the broken spring. Quiet as a mouse and smooth. Nice job. read more

Of course you never get a warning when your garage door springs break and it's always at the worst possible time. When I called several companies on Yelp and asked for an estimate I get the usual " We can come out no charge to look at it". Well I don't have time to sit and wait while these companies come out waste my time to give me high estimates because they know I'm tired and want it fixed now. Some when pressured quoted ridiculous prices. If you take a photo almost any job can be reasonably estimated without a visit. When I called Garage Door Star Sam immediately gave me a fair ballpark estimate. He came out about three hours later and had it repaired within an hour. He was friendly and professional. I'm not surprised he has so many five star reviews. Not an easy accomplishment when you consider that you can't make everybody happy. Apparently he does. read more

I came home after an appointment to pick up a few things and head back out. Unbeknownst to me, my garage door decided it had other plans. I was scrambling to find someone that could come out and fix it the same day. I opened up yelp and found a local company, Garage Door Star. I contacted Sam and he was out at our house within a couple of hours. He worked quickly and professionally and we had a new opener and sensors in a little over an hour. I called Garage Door Star for a quote to replace both of our worn out old doors, Beto arrived the same evening to take measurements and discuss options. The next day I called and ordered the doors. Approximately 4 weeks later the doors arrived and Sam, the owner, called to setup a install date. Beto and his brother Marco arrived promptly removing the old doors and hardware, while picking and cleaning up their work areas at all times. They quickly installed the new doors and hardware, also installing the two new openers that I had purchased separately. Garage Door Star was great pricing, cheaper than their over priced big name competitors. Thank you Beto, Marco and Sam for your commitment to excellent service. I would definitely recommend Garage Door Star for your next garage door replacement or repairs. read more

I spoke with Sam at 3:20 and I had a new garage door opener by 5:20! We originally made the appointment for the next morning, but he called me back and said he could come today. I was home and said sure! Now the garage door goes up so smoothly and quietly. I love the new system. I now have a battery back up for the next power outage. He even helped me reprogram the system inside my car so I don't need to use the standard opener. I am very pleased with my new system and with my experience with Sam. My garage door has been jumping back up for several days and will no longer remain closed. Being a decades long DIY'er I did some troubleshooting myself and diagnosed the door as being out of balance, or the spring possibly in need of replacement. There are many things I refuse to pay someone to do for me. Working on a garage spring is not one of them. It can be extremely dangerous without the right tools and knowledge, so I called Sam after finding his business online. Sam promptly responded the next day at our scheduled appointment time. Upon inspection, Sam indicated my spring was in good shape and all my door needed was a basic tune-up which is the lowest service in terms of cost. He also recommended my noisy bearings be replaced on either side of the door since they were in shambles. When he quoted me the total price, I wondered where the profit was and almost felt like negotiating up. Sam could have easily upsold me by suggesting a new spring, a new opener, or a number of other things. The man's integrity was evident when he only sold me what I needed. Once he completed the work, it was obvious he had cleaned and lubed the spring, lubed the rollers, and replaced the bearings as planned. The garage is balanced now and goes up and down with extreme stealth. Honestly, it is wicked quiet. After he left, I grabbed an adult beverage and stood in the garage while I cycled it over and over, showing off the smooth glide of my door in front of all my neighbors who were outside on the hot summer evening. I could not be happier with the service. I will definitely be saving his number to my contacts. read more

I had two other garage repair places come out and tell us we needed to replace our torsion springs and that was causing our garage door from not opening all the time. Both companies pressed us hard to do it that day but we did not. Garage Door Star was a 3rd opinion and Sam asked me to send him some pictures. He was convinced it was not our springs but rather our motor. When he came out he took the time to explain why he felt it was the motor and not the springs. Neither of the other two company techs even looked at the motor...hmmmmm Very happy with Sam and his service. Would highly recommend Garage Door Star. read more
