I love this company. #SimplytheBest! The first time I had a problem w/ my garage door, I called and talked with Jeff. He told me 3 things to check, which helped for free. A few months later, the "free quick fixes" had outlived their life, and I actually needed someone to come see me ($99 service call). It took Phillip 3 minutes to diagnose my problem, and offer a solution. He had the gear in the truck and 30 minutes later, it was completely repaired. I had asked Phillip, what I pay you to repair this plus the service call fee, and it doesn't work. With all of the assurance he could muster, he simply said, "That's the problem. That's the fix. It will work, period". I love when a professional who sees similar problems dozens of times a day doesn't try to bamboozle you, take advantage, or upsell you. "This is the problem, this is the fix, it will work. Period". BTW... Phillip is the 3rd company I had talked to. One company wanted to rewire my entire garage, and sell me an entire new lift kit... $8000.00. I won't name them. The 2nd company said, "$6000 but your wiring might not be a problem". Phillip at Garage Door Medics said, "It's a problem with the receiver going bad. Your clicker doesn't work, your button on your wall does... there' no wiring issue. $200 plus service call fee". Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to Garage Door Medics & Phillip & Jeff. You guys might have given up an unethical $6000+ upsell... but you will get my business, and every single person I can possibly recommend to you! 5 Stars! #ShopLocal. #NoPriceTagonHonesty If you have garage door problems in North Texas... have these guys come out before you ever consider anyone else!! read more

So this is the 2nd time we used Garage medics, and I'm going to stick with them. Caleb came out and replaced some parts that were hindering and even stopping the door from opening and closing properly. After he was finished working the garage door on point. very punctual and very quick. read more

Called for help on Saturday night. Technician arrived within 30 minutes. Repair was done in less than an hour. Glad I don't have worry about the neighbors cat coming into the garage overnight. My wife would like to wring its neck. read more

I'm a fool. My original project was ignored. I used them anyways. My home was built in 2017. I have two garage doors. The door I don't use, cause I'm in a wheelchair, now let's in light and fumes. I didn't overlook their work. The next day I questioned the work and after two days the company ghosted me. Even after sending pictures the company, fails to take responsibility. Positives, Caleb is a super nice person, very personable and I think genuinely wants to do the right thing. Negatives, the gate worked for maybe a week after he came out to fix it. They have a 30 day guarantee, but when they block your phone number where it automatically goes to a busy signal after one ring, it's hard to be happy. I tried for multiple days thinking it was just their system being down. Tried a friends phone and it went through with no problem. The call center was "surprised" by this, yet I tried calling right after I got off my friends phone and got a ring and quick busy signal again on mine. Got Caleb scheduled to come back out and it worked for less than a day. Tried calling and sure enough busy signal. Tried another friends phone and boom I got through. After politely and professionally describing my scenario to the call center, they told me they'd have the COO call me to discuss the situation because somebody else was out of the office. 5 days later, I've yet to hear anything. read more

I am so pleased with the work and my experience. These guys are GREAT. Love how they sent me a quote and I was able to set up the appointment through messaging and REALLY love Collin who did such an excellent job and was so great to work with. He showed me exactly what was wrong and what was worn out and did such an excellent job fixing things. Truly a pleasure to speak with him and have his help today, I'll definitely use this company again and Collin is just a class act through and through! read more

I found this company through Yelp. They honored the $99 credit for $49 coupon offer. They were able to come in 2 hours and I noticed they offer 24/7 service. I had a broken spring and I took Jeff's recommendation to install two smaller springs in place of the original one large spring for $249 total. Jeff was fast, thorough, and pointed out maintaining tips which I appreciate. Semper Fi. I like the advance texts with installer photos, electronic receipts, and emails. These folks are trying hard to make their customers happy and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Great experience. My photos are before and after. read more

I give these guys 5 STARS because they were PROMPT, PROFESSIONAL & KNOWLEDGABLE. We got an appointment super fast and the products they installed are top quality. They came out same-day and fixed our garage door right before we left for vacation. Extremely helpful and reasonably priced. Will call on them again. read more

They were on time, made a diagnosis, gave us a reasonable estimate, made the repairs, and were on their way quickly.

Sent them a message at 8pm for a quote not expecting a response until Monday. Had a message back through yelp in under 15 min! Had a phone call to set-up an appointment within 20min. They notified me exactly what to expect with a timeline for the service call & technician's name. He called 30 min to his arrival time. Identified the problem quickly and had my door sounding better than when I purchased the home! Couldn't be happier with their services! As a female, it's hard to find honest contractors and I am 100% confident behind the work provided! They are insured and licensed too! Thanks, Caleb! read more

Totally impressed. Cody was able to come out and help with my old garage door on the same day and he was able to massively improve the smoothness of operation. So grateful for the speed and cost of the tuneup! read more

This is a very sketchy company!!! They came in April and changed my garage door springs, wheels, and the cables for $700. Then in May the entire door derailed and they charged me another $99 to look at it. Once they looked at it they said they're not sure why it derailed, so $300 later they put it all back together till this morning when I came home the garage door derailed again. So I called them and the owner said I woke me up at 6am to tell him my garage is broken(keep in mind these guys are 24/7). I tried to explain that I have an emergency on my hand and he simply hanged up on me. When we called back to complaint, they said they'll send someone and we waited all day and no one showed up. I am sure they did something wrong and hence why the garage door has derailed twice in less than 4 months. Obviously customer service and work ethic is meaningless for these vultures! read more

I have reviewed this company before when I met Jeff at my daughter's to take care of her repair. It was 5 star. I can't help but give kudos to Caleb, who came to repair my door today. He arrived in record time, and the old broken spring replaced in short order, working in the heat! Total satisfaction one more time. read more

I recommend Jeff and Garage Door Medics DFW without hesitation. I have used them both personally and professionally as a general contractor. Called first company to schedule but they had a backlog of two weeks. Found Garage Door Medics on Yelp, and they immediately gave me an appointment for the next day. Trevor showed up early on appointment day, and quickly got to work. He analyzed the situation and told me that I didn't need a new opener even though it is over 20 years old. He fixed our problem and was completed with the job in an hour. Great service and friendly disposition! Two thumbs way up. read more

Our garage door has given us problems, since we first moved into our new home, in 2013. It always seemed to struggle to open and made a lot of noise when opening or closing. At one point, while construction was still going on in our neighborhood, it managed to move one of the rails and subsequently went off the rail. I was able to flag down one of the garage door installation crews and paid them $50 to fix the door, so I could leave for work. It remained noisy, but at least it was working again. Since that repair, I had to adjust the rails a couple times, just to keep it working. The, on a Sunday, when my daughter had to return to college, the door went off the rails again and wouldn't budge. I did not know how we were going to get her car out so she could leave! I ended up buying a long 2X4 and a crowbar and was able to get the door open enough for her car to be extracted. However, at that point, it was stuck, hanging diagonally, partially open. I'm pretty handy around the house, but one thing I try to avoid working on is garage doors. I used to have the entire Time-Life series on home repair and even it stated that homeowners should avoid working on garage doors (especially the springs), due to the danger of injury. So, I turned to Yelp* to find someone to service our door. Two of the highest rated vendors could not get anyone on site until Monday or Tuesday. But the door was stuck open and we couldn't leave until it was functional again. We just couldn't wait. The next company we called was Garage Door Medics. I spoke with Jeff, their Territory Manager and he said he could be at our house within the hour. Once he arrived, he looked things over and said he didn't have the parts he needed to make the repair and that his suppliers wouldn't be open until Monday morning. I was thinking I would have to sit in the garage all night, as there had been some burglaries in the neighborhood recently. Jeff could see I wasn't excited about the prospect of spending the night in a cold garage, so he said he'd try to fashion something from the parts he had with him to get the door closed and that he'd return the following morning to make the permanent repair. He saved the day! The next morning, he showed up before we'd left for work and finished the repair. He showed me the bearings had gone out in the cheap rollers that came with the door. We had him replace the rollers as well. The door that had always struggled to open noisily, glided up easily and virtually silently!!! He advised us not to put any money into the garage door opener, as the builder had used a cheap model which was more expensive to repair than to buy new. He also mentioned that he'd recommend a different spring configuration, opting for a double spring, rather than the single spring we had. This was recommended, due to the weight of the garage door. He said springs usually last seven years, so there was no rush (ours was 4-1/2 years old) but that we should remember to go with a double spring, when the one we had crapped out. It was obvious that Jeff was more interested in starting a relationship than making a quick additional sale. That was greatly appreciated. In summary, I HIGHLY recommend Garage Door Medics and Jeff Merkel. Ethical, concerned, quick, professional and helpful are the adjectives I'd use to describe both. read more

Yelp didn't let me down on this one! Called about a broken spring and Bridget was able to set me up an appointment for this afternoon. Jeff and Caleb called about 30 minutes out and let me know they were on their way. Replaced a set of springs and a couple of bearings and cables. Greased her up and made a few adjustments. Even anchored down the wall board with a couple of extra screws. Works great! Thanks guys. read more

Great service, Jeff came out when we had an issue with the garage door. He was very knowledgeable and timely. After repairing the issue, he walked me through what type of maintenance I should be doing to the garage door system as he was doing it. He also inspected the overall working to insure there were no other issues. Reasonably priced and quality service. 24/7 service available also, made the appointment on a Tuesday night after work and I had a Saturday appointment so I wouldn't have to miss work, they could have been out the next day if I had needed them to. read more

I really appreciate Sam's courtesy and knowledge of our garage door needs. He was very kind.

Asked for a tune-up on a rather new garage door system. Jeff came out and educated me on my system in a way I could easily understand. Builder grade material getting ready to break and he gave me options from "minimum to survive" up to "make it work perfect". He was up front with pricing for each option. I was also impressed that he told me how I could save money if I found a cheaper door opener on my own that he could then install for me. All in all, I found Jeff to be highly reputable and a pleasure to do business with. Any time a technician takes the time to explain how something works and gives me alternatives for dealing with an issue, it is huge in gaining my trust. Look them up...these guys are highly rated all over the review sites. They have my business!! read more

TERRIBLE and DISHONEST! Stay away from this company. I was quoted wrong on the phone, over charged on site, and unethically recorded my conversation without my knowledge. I recently called for a quote on replacing a broken spring, I was told the total price would be dependent on the price of the spring which would be anywhere between $80-$200. I have an average, run-of-the-mill, 2-door garage so I never imagined I'd be close to the $200 mark. I also mentioned the 50% off labor or 20% off parts coupon they have listed on yelp. I scheduled my appointment for that same day and Trevor arrived within four hours. After looking at my garage and deciding I needed all my rollers replaced, I was given a bill for over $400!! With a little bit of sticker shock I needed to call my father-in-law who has changed these things before. He confirmed my suspicion I was being completely taken advantage of and being over charged for a spring that cost $80. To replace just the spring would have been $288. I asked Trevor about the confusion about the price difference and he immediately became argumentative stating the spring on my door is the heaviest on the market and his company has 5 stars and is top rated (this was repeated several times). I also asked why the spring was over $200 when Bridget (on the phone), stated the springs wouldn't be over $200. Trevor snapped back saying he applied the 20% off parts which made just under $200. At this point I began feeling uncomfortable with Trevor and this situation, so I declined his service and asked him to leave. Trevor then tried to bill me a $99 service charge for simply coming out. I told him I was not paying him because no one made me aware of this fee, nor did I agree to pay this. And to my UTTER surprise, he starts playing my phone call with Bridget on his iPad!!! After awkwardly listening to our entire conversation (and me deciding I needed voice lessons), I, in fact, was not lying and did not owe any money. Clearly irritated, Trevor left only after leaving me with some snide remarks. So with the obviously over priced quote, rudely inappropriate employee, and surprise recorded phone call, I cannot not recommend anyone doing business with this company. I ended up going with another company who charged me less than half the price I was quoted by Trevor. read more

I am posting this to help other people out there who are looking for an honest company. I had a message from Jeff overnight due to a message I put out. He had someone out the next morning. Unfortunately another company showed up first and through a series of phone calls and mishaps I thought it was this company. When Kyle drove up the other company was half way through the job. Costly lesson on my part but I will call this company 1,000 times over and recommend them to anyone. You can tell by their communication and follow through they are the real deal! I've already given out their name! read more
