Having first been to Garage in 2010 to see my best friend's band play, this place (that used to be Red's) is a real cornerstone for me growing up in Doncaster.
The bar is really well laid out with great furnishings and a funky purple pool table in the centre - which is 50p a game as opposed to most places which charge £1 a game (or in the case of Ballers - also on Silver Street - £4 for an hour.... who charges by the hour?!) There's a jukebox, some orange sofas akin to The Sims, and a great picture of Dave Grohl wearing a flower halo on the wall beside the entrance.
The drinks are really cheap - last time I visited it cost me £2.70 for a jack & coke, and £1.20 for a pint of diet pepsi (I don't judge the non-drinkers I buy for!) Usually, they have -bombs really cheap as well, and a great DJ playing.
If you're in Doncaster and fancy an evening in a bar with "real music", then Garage is the place to go. read more
