I sat for about 15mins staring around after ordering my food at the different murals and decor. My date ordered the tomato soup which he ranted and raved about (had to politely remind him we were in public and he cannot lick the bowl). BUT THE NAAN !! oh My GRACIOUS !! Last time I had fresh naan was June 2017 in Frankfurt and I haven't been pleased since. But this naan was fluffy, with just the right char, slightly sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet and just the right size for me to NOT share (my date kindly ordered his own). I ordered lamb vindaloo which was lovely, seasoned well but I needed more pepper in my life with the dish. Just spicier and my heart would have been absolutely content. My date ordered chicken tandoori and was beyond pleased with the result (apparently he comes here often but only orders the banana chicken). Of course service was great. I was able to practice my German but our waiter was kind enough to explain certain things in English and they do have English translations on the german menu. TRY THIS PLACE !! One of the best Indian restaurants of Nürnberg has now finally come to Erlangen as well, as they opened a new restaurant where once the Alberts used to be. The location is simply brilliant, right next to a huge parking lot and near the Martin-Luther-Platz, with indoors and outdoors seating and really nice decoration. The food is just as amazing as before, so far I tried the Chicken Jalfrezi and Beef Curry, which were both absolutely delicious. The food is served with Basmati Rice and if you oder some Naan bread on the side and a Mango Lassi to quench your thirst, you'll have entered my own personal kind of heaven! The staff is much nicer than in the other restaurant, very attentive but they don't hover around, and extremely friendly! Don't be surprised, they will put the first two spoons of rice on your plate for you! Should you not be able to finish your lunch/dinner, they will also be quite happy to give you a "doggy bag" so you can take the rest of the food home with you (makes for a great breakfast!) =) They also offer their lunch deal here, from 11:30 to 14:30, which includes a salad or soup as starter and one of the main dishes. It is rather cheap and definitely enough for one person. But you can always go for the normal dishes instead, which range between 10-12 €. The choice is huge and it took me ages to decide - so many mouth-watering dishes to choose from!
