I hope they serve Mango Lassi in heaven!! Finally the Sangam has come to Erlangen! One of the best Indian restaurants of Nürnberg has now finally come to Erlangen as well, as they opened a new restaurant where once the Alberts used to be. The location is simply brilliant, right next to a huge parking lot and near the Martin-Luther-Platz, with indoors and outdoors seating and really nice decoration. The food is just as amazing as before, so far I tried the Chicken Jalfrezi and Beef Curry, which were both absolutely delicious. The food is served with Basmati Rice and if you oder some Naan bread on the side and a Mango Lassi to quench your thirst, you'll have entered my own personal kind of heaven! The staff is much nicer than in the other restaurant, very attentive but they don't hover around, and extremely friendly! Don't be surprised, they will put the first two spoons of rice on your plate for you! Should you not be able to finish your lunch/dinner, they will also be quite happy to give you a "doggy bag" so you can take the rest of the food home with you (makes for a great breakfast!) =) They also offer their lunch deal here, from 11:30 to 14:30, which includes a salad or soup as starter and one of the main dishes. It is rather cheap and definitely enough for one person. But you can always go for the normal dishes instead, which range between 10-12 €. The choice is huge and it took me ages to decide - so many mouth-watering dishes to choose from! Upon ordering the bill you will always receive a little something, either sweet tea (sweet is an understatement) or a tiny dessert - fantastic! Sangam makes delicious Indian food, full stop. Unlike several other Erlangen establishments, they actually spice their food and the result is amazing. We got the vegetable thali for two people, which had a really great variety of dishes and is a pretty good deal (26 euros for two people). Excellent Indian food in Erlangen, and in my opinion, the best in the city. We were a group of six and we pretty much ordered just about everything in the menu. All were good with very little complaints. The service was not that great but the food made up for it! Will return the next time I'm visiting for work. read more

My first time to Sangam. Everything was delicious. Vegetable samosas to start (order has two, I could only eat 1). Mixed tandoori grill as an entree. You could easily share this with another person - too much for one. All of the grilled meats and fish were flavorful and moist. The service was attentive and professional and also welcoming. I was sooooo disappointed! After reading rave reviews I expected amazing food. The samosa and onion pakora were ok. The sauces tasted like they came from a jar - not so great. Butter chicken was passable and super, super sweet. Paneer butter chicken was absolutely terrible! Tasted like tomato paste and a jar of salt. Too bad. read more
