We took the metro and then a bus from Midi south station and reached here. It was Sunday and as per him, Brussels is closed on Sunday that's why you are not seeing any rush. Anyway, we entered the restaurant. It was neat & clean, good ambiance. The waiter greeted us and we got the table in a quick time. We ordered Mysore Masala Dosa, Masala Dosa, Mini Ghee Sambar Idli, Vegetable Spring Kati roll, Onion Rava Masala Dosa. No doubt, the taste was awesome. Ghee idli especially. I liked my Dosa & Sambhar too. Plenty of options on the menu. Service was bit on the slower side though it was not crowded. And yes, they don't serve tap water. We paid 5 euro for water too. I am not used to paying for water so it's strange for me. And then they claim every fountain water in Europe is safe to drink. #irony

We waited for more than 30 minutes before being served and almost an hour before our food arrived. There was no decor to speak of. The whole night there was some beeping sound out of the kitchen or the cashier. The door of the restaurant wouldn't close shut that there was a cold drab coming in all night. Not fun when it's around zero degree! Food was okay. Nothing to write home about.

The ambience is cute with dim lighting and music. They start the table off with some papadum that is thin and crisp like a round big chip plus some chutney and sauces to dip it with. In ordering it was a task because of my parents. They are funny and they generally do not like chicken, instead like beef and fish. So I made sure to order beef seekh kabobs, plus mixed grills and saag paneer(spinach with cheese). We got our food but the beef kabob looked like chicken but in the dim lighting I wasn't sure, so I asked the server. They confirmed no it's beef. Then we tired it and we know how chicken tastes like. So then flagged down the server again and he got embarrassed and said they ran out of beef. I wish they were upfront about it from the beginning. They could have handled this situation better. At the end they were apologetic. But surprisingly my parents liked the chicken option and overall the food was really good. The naans were freshly made and great as well. The two servers at the end spoke to my parents about some authentic food variety etc. After the beef hiccup episode, this was a good experience. I would give them another try when visiting this city. It's always good to dine at the restaurant multiple times to get a feel for it.~

This particular neighborhood of Brussels has tons and tons of food options so if we didn't get a table the options are unlimited. Mumtaz is an old school restaurant with decor from the 1980s which has yet to be updated or changed. Being a small restaurant seating is limited so you manage what you got. The manager of the restaurant was from Lahore and he was making his best efforts but an improvement is required on that front. We specifically ordered beef seekh kebabs yet we got chicken seekh and when we checked with the server they said they ran out of beef so we gave you chicken. The food was pretty decent and the naans were tasty but management needs a rethink on how to run the kitchen and restaurant.

Really unimpressed…read more I went to La Porte des Indes with a group on a Saturday night. We knew ahead of time that the buffet was pricey, at 40 euros per person, not including any drinks, not even water. I looked at the menu, and that was also rather pricey at about 20-25 euros per main course. The buffet had just been set out and had a large selection, so I decided to go with that to be able to taste a little bit of everything. I'm glad I did the buffet, because now I can say without a doubt that it is not worth going back to this restaurant. My usual buffet strategy is to take a tiny sample of everything on my first plate, that way I know what to go back and have a larger portion of for my second plate. Nothing on the buffet was worth more than one bite, and I probably tried at least ten different items. Nothing was disgusting, but nothing was particularly good, and all the meats and fish tasted very overcooked. The food was all pretty bland, and nothing was even remotely spicy, nor did they offer and spicy condiments. The desserts were the same story; there was a large selection, but nothing was very good, aside from the freshly sliced mango. On the plus side, the servers were very good and super nice, and the restaurant was decorated beautifully. Unfortunately, they failed on the food, where it really counts. I definitely won't be back.

No time estimate was given, a beer was comped, and some nasty greasy food was plonked in front of us. No word on what the food was supposed to be, nothing. As we left the owner become all apologetic. Saying how he'd make sure our next visit would be worthwhile.... Going by the greasy food, I don't think it will be.
