Game Stop is okay for new and used gaming merchandise, and their return policies are adequate, but their prices aren't that great and they offer very little for your trade ins. My son and I have opted to sell our used electronics and games through other channels, and usually we get at least double than what they are offering. They the have the newest of everything (at the highest of prices), but it's hard to find older gaming products here, and recently my son has decided to go "old school" on some of his devices. we bought a refurbished Xbox from this location and it was crashing since the first day (in june 2024). We thought it was normal due to how much we play so we didn't return it. Lately it has been crashing every day. we called in to see if we could swap it out with another Xbox and just pay the difference. The guy on the phone was saying how it's now defective and he could only give us $180 for it. He hadn't even run any tests on the counsel and was marking it as defective. He was super unprofessional on the phone and was getting really worked up over us asking questions. We were simply trying to find a solution. I purchased a used controller from Gamestop in November and by Christmas it already started to have drift. When I went back to the store to exchange it for a new controller they told me their policy only allows for 30 days to exchange. This was the second used controller I purchased from GameStop which resulted in stick drift shortly after purchasing. I recommend to not purchase used controllers from GameStop, they do not warranty their product and will only offer you a small percentage of the original used price to purchase it back. read more

Big chain game store. I don't shop here too often, usually just for holiday sales, but my Husband does pop up in quite a bit. I think their resale prices are high but when they have the b1g1 or b2g1 sales, depending on the system, we take advantage. I used to be really bored when I came in here with my Husband and Stepdaughter who are avid gamers bc they took so much longer looking around then I needed. Joshua was exceptional!! I went in the store looking for games that would work on my PS4. What I found was Joshua, who aided me in every game they had. Although the selection was sparse, Joshua went out of his way to explain the games that he did have. So I give kudos for the service. As far as the store itself, it was clean, and it was well organized. Although GameStop controls the price of each game, Joshua was able to ensure that the value was protected through the insurance plan and the pre-owned game program. This place has policies that aren't in your best interest. I've purchased a game from here that wouldn't load in my PS5. When I attempted to return it they required a receipt and the return to be completed within 15 days. I didn't have either. In fact, it had been over two weeks and I don't remember where I placed the receipt. I buy games for my 10 year old son and I barely play any games, so when I finally get to play a game it doesn't load and GameStop says they can't do anything about it. They practically robbed me for $50 lol. "Sorry man", that is the best you'll get. I understand it's their policy, they run a business, etc blah blah blah. The game still has the SKU and their company sticker, but they refuse to even look at it. In fact they offered to buy it from me as a "defective item", for what?!, so that they could sell it to another sucker like me lol. save your time and money and go somewhere else. Went to buy a PS4 game, decided on preowned. Asked to see the disc, it was all scratched and finger prints all over it. CHASE told us to purchase the 7.00 protection and it would cover it. Ummm, NO, it shouldn't come this way. Decided on the new game, he proceeds to give us an opened copy, again asked to see the disc and it was dirty. His response was that it was a display, well then selling it for full price shouldn't be the answer since it's open and apparently used. For my understanding their manager is on leave and that's probably why they act like this which is a shame. I have tried calling the store during business hours 3 to 4 times a day to get information and no one at this store answers the phone. At first I thought it was because they were busy until I rode by and seen no customer in the store and still they let the phone ring without answering while they are grouped around chatting. I've shopped at this location on and off for several years, starting back when it first opened as EB. There have been a number of managers at the store, and they truly made a difference in the store's appearance or employee attitudes. For several years now, the store has been managed by the same guy. The state of the store shows that he either does not care about the job or the customers. The store is poorly laid out. It used to be more open, making it easier to browse even when the shop was busy. Now this GameStop is a weird maze of vaguely gaming related products taking up most of the floor space. So much of this merchandise looks like impulse purchases: blind bags, key chains, general garbage trinkets. The front half of the store looks like Hot Topic now with a number of overpriced comic book and sci-fi toys/collectibles. The prices are not at all competitive, considering the Target in the same location also now carries some of this stuff. It's great for window shopping, then buying it for 10-20% less on Amazon. But why all the non-gaming related merchandise? Did they have warehouses full of stuff that was intended to go into their now defunct MovieStop stores? Clear out the items no one is buying and make room for customers to shop. read more

Lousy customer service. Purchased a PS5 bundle. All items were full retail. Determined that one of the games was not age appropriate for my son. Asked to swap for an age appropriate game. Online customer service said they could not do it but I could take it to store and they would likely do it. Drove 30 min and was told no. Again, there was no discount associated with the bundle. I paid full price for each item. Game has not been opened. I just wanted a game my son could play. This kind of customer service is what drives people away from doing business with you and going to the big box stores. Now I will spend the next 30 days posting how unpleasant my experience has been with Game Stop rather than sharing how thrilled I am that I was able go get a PS5 for my son at Game Stop. read more

Do Not Shop Here. Horrible and rude customer service from staff and so-called managers. Went in to exchange an inexpensive item that was received for Christmas that I already had. They refused to give in-store credit to exchange for an item of same or even lesser value. The gamestop sticker with the upc code was still on the item and it was unopened. A whole group of so-called managers stood there doing nothing and one of em shook his shoulders like tough luck. Will never shop here again and have spent tons here. I really like the rewards program at Gamestop...plus you get a monthly subscription to a magazine called Game Informer. I am not a gamer but my son is amazing. The manager at this location (Mike) always goes over and beyond the call of duty to help my family. Everyone at this location is super friendly and helpful (Shout out to Sandra -- very nice lady). When we first moved to this area I was not too happy with this store, but in the past couple of years they have really turned things around and go out of the way to make sure you are satisfied before walking out the door. While there are a lot of options to purchase new games in the area -- by far this is the best for our family. The staff are also very knowledgeable about the games, systems, equipment, release dates, etc. They have used games, iPad, iPod, iPhone, game consoles, controllers and many other electronics. read more

The employees are pretty helpful and will try to find things for you, but I feel like they are always trying to upsell. Terrible experience I am new to the store and have a few encounters. First time I came in everyone was unenthusiastic and not really making me feel like they care at all. The second time the girls working there were much nicer to work with over the gentlemen. The last time and final visit I had someone talking to their personal friend behind me because he didn't know the answer to my question and the entire time he acted as if my business was a burden to his day. My money must not be green enough for this place and I will not be back. The so called manager "Mike" is EXTREMELY unprofessional and has temper issues for which he should seek help. We have been going to this store well before he worked at that store likely, as there was a different manager in the past. A game was bought from this store recently as a birthday gift, however it turned out to be a duplicate gift. The game was brought within 1 month ago (not within a week as there was illness in the family, AND it was realized that it was a duplicate at the party a week ago). No money was asked. Just a switch to a different game. Corporate had been called first to ask if this was possible. Gamestop CORPORATE said YES, it was possible as it was within one month. Mike started yelling at my mother who went to switch the product after having spoken to corporate office, and did so in front of my minor children. He terrified my son who has active asthma and my toddler daughter who asked me if that man was crazy when I got home. Mike demanded his staff member who tried to give a pen to my mom so she could write something down, not to do so. He then told my mom to "get out" of HIS store. The guy should not be managing (if in fact, he is the manager) anything, except his own behavior which needs much improvement. Customer service and BEDSIDE MANNERS is a part of doing business. This guy obviously does not have proper training in this sense and is UNEDUCATED and UNCULTURED. As someone who works in customer service at a MUCH higher level than this "Mike" will ever hope to achieve, be careful of how you treat people.
