We went to the mall with our cousins to hang out and buy things, but we mainly wanted to go to GameStop to buy some new games for their playstation. So we did, it was very crowded and we waited 20 minutes in line. The cashier who was very rude was vague with his responses and was extremely unhelpful. I have been to this particular game stop over the years .and each time I'am there the staff has been very courteous to me and my family. I purchased a xbox one controller pre owned with the insurance on it ,for $5.00 dollars extra .so if any thing goes wrong with the charger you can get a new one.and if you still want the insurance. All you have to do is add five dollars to it again. You get where I'm coming from. I also purchased a couple of games there and got a discount by having a game stop pro reward card.and the price of a brand new game was cut down to more than half . This place gets 4 stores for the fact people can come in and buy video games instantly. Not everyone wants to buys things online because you can't get the latest and greatest game right away, and play it immediately if one buys through an online e-commerce retailer. There is no instant gratification. The 1 star and problem i have with the store is the employees. They are not very helpful. I couldn't imagine being an employee here and being an MWE (Minimum Wage Earner). Here is the real issue. Every time I find something for $20.00, it magically is always the last item in stock. Really? Suspect much? You know what this means. Yes, the cashier gives me an open game. Their response is always: It is NOT used. It was just opened and used for display purposes. It is the last one we have in stock. Always the same robotic responses. If that is the case, then the game should be $5.00. This is why i always buy online and avoid the heartache of coming in here, and being disappointed. I don't want to do it to myself. To add insult to injury, after i buy the open game and walk out the store, the cashier puts the same item back on the shelf to use the same response on the next victim. I looked through the window, stare at the cashier, and confirmed this has happened repeatedly. Just tragic. Their corporate offices must not care because you would think with all the 1 star Yelp reviews, they would try and save these franchise stores before it truly goes under. First of all their were 2 employees and the line was out the door, one of them was taking care of customers & the other was wandering around like their was nothing to do. At one point they both went in the back and left the front of the store alone! Anyone with a hoodie and a mask could've gone around and taken a bunch of stuff that was on the back counter. AND to top it off after me and my wife picked up our order...they didn't have any bags!!! We had to walk around the mall with a console and controller in our hands, visible to everyone. I walked into the GameStop inside the Queens Center Mall. (90-15 Queens Blvd #1105, Queens, NY 11373) I waited in line and went up the the register. I gave my number so they could look up my account. I proceeded to take games out my bag and trade in games I brought with me. I was told that by the associate assisting me that these games could not be traded in when sealed. I asked why. I was told that it's is just a policy of GameStop as a whole. I told them I have all the receipts for each item that I purchased with me. So I asked if I could just take them out of the wrapper and then proceed with the trade in process. I was told no. This is where thing went very wrong because the associates starting treating me horribly as if me asking a few questions were getting them upset. They began to respond in a very aggressive manner. I was told that even if I go left the store and open the games then I wouldn't be able to trade them in because I was already on camera. I told them I didn't understand that policy and asked to speak to the manager. I then was told the young lady I was speaking to was the manager and that there is nothing else that I need to know. "We said you can't trade them, now please go" is what she said. She began to tell me I can have one of my friends come back a few hours later to do it but I have to go. I then proceeded to ask for the managers name. An associate next to her (Jerry) in a very condescending way said "what's your name". I responded with my name and asked "can I please have the managers name" and she said "BiBi". I asked for her information since she was representing the store as a manager if I could get her full name and email information or District Managers information and she told me that she gave me her name. Just BiBi. Her first name. She proceeded to call the next guest while I was speaking to her and said "NEXT". Her coworker (Jerry) said "should I just go get mall security" and she said "yes". They laughed about the situation as if this is correct to treat customers that way. Speaking amongst themselves saying "it's not that serious "he could just go somewhere else" The manager proceeded to ask the customer to move into the very spot that I was standing as if to cause an issue between myself and the following customer. I told her that I was still trying to get help but she ignored me and proceeded with the next guest. Mind you the previous guest was interacting with them for 10 minutes and I was only speaking to them for about a minute and a half. It's customary that the lines don't move so quickly in a GameStop. At this point about 3 minutes later the mall security came in after being called by the associate (Jerry) and he told me that I am being asked to leave the store. I asked him why I was being asked to leave when I am calm, I haven't used any profanity and I haven't raised my voice or been rude. I explained the situation that I had receipts for the games I'm trying to trade in and that I don't believe it's right to be kicked out of a store because I had valid questions that none of the associates wanted to just take a moment and explain. He said I can stay but asked me to conduct my business to the side and I obliged. The manager started saying "you're very unprofessional" which I didn't understand because I am a customer and not an employee. I did let her know that I have been a manager for many years and been in retail for over 15 years and how they are behaving is not a good representation of GameStop. No customer should ever be treated the way I was treat. I never experienced such a horrible display of customer service and a customer treated so badly. I would really appreciate and implore that the District Leader follow up with this because I feel I was treated unfairly. Gamestop is the guy's equivalent of Sephora. This is where we go to window shop and check out the newest and coolest. This Gamestop is outside of the mall and is kind of a "secret" since most people go into the mall for their gaming needs. The lines are usually long especially for new releases inside the mall, but if you visit this location, you normally don't have to wait as long. The customer service here is awesome and the team members very knowledgeable.I preordered some online only pre-releases without any issues. read more

Their are two cash registers and the line in usually out the door. The store is as organized as it can be considering the volume of people that come in and out. As everyone has stated before IT'S THE GAMESTOP OUT SIDE OF THE MALL. What they didn't tell you is the personalized service that you get from the staff. I like to preorder my games, especially the collector's editions, like everyone else. Problem is that most games come out on a Tuesday, I get paid on a Friday. They are supposed to hold on to items for only 48 hrs. I always speak to the staff there, and they always do me a favor and hold my stuff till Friday for me. Now that's customer service at its best. I been to other Gamestop stores in the various neighborhoods that I have lived in, but this one is definitely the best. Go there. Talk to the staff. Buy a game. Go home and have fun. read more

Literally the worst customer experience ever had at any Game Stop. It wasn't even mine. Poorest customer service. Wasn't greeted reps were stuck behind the counter and too busy talking amongst themselves to come on floor and help anyone. I was first hand witness to seeing two employees by the names of Davon and James be completely dismissive of customers asking them to READ THE TITLES and ponying to walls and telling them to look for themselves to find games. Neither with name tags trying to hide identities. When asked for the manager Davon lied and said none were there then he gets one later when he was made to feel ridiculous about his lack of customer service. Then we see a so called asst manager try and pass her self off as the store manager and tried to pass the buck bc the customers were kids. She refused to initially give the managers name and would not give her DMs name. Two employees laughing it off as they dismissed customers and belittled them bc they were kids. This is the reason I guess game stop keeps failing. I guess the brand got too big to value customers and thinks it's ok to bully kids and too busy to help anyone else. What joke. Totally shady kid with long-ish hair at counter tried to pull a scam on me when i returned a defective ps4 with the bundled uncharted 4 game. He insisted that it was Sony policy that he open the new system and remove the sealed game and give me the old, opened game because it was the system i was returning not the disc that was bundled with it. i told him Sony told me in phone it would be a clean swap and that opening the new system and removing a game was not cool. I went back to the store at queens mall and the guy stated the numbers on that card did not match the cards I purchased on my receipt. Sometimes its a very knowledgable gamer, other times its someone just collecting a paycheck. This place used to have a good selection for PC games but now its pretty much all console. Came here for the launch of the PS4 VR and purchased the bundle which came with 2 joysticks, the camera, 1 game and 1 demo disc. I was lucky enough to snag the bundle on release day without preordering, which is a rarity no doubt. I was helped out nicely by the employees here and they engage in answering your questions as clear and giving as possible. Even with hordes of querulus game hounds breathing down their necks. The staff here was definately super nice compared to many retail stores i have gone too, specifically best buy, where they clearly want to display a sense of i really do not care. The inly downside was being misinformed about the member benefits. I was sorta misled into believing i would obtain many many points if i ourchased the membership, because having spent so much money on everything i should expect well over $20 in rewards, but only to realize that $10 is the limit and the rest can be used in their catalog in points. That was not a deal breaker and i don't regret my purchase in any way. I do appreciate friendly service, to which and why i can overlook minor mistakes, totally understanding. 5 stars for giving it your all! read more

This Game Stop is full of liars and incompetent workers. I drove here all the way from Brooklyn because they said they had a certain game in-stock I had confirmed through e-mail. Apparently, once I arrive there they said they don't have that particular item in stock. If you kids can remember back to the early 90s this used to be Funcoland before they merged with Gamestop in 2000. Good used games can be hard to find depending on which Gamestop you happen to stumble in but chances are you can find something playable to take home here.. There are many duplicates, nothing special. I only found one that looked cool which was the Akuma one from Street Fighter. I think each figure was $11.99, they had a few sets that were priced over $25. The Akuma figure is a GameStop exclusive apparently. Sometimes, it is hard to avoid places like this. It's like impulse buy counters in stores you know. Before heading back to work from lunch, I decided to pick up a used game at gamestop...best buy was a bit far for the amount of time i had. (see my 82nd street review of Gamestop of there) I still can't grasp what should only take 5 minutes tops a transaction...can lead to anywhere from 15 - 20 minutes!!! it's incredible. the customer at the register had only 2 games in his hand, and then there was a girl that had items for trade, she had a small gym bag...amazingly there was 1 person ringing...in snail mode...and their boss....some jess guy or something...i overheard a walker by say "what's up jess" yada yada. the least the "boss" could of done is open on the other register, or get someone to open..instead he tells the guy already on register to move faster. you can't move faster if you have to ask the same 3 questions EVERY TIME. would you like to reserve the upcoming "insert" it's going to be hot would you like to guarantee your game bla bla bla would you like to join the gamestop reward program bla bla bla OMG, gamestop as a company needs to realize, they are only top of their line FOR NOW, because they are the only true retailer of it's kind. What more can i say than this gamestop has the tastiest and spiciest donuts in.. wait that's the Dunkin Donuts right next door. Ok since your entrance this gamestop sucks cause there's steps that arent even visible right at the entrance. i cannot tell you how many times i have slipped and fell on the floor, creating a crater 7 ft in radius.
