Well, I was hanging out with my buddy who is a big gamer so I figured I'd tag along. The staff here were Super Mario fantastic. They helped my buddy get a great deal on some trade-ins and made recommendations on which new game to pick up for his Nintendo Switch (good call on Ultra Street Fighter II). While gamer buddy and gamer cashier bro'd down, I wandered about the store looking at all their offerings. Lots more toys than years ago. Like half video games and half toys now. I'm glad I don't buy this stuff anymore, because I'd be broke with a house full nerdy junk that'd never get tidied up because I'd be playing Fall Out or something. Side note: It was a proud day for me when I traded all my Amiibos to gamer buddy for a guitar pedal. I know a bunch of Gamestops closed down recently and the whole industry is being shook up thanks to digital downloads and streaming. Still, it's nice to walk into a store, browse and chat with the friendly staff. This is a good Gamestop to do that at.

The inside is cozy, with comfy spots where you can sit and enjoy flipping through a book. I thought the organization was great. It's really easy to find what you're looking for by genre. The books, movies and games are a mix of gently used and new, but honestly they all looked pretty new. It's locally owned and the people who run it are so friendly and welcoming.

One of the items that Bellevue University had sent graduates in the mail was a card reminding us of…read morethe school's open house, which would take place the night before graduation. Along with the reminder was a coupon for 10% off your purchase at the Bellevue University Bookstore. I managed to swing by here on one of the campus tours that was running during the open house. I picked up a really nice Bellevue University sweatshirt that was on clearance for $12. The discount dropped it down to about $10 with tax. My sister, a current Bellevue undergrad student, also picked up some Bellevue attire, spending about $40 for a good amount of product. One of the items she snagged for $10 was a really comfortable grey t-shirt. This place is great, and I somewhat regret that I hadn't spent more money buying my alma mater gear from the clearance racks. Maybe next year, when my sister graduates, I can pick up another item or two. Then again, I guess I can always order online. On a side note, this place is really convenient for online book buying. I purchased a number of books from the bookstore while attending the school. While the books are a bit expensive, the bookstore does provide the option to buy all the books that you'll need for a specific class. Also, they have incredibly fast shipping here, which is terrific if you procrastinate on buying books for your classes. All-in-all, Bellevue University Bookstore is a great addition to a great school.

I was excited to visit the new and used book store that recently opened in Bellevue. It's been a…read morelong time since Bellevue had a book store, so this is a welcome addition. The vibe in the store is noticeably peaceful. The tasteful music, lighting, and comfy seating is immediately welcoming. The space has room to grow, and a glance in the back room with its stock of books indicates that growth will be coming. As it is now, the shelves are organized by genre and alphabetically. I noticed a lot of familiar authors in the fiction books and many interesting titles in nonfiction. If my tbr pile was not already so large, I would have been tempted to buy more books than I did. I had a nice conversation with Fearless, one of the owners. He's a great listener as evidenced by how he listened to my motor mouth go on and on. He's a prolific reader, so if you want advice about your next read or just want to talk books, he's your man. Fearless says they are hoping to make the store a place where people feel comfortable enough to hang out and have a cup of tea or coffee. There are tables and chairs for working or just sitting and talking. The website indicates they sometimes buy books, but also accept donations. If you're wanting to support a local book shop, give 2 Dads a go.
