Poorly run gamestop. I showed up at 11:15 AM on a Saturday when they open at 11 AM. Sign says open but the door is locked and there's a long line down the sidewalk. They are only letting 1 customer in at a time for some pokemon card release and the employee stated we would have to get in line as well even though we were regular customers and did not want pokemon cards. If you're going to have a release that requires your full attention, have more than 1 person working. We had to wait in line just to see their retro games that we were there for and when we finally got in they had a poor selection and prices were too high. We went far out of our way for this retro game gamestop and it was a colossal waste of time. read more

Just gotta say fuck this gamestop I stopped shopping here forever ago but decided to pre order Zelda totk here since I wanted my wooden collectible They call me a day before to pick up my game at 9pm the following day. I show up at 9pm only for them to tell me I couldn't pick it up because they already gave out numbers and they were closed already. I was upset but said ok I'll pick it up in the morning. Morning comes now they ran out of the wooden plate collectible and said they didn't get sent enough ... what the fuck is the point of a preorder? I'm not a gamer, so I can't compare this GameStop to others. Nonetheless, I'll never return to this one. I stopped here to buy my daughter a controller that was said to be available online. You have one dude helping people at the counter and a chick slowly tapping up packages while the line is piling up. Two registers and only one person serving tons of customers in line? It's asinine! To make matters worse, they didn't have the controller available that online said they did. They have tons of empty boxes on display that don't even contain the product inside. Another thing is that they do not pressure you to renew your PowerUp Pro membership. I used to have one but canceled it. Drove to this store because their app that they keep saying to check for product availability showed that they had something in, the only gamestop around. Upon arriving didnt find the item so inquired about. The employee said she had seen it some time ago but wasnt in the store anymore. She said I should call ahead. First of all theres plenty of times it's hard to get someone on the phone and second it was before opening. So I said well the app isn't accurate then and shouldn't be trusted. She said sometimes theres theft and the system won't account for it. What!? So gamestop doesn't do inventory? So much for those messages when you walk in about being under surveillance. This review is for Rufino. I came here a couple of times and he has helped me a few times overall the gentleman always has a great attitude towards whatever needs to be done. It is to admire people that have an attitude like this and have the willingness to help all the time. I just left somewhere where my appointment didn't go well I was not upset but it was not a good experience person was not under game and person was not greeting or letting people know what was going on the system was down and they couldn't verify insurance at an optometrist place. The point about this is that whenever you're working somewhere you have to be communicative and also have a I can help you out atitude and this guy has it. I came in to do a pre-order for FIFA and the only reason why I did it was because I wanted to kill some time but what I wanted to say was that this gentleman makes you want to come back and buy something and I don't even game that much. Horrible experience with the manager Ana associate id# 586712. She's extremely rude. I went to the store today in the morning before they opened and was standing in front of the door. She gets there and instead of telling me excuse me, she says can you move. I was about to ask her a question and cuts me off and says no! So I stay quiet. I wait a couple of minutes for her to open and make my purchase and leave. But when I got to my car I noticed that one of my items were damaged. So I go back no more than 4 minutes passed and asked her if I could exchange it for an exact same item. She said that I would need to return them because the items had different bar codes even though they were exactly the same. Which I later found out it was a lie because my sister purchased the same item as me and the bar codes are identical (I have a picture to prove this). She was only trying to give me a hard time. She then tells me I need my I.D. to exchange a 15 dollar item. I told her I didn't have it on me, and she rolls her eyes and nods her head in disapproval. By this time all of my patience was gone and asked her what was her problem. Since she walked in the door she gave me attitude and didn't even tell me excuse me. Her response was that I shouldn't be blocking the door and I shouldn't be asking her questions if she's not on the clock. I told her that she should learn how to treat other people with respect and she could have said excuse me even though I was blocking her. I then asked her if I could speak with the manager. She then tells me that she's manager in a smirking way. I told her I would talk to corporate instead and in a very taunting manner she replied with you do that!.. To sum it up I really expected better costumer service from a manager working at a "prestige" level gamestop. Never expected to be treated like this in a million years. read more

So I go In here to do a return on a used game. My daughter said the game was to boring for her. I give the girl working there my receipt (the game was bought with my husbands DEBIT card) and she scans it and everything. 1 min later she asked if I had the card with me...um no why would that matter its DEBIT isn't that same as cash? Guess not. Yes I got upset but whatevr. Here's where I got REALLY angry. Today I went with my hubby to our regular GameSop in Pico rivera(best one ever =) ) and the guy working there told my husband "whe don't need your debit card, its same as cash.They insist we give our customers cash instead because debit takes up to 3 weeks to go back to your card" REALLY!???!! The"insist we give cash" is what got me mad but I guess this is what I get for going to another Gamestop just because I was in the area. Lesson learned lol. read more

I purchased a new game for over $60, once I'm on my way out the hubby calls and says he already got it elsewhere. I'm still in the store so I return the game and buy another one on the xmas list. To my chagrin another relative bought the game for us. No problem right? The game I purchased is still in the wrap, never opened, never seen the light of day. I go back to return it and was told that after two transactions (the return of the 1st game and this return). I can only receive store credit! Store credit for some game I don't need, at a store I will never shop at! I asked to speak to a manager, due to the fact that the package was intact, original receipt included (note second receipt did not include the transaction type i.e. Cash, debit, credit card). He explained "the policy" which is unheard off. The return policy on the back of the receipt does not state anything about this so called second transaction policy. David listened to my reasoning. He refunded my money and was nice enough to wish me a happy new year. Game Stop needs to get it together, who do they think provides the bulk of their business. The money our kids spend on these games comes from hard working parents. read more
