I had a very good experience at this GameStop, located in a corner of Chamblee Village, the shopping center with Walmart, at the intersection of Peachtree Industrial Blvd and Chamblee Tucker Rd. My PlayStation 3 died for a third time (http://www.ign.com/blogs/burapavong/2017/03/13/end-of-an-era-completed-mass-effect-3-and-retiring-playstation-3) and with it, my Mass Effect 3 game disc which it swallowed. Instead of having my PS3 repaired for a third time, I borrowed a friend's PS3 and came to this GameStop to purchase another copy of Mass Effect 3 so I could continue my quest and beat the game. In anticipation for such an event, I previously subscribed to PlayStation Plus and backed up all my save files to Sony's cloud. Before visiting this store, my friend checked online to see which GameStop stores in the immediate area had Mass Effect 3 in stock. The GameStop website showed this location was out of stock, but we visited anyway since we were nearby. Lo and behold, in the used game section, they had a copy of Mass Effect 3 for only $4.99. I walked out the door paying only $5.34 for Mass Effect 3. What a bargain. The disc was in great condition with hardly a scratch. The case was in OK condition at best. There was peeled off sticker residue on the case and the insert had some minor damage. You kind of have to expect that kind of stuff when buying a used game. As soon as I got home, I was back up and running in no time. I resumed Mass Effect 3 where I left off and completed the game. The hassle of acquiring another PS3 and copy of Mass Effect 3 to complete the trilogy was definitely worth it. Mass Effect is one of the greatest video game franchises of all time. If you're a gamer and haven't played it, you're missing out. I like this GameStop. The associates are very friendly. One of them tried to sell me a Nintendo Switch bundle. The bundle was available online only through GameStop's website. They didn't have any Switches in-store. The store was clean and nicely organized. Alicia, who I think is one of the managers, checked me out and seemed really cool. Since I was buying Mass Effect 3, she told me about the store's midnight opening for Mass Effect: Andromeda, which was just released on March 21, 2017. read more

While I have not made it into the actual store yet. I arrive a little before 10 because the internet stated store hours. Only to get here and it is 10:35 and the store still not be open. Then someone in line told me that I could try other stores because the ones in the mall open at 11:00. Now I am being told noon. If the local hair salon can have their hours updated on all platforms I feel that that GameStop's should do the same. It's my understand people have been out here for hours to preorder a game. GameStop...I want to trust that this company could come up with a solution to this. I am 10 years removed from waiting in line to buy a gaming system or games. Weird childlike adults that work here convinced me to buy a certain headset because the only other good option according to him was $200 ish , this is while also his associate is trying to convince me to buy Pokémon cards and random items . It is the wrong headset. When I go to return it, he cannot accept any opened electronics as returns. Weird rule for a video game store. What if I open the item and it's broken, I cannot return? Both historically and currently, this location has provided old-fashioned and earnest customer service. They've always given myself and my family and, as witness by me on continuing instances, everyone else impeccable and highly personable customer service. They are very passionate about gamers and games and host some of the best day-of and midnight releases and activities. Game pricing, inc. trade-ins, special editions, DLC, etc., can be pretty political, but I always have high confidence I am getting my dollar's worth by the level of 1-to-1 service I get from the staff and team at the Chamblee Village GameStop. This Gamestop is tucked away in the Walmart plaza on Chamblee Tucker Rd. While I hate going to that Walmart due to the crowds, this Gamestop is surprisingly different. There's usually only a couple of other customers when we go, and the workers are pretty helpful. On this most recent trip, we were trading in some games and buying a new one for my son's XBox 360. We got right to the front of the line and the guy behind the counter took care of us. The only knock is that he basically scans them all in, gives us a total, and then hands us a receipt with the credit. Upon further investigation, there were a couple of games that only got $0.06, while others got several dollars. I told my son he could have sold those other games to his friends for $1 and done better! Oh well, my son was happy that he made some money off of games he doesn't play anymore... read more

I'm not much of a gamer these days, but on the rare occasion that I feel the need to get my game on, Gamestop is a place I like to go. The prices they ask for on used items is a little ridiculous, but new gaming systems and games are pretty much on par with other retail establishments. I could easily kill some free time in here browsing or playing demos. And yes, the parking lot here can be a nightmare when the walmart zombies are out in full force. read more

I was the only person in the store and was browsing 3DS games and Will was just asking which one I had and then started talking about Animal Crossing: Wild World being a guilty pleasure and it's always been my favorite game. I have been to many GS but I particularly dislike this section. The employees are lazy and careless plus very rude and demanding. For example; I went to a different GS near gwinnett and tried to trade in my xbox360 white with 20gb hd. it had a big crack on the back and i was missing the battery case. They wouldn't take it so I found a different battery case and took it to this GS. The guy didn't even check, he just took out the xbox and told me how much I will get back. And today, I went to trade in my psp3000 and the current employee demanded me that I should get something with the credits i will get back for my psp3000. When I said no I just want the credits he changed his mood and started being rude to me and was ignoring my questions about how much in store credits I will get back. I called in advance checking for a particular item, upon which the employee told me that there were a few left. Great! I jump in my car and drive 45 minutes in rush hour traffic to get to the store ASAP. Unfortunately, upon arrival I am informed that the stock quoted to me on the phone was actually on hold and could not be sold. Oh... uh, thanks. The employee seemed a bit rude, but was likely just your normal min-wage manager-type attitude who is used to dealing with the general population and console-kid parents. He had a cool looking beard though. This experience quickly reminded me why I haven't visited a physical "game store" in years. Until the stars align again, years from now, I will continue to make my electronics purchases online and continue to view GameStop as the soon-to-be-defunct Blockbuster 2.0 that it is.
