Hi, I am reviewing this store as i found the rating to be a little unjust and after reading the reviews i still feel this way. They are mostly individual issues and don't reflect the store as a store. Rather when something goes wrong reviews. I gave 5 stars. Pro's: -The selection is really and surprising good. I love games and play a lot of genres as i know Noobies, kids, gamers, so on. I spoke to a clerk and he happened to be responsible for the ordering of the games, took him 5years to get the stock where it is today. Impressive! -The value is quite good actually. I was a little surprised. It isn't far off internet sites. Still marginally cheaper online BUT for the sales help, the instant purchase, and environment(could literally start playing there!!) i feel it is good value :) - The clerks are gamers. Con's -hmmm i don't have one tbh. Overall: Well worth checking out. Knowledgeable approachable staff(I can be a little annoying as I want to make a good purchase). It thrills me that Dublin is at the point that there are two table-top gaming shops within a street of each other, which means that the stigma attached to the likes of Warhammer is fading away and is one step closer to being socially acceptable. The shop is fine and has a great selection of games and such, but if you're not a very regular customer, the staff are pretty rude and dissmissive. The guy at the till with the very very greasy hair is especially rude. No manners, no courtesy, he just wants you to go away as quickly as possible so he can return to talking to his friends. If he was a teenager I could understand it, but he's in his early 30s at least. Unprofessional. read more

I went to one of their events advertised on facebook, an mtg draft tournament. Myself and my friends were only just starting out and wanted to give magic a go, but we had no expectations to win at all, thankfully it advertised €12 to enter albeit with no prizes, so it just covers the 3 packs you buy to pay, grand. We arrive and nope, we are only allowed enter the prize tournament so we have to give more money. It wasn't a lot of money but its bad form (possibly illegal?) to advertise the €12 entry when that is not the case. As for the store itself its alright, decent selection on a variety of things, if you're just interested in mtg you're better off with warchest. I don't think I'll be going back for their events though if that is something they often pull, which is a shame because store events are the main advantage these places have over buying online and this place missed the mark that day. read more

Dedicated games shop. No comics, no toys, just games, and many. Board games, card games. Magic the gathering is the big one for me but they definitely do Warhammer. Very cool staff. Large enough for a reasonable tournament. Decent amount of accessories though a bit pricey. Prize support is not amazing compared to some places I've played. Draft is €16 and the only prize was a rare draft agreed upon by the other players. No packs are added to the pot by the shop. Sealed deck was €30 and first place got 5 boosters. 5th place got 3 boosters. Not much difference for winning the whole tournament. I love the place though. All the wayward card and board gamers should stop on by. Draft is Tuesdays and sealed is Fridays, both @ 1830. read more

Was visiting from overseas and was considering purchasing some items. First off the first clerk was busy playing Pokemon cards with his friend and was impossible to catch his attention. After talking to another clerk I asked for a VAT refund form and they told me I just needed to present my receipt to VAT refund. Well went to the VAT refund desk at the airport only to be told I needed the refund form. If you're part of the normal crew I guess this is the place to go. If you're looking to check out a new shop I'd be careful - you're either going to be ignored or taken advantage of. read more

As an avid gamer, one of the first things I do in a new place is check out if there is a games shop. Dublin was no different. I've been a long time writing this review even though I have been going there for a while now. Like most games shops they can be a bit intimidating to say the least. But its not too bad here. The selection is pretty good, there's always something I want to buy unfortunately. Prices can be a bit expensive. but that's generally the way. Dropped into gamers world on a Tuesday (as they open late) with a couple of friends to look into getting a d&d boardgame. The first thing you notice is that they have tables set up and are running tournaments. Despite a magic the gathering tournament and other things going on the service from staff was amazing. Gave great friendly advice over which boardgames would be suitable aswell how to expand on them. A nice varied selection of stock and a friendly atmosphere. TL:DR: If you are interested in getting into or currently play/collect minatures/ boardgames/magic the gathering, this is the place to go in Dublin. read more

Ok, I'm a fair weather gamer and a novice when it comes to games shops, but I can tell this place is the real deal. There's is usually a long table setup in the main shop floor for people to play at when we pop our heads in. Then there is the gaming room out back too, which I've never been brave enough to venture into. The selection appears to be quite good, but remember I'm a novice, so I could be wrong. As for value, the games and extensions are pricey - 30 EUR for four card board extensions - but this is endemic to the industry from my limited experience of gaming shops. Even online these types of games and extensions are pricey. Staff are always polite when paying, but I've not had a chance to converse properly with any of them. They usually are chatting to others when we are milling about browsing. read more

Definitely the best shop in Dublin for board games, role playing and table top gaming. I'm a board gamer and role player but I really appreciate the table top stuff going on there too, there's always someone either playing or painting. They are open late most nights and have space to host gaming sessions. read more

I just had to drop in to see what a 'Game' store in Dublin is all about. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! When I saw the 2 dudes painting little figurines and drinking coke in the corner I knew I have found an awesome board game store! This is not scrabble (though I love scrabble) or monopoly game store, this is a full on awesome fun board game store that carries Arkham Horror, BGS, etc. I definitely will go back there to pick up some board games! read more

The place to buy table-top games, models, RPG, paint, dies, and more. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable, and yes, there's no problem getting them ordering games for you. If you decide to go in one evening to play some games, you can rent games to try out with your friends. It's quite central, and opens 7 days a week. Regardless if you are gamer, new to gaming, curious about what's table-topping or RPG and so on... check this place out. I have spent way too much money in this store; it is fantastic that the business has never shown a sign of struggling continues to be one of the core places to find great games. Even comparing prices with Amazon and eBay, Gamers World is only a few quid extra. The price is worth it to know that it is going towards the business and keeping something special alive in Dublin. read more

Customer service not great here. I was buying an xmas present for my gamer husband and was happy to find I could order it for collection through Gamers World online. All was well until I went to collect the game from the shop the next day. I was told they had misplaced the item and would call when they found it. I got no call that day, or over the weekend, so I shot them an email on Monday. No response. One week later I had to follow up with another email to ascertain if the game I had ordered was in stock and ready for collection. It wasn't. Not only did I have to go through the hassle of organising a refund (which was initially offered in cash/store credit, until I pointed out I had paid via PayPal), through lack of communication I wasted a week trying to get a game that I was only able to source online in the US. Very disappointed in both the stock management system and customer services for lack of communication. As a non-gamer, this leaves a lot to be desired. Can do better. read more

Fearing the worst, I went into this nerdy man-cave to see if the good folk within could advise me on starting a role-playing game. The guy behind the desk was on the phone, ordering arcane items so while I was browsing I could hear him saying things like 'three ineffable dragon swords...yeah...one balebrush of doom...one manifesting horde...' and so on. After he hung up, I asked him about d&d and he couldn't have been more helpful. I was tempted to go all out and buy the really expensive stuff but was advised to get a starter pack and see how it went before really investing. The different types of games available was explained to me clearly and blessedly free from condescension. This is exactly what I want in a situation like this, and it's the kind of salesmanship that creates trust and loyalty. I was going to go to Amazon for my future purchases but the really cool customer service means I will be back at Gamers World. Recommended for anyone starting out. read more

Unfortunately one of the least friendly gaming shops in Dublin, & the only official yugioh tournament store which they care little about. Overpriced when you compare to online retailers and unwilling to inform customers of when special release events are occurring until after they've finished. Done with giving them my patronage. read more
